I love how he he's so gentle towards Yukina, and how his eyes kinda shimmered when she said he was familiar to her. That made my heart happy for a moment.
He's not necessarily cold, just prefers to keep his distance. His childhood never rreally had friendships just bloodshed and darkness. I'm sure he wants to be part of the group more, but might be afraid to.
Judith Rios I agree partially. Hes not tough. Autistic confused people and wankers are stiff and tough like a rock. As for Hiei I wouldn't call him cold. Most people just expect to be babysat all the time and fed warm soft energy. Fuck off, take a cold shower then. Hiei is rather devoted. Dedicated towards his ideals and others people bullshit is not of interest. Period. Nor is wasting time around.
When Yukina says killing him would just give her nightmares, I think Hiei realizes something. The kind of person he is would scare her. I think that's a big reason he doesn't reveal who he is. Hiei is afraid of being rejected by Yukina, especially after being abandoned by his own people.
I think so too. I think that he actually has two core reasons. one, he fears her reaction to his reputation but also because of that reputation he knows he has far too many enemies for it to be even remotely safe for her to know at least for the time being. He'll tell her I think when he feels that it's safe enough because he knows considering the number of others who would love to see his head on a stake, there is too much of a chance she would be used against him which he is not going take that chance
Don't forget he was also abandoned by his second family (the demons that found him as a baby). And it was precisely because of the violent reputation he had made for himself that they grew afraid of him. So they wanted nothing more to do with him. I think this is why he also really appreciates Yusuke and his team. So far they and Yukina have been the only ones not to abandon him.
Hiei was rejected his entire life by family and people he considered family. It's a core wound of his that no one can ever truly accept him for who he is. Thats why Yusuke and Kurama, and Kuwabara are special to him. He likes being able to have his sister around without the anxiety at the thought of being rejected yet again by the only family he has left.
At the end of the Dark Tournament, Hiei also figured out that the ice maidens didn't actually allow Yukina into Ningenkai and she just kind of escaped, although her intention really was to look for him. So they were looking for each other. She gave her stone to him AND said he was giving her brotherly advice, which just kind of seems too convenient if she didn't have an inkling.
In Yu Yu Hakusho's OVA specials "Eizou Hakusho" Hiei eventually returns to the Living World to return Yukina's stone to her then lie saying he couldn't find her long lost brother. However, you can see her hesitating to take it back.It was at that moment she realized that her older brother had been him the entire time, but didn't say anything, only refusing the stone, telling him to keep it. She leaves a confused Hiei behind and then Genkai comes in, telling him she's not the naive child she used to be.
I think she knew long before that and was just leaving it up to him to tell her. I'll bet she figured it out before the series ended, maybe as soon as the Dark Tournament's end.
I honestly LOVE the look on Hiei's face when turukane says he can "pump millions" from Yukina. I'm just like "That is REALLY NOT the right thing to say to her brother" Honestly if I were Koenma I personally would just let Hiei kill that prick he does deserve it after the way he treated Yukina after all.
Exactly! Koenma could have told Hiei on the side like “if need be, you can kill him but make it seem like an accident, and I will take care of the official file. Just make it look like you didn’t kill him, but only if it comes to that.”
Yukina actually knows already. But she is not telling Hiei, so he can tell her insteqd once he feels secure enough. It's really so frustrating to see that they're both not open to each other about that. I haven't told it to her by the way. Nothing at all. (^.^ U )(\
I feel like Yukina knew it in the end anyway. She's not as naive as everyone thought her to be; obviously she just kept it quiet because she knew there was a reason Hiei wasn't telling her and she trusts him so, she'd rather have just waited for him to tell her. That's how I interpret it.
I think I'm the only that cried when Yukina forgives the rich guy who treated her like a slave. And telling Hiei to stop. Also cried when Kuwabara really doesn't want Yukina to hate or dislike humans. I guess forgiveness just hits me really hard.
I think (not sure on accuracy, based on anime and manga) that eventually, Yukina figures out Hiei is her brother. She's a bit naieve at times, but she's certainly not stupid.
Master Vampire That's why I said "I think, not sure on accuracy." I've heard on various anime web sites that Yukina does figure it out in the manga. However, since I haven't read the entire series, I can't say for sure that it's true. There's also the possibility that someone read a fanfiction where she does find out, and then took it to be canon. It's also very likely that she never finds out the trut, or she does, and is just waiting for him to say something (however, if we know Hiei's character, there is a very slim to none chance of that happening) So, once again, I'm not claiming what I originally said to be fact. It's more of a"I think this happened, but I'm not 100% sure."
Snow White does use MK ULTRA to brain wash the animals into doing her bidding. They have multi personality disorder and by having a trigger word or sound (her singing) the programmed personality surfaces and will do whatever the programmer wishes. Also the witch is the handler of Snow White and tries to kill her so their secrets will not be discovered.

In all animes about fighters the tough guy usually has that person who is their soft spot. The one person who brings out their gentler nature even if for a moment
Seriously, let Hiei punched the living shit out of that thing or man from treating Yukina like a slave for money and smacking her around and calling her the"B" word.
In the Anime as well. She gives him the special pearl that their mother shed when they were born (Mukuro had found Hiei's after he lost it). She first gives it to him to give to her missing brother if he finds him in Demon world but when he returns and tells her that he's dead she tells him to keep it anyways cause it feels right for him to keep it, that it belongs to him. That's implying that she already knows that Hiei is her brother. After that Mukuro gives Hiei his pearl back so Hiei has both special birth pearl
Actually, Hiei now currently only holds Yukina's around his neck He gave his original one to Mukuro as a "gift", as she is seen with it around her neck at the end of the manga/anime and OