If he’s a picky eater make him like a little menu with pictures of the foods he likes to eat that way if he’s not feeling it that day to be verbal he can just show you what he wants to eat ❤️ You got this mama

I don’t know why our culture is embarrassed about having children with disabilities or not wanting other people to know. It’s mostly because they are uneducated about the subject. The most important thing you can do to help your son/daughter is get educated and help educate others.

I have a child with Autism and man hes my world he has taught me so much about love and patience. Hes has taught me that Love really doesn’t need words. He’s taught me what priorities really are ❤️ I understand you i felt the same way when my som was diagnosed but I also felt relieved that I finally knew what he had and that now with name Autism i knew where to look for help! I was recommended a book by an Autism expert it’s called “thinking in pictures” by Temple Grandin” and that book helped me understand my baby so much, I highly recommend that book.

I remember being at an appointment with him and while we were waiting someone came over to us and said you must be a really special person because God doesn’t give these precious babies to everyone. I literally cried right there. I had been so stressed and so anxious I never stopped to see what was right in front of me. You and your husband are so special and your little man is truly a blessing! I have helped my parents with all the doctor appointments and school meetings due to the language barrier but I learned so much that now I’m a special education teacher myself. I cried with you throughout the entire video. I felt your emotions. A mother always knows, I knew my son had something since he was one and my husband fought with me all the time because he said our son was fine. I had mentally come to terms with him having something but the day he was diagnosed with autism I cried so much! My heart broke into a million pieces because as a mother you want nothing but the best for your kids. My daughter came to me and said “mommy Liam is Liam and him having autism doesn’t make him any less he’s loved” those are the words from a nine year old. Everyday is a challenge but when you get those cuddles and kisses all the crap that the day brought doesn’t matter. It’s so hard sometimes because I have to take both kids to therapy my daughter is required to have therapy as well. It’s so hard to balance life sometimes. I love you guys, god bless y’all and y’all will be in my prayers #autismstrong #autismmom #autismawareness

I really do understand you Jenny, I was in denial when my son was diagnosed. I can’t explain how depressed I was because I work in the educational field and somehow I was prideful because like every mom we want our kids to be the best at everything and my son was struggling academically. I have been coping by talking about it with other moms. Reading and studying about the disorder. I even changed my major to psychology because I know that as they get older more challenges will arise from each staged. All I can say to you as a young mom is to educate yourself on the subject to understand the behavior and your son. Many famous individuals have successfully lived normally and have acquired success with the spectrum. Examples are Albert Einstein, Tim Burton, and Anthony Hopkins and many more educational professionals and mathematicians. Look for strengths in your son and be supportive! You never know you may have the next inventor, mathematician, or scientist.

When Emmanuel said “he’s gonna be alright” he will be, i promise! I am a behavior tech and I work at a middle school and all these kids will be okay. Of course they’ll reach different milestones at different times but they’ll reach them. Your love and attention is what will make him keep pushing and motivated. Only you know how your child is so you don’t owe anyone an explanation. Sometimes they don’t like certain foods, textures smells etc because their sensory overload is all over the place. Wish you the best always girl! 🙂 and with the correct support he will keep pushing and reaching new milestones. Sending much love always!! 💕

Okay I’m a mom as well and I know maybe I shouldn’t say anything but how are you going to drink while you’re pregnant and then be embarrassed of your beautiful little blessing that has a disability? He didnt ask to be born. You should always treasure your miracles because some people aren’t able to experience the things we have had a chance to experience. You shouldn’t be ashamed of anything your son was sent to you for a reason and if you didn’t want that, there’s many options you could’ve taken but you chose to have a child and you should always love him not matter what. Doing the right thing is always an option so why not get your head right and raise awareness for things like this because he deserves at least that he deserves for his parents to educate themselves on the topic and to help him shoot for the best in life. Don’t take things for granted because once he’s gone you’re gonna realize how beautiful everything could’ve been.

Don't breed him. I am a vet tech and I volunteer at a shelter. A lot of these puppies end up abandoned and in our shelters. Harsh reality a lot of these dogs do not end up growing old in these shelters. There is a time frame for them to get adopted before they face being put down. So please please please do not breed your dog. Puppies are cute and everyone wants one but once they are grown a lot of them end up being surrendered over to us. That is the saddest thing ever. So please be responsible and do not breed your dog. Neutering him is actually a great thing for him. They live longer, more calm, less chance of prostate cancer, less aggressive, they don't have the need to mark their territory, break out of the yard, among so many more benefits to neutering.

    • @MiriamGarcia-gv1gh
      @MiriamGarcia-gv1gh 5 лет назад +26

Thank you Dee M. I was going to give this same advise. Jenny you had to "abandon" your puppy like you said because life happened. A lot of people do the same. I wish more people would take the time to really think before they get a puppy. If you are willing to give the dog the time and attention they need and have enough space for them great! otherwise please don't. Specially don't buy one from a breeder. Adopt them from a shelter, there is so many dogs waiting to be adopted, some are beautiful and very young.

He is a picky eater but lately he has been more open to other foods. I fed him the same thing for 3 years because he would have starve if it was up to him. At one point I thought he was autistic because he would always whine , wasn't talking & was a picky eater.... but the only thing is he has a speech problem. I read to him everyday & we go thru flashcards and I make him repeat them. It has really helped

She's 20 now and has great eye contact, smiles often and goes on and on about whatever she's into that day. Unfortunately, the picky eating has stayed. Calendars and schedules are what she thrives on. It's hard when she has melt downs and people stare and judge. But they dont know any better so I always use humor to lighten the situation. Keep pushing forward and cherish those milestones when he's ready. You're sons a blessing and when you look back over the years, you'll be astonished to see how far he has come as well as yourself. I remember being that scared mom with a special baby. Fearing the future and unknown. You are absolutely not alone. You'll learn his style and ways and he'll florish.

She can try to get a behavioral therapist which might help, but they aren’t as trained as they typically only have bachelors level education and limited experience, which makes it a hit or miss. My brother is autistic, & since we found out I still treated him like the day before because he needs to be treated like the normal kid he is. My mom would be depressed & cry but I would have her understand that he is still him & there kids out there with worse stuff like not being able to walk or move or talk. My brother is able to talk & have a conversation makes it longer then I would but still makes his point. When he was younger his ten now but we wouldn’t tell me what he wanted to eat but if I showed him certain things like an egg or cereal or waffles I’ll ask him to choose what he wants & he would, you need to challenge your kid everyday challenge there mind don’t just ignore it because you feel like he can’t make his own decision you need to teach him how. I fell like I helped my brother a lot by not treating him like an autistic kid but like my lil brother putting the Autistic part aside. They told my mom they should medicate him to control his emotions but what did I tell her no, he need to learn how to do that on his own because with the pills he would never learn just get drugged up & when he doesn’t have them he would be out of control. Wanted to put him in special school I told my mom no, he needed to be around others kids not just special kids & so he is he learns a lot from them everyday & they love him. He’s the best reader in his class & is super super good in math. Every time I go to my moms house he has a award for something. Love you kids & treat them with love & support & never treat them different to make them feel weird in the world.

I get you’re friendly and respectful. But if anyone in a medical office tries to take your photo and you don’t want to. You don’t have to. You have that right.
And if someone decides to be spiteful and leak medical records, that’s a HIPPA violation that could get that entire office shut down, that person arrested, fired and likely heavily fined. HIPPA and several other laws don’t play when it comes to patient privacy. Don’t feel like you can’t go get your son or even yourself medical attention cause you’re famous. They may be fans but they still have to treat you like any other patient.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm a new Autism mom, my daughter was recently diagnosed at 21 months, she's 2 now. Although in my gut I knew this was her case when she was 10 months old because I have two previous babies and was able to notice the signs right away. Its hard, really hard as you already know. Let me tell you though, you learn to appreciate the littlest of things, the most basic accomplishments bring me the biggest joy with her. For example Her looking at me when I call her name or when she actually points to something or when she starts playing with me or her siblings. To other parents that's something that's expected and doesn't get celebrated. She's non verbal and although she laughs and babbles all day I can't wait to hear call me mom, I'm praying for that day!! Watching videos and following IG accounts of other moms in the my shoes helps me get realize I'm not alone, we're not alone. Goodluck with your beautiful Manny, I hope the therapies help in flourish. 💕

Its tough but it gets easier. We have a speech therapist that comes to our house and gives him 30-45 mins of therapy and it’s been helping! There are so many programs out there to help kids like ours so look for all the resources you possibly can!

Mary Mae My brother had speech delay omg! I cried so much I was scare of bullying the most because my family being mexican they would laugh and just joke about it. They thought he was just lazy they never thought anything was serious. He’s now 7 almost 8 and he talks so much and knows so
many things I always get shocked when he talks to me. Trust me you’re going to love it once all this helps him! He knows everything about thomas, transformers, and so on! Right now what we are struggling with is reading, we don’t know how to teach him 😢. We honestly just thought to he was being lazy or he just had a hard time remembering things but it was weird he knew all the thomas and friends names but never knew his ABC’s or numbers. But just last year he learned everything it’s crazy!! But still reading is hard and I still cry not about reading because I remember in elementary all the kids that got picked on for not being able to read right.

The earlier you know the more he’ll progress everyday cause you’re aware and so hands on. My brother is 17 now and hes smart as fuck and fully functions in a normal class (he was in the special ed class until deadass like 7th grade). My son had a speech problem and he use to flap his arms too, his doctor said it was normal until my gut feeling knew it wasn't. Fast forward to now my son is 4 years old and has finished his speech and OT therapy. He talks at his age level now and the hand flapping has stopped he still does it at times when hes really excited. They said the progress he was making was amazing. he never was diagnosed with autism because it wasn't severe. But he did have a speech delay which he is now caught up at his age level. The therapist were amazing I thank them everyday in my prayers. There are different types of autism and speech delays. If the doc told you what type of autism he has that may help you inform yourself even better because not all kids with autism have the same symptoms every child is different. and I know that feeling of feeling alone and feeling like nobody can relate but once you start taking yours son to therapy and seeing the other moms how strong they are you grow a bigger back bone. everything is going to be okay ❤

Get him neutered so he doesn't want to go after the girl doggies and get lost. A lot of Male dogs run away chasing some ass. But don't have him have puppies. There's so many in shelters or end up in bad homes. Dogs don't have "feelings" of wanting to be "parents", it's just instinct to breed. And if you neuter him the instinct isn't there.

Some first-world countries view desexing to be inhumane
In Sweden, 93% of females 99% of male dogs are left intact. Under Norway's Animal Welfare Act, it is illegal to neuter your dog in Norway unless it was deemed medically necessary or for animal welfare reasons.
Our vet is from Sweden and told us this. Our dog has his nuts. We also went through a reputable breeder, so we must be those evil people everyone in the comments keeps talking about lol
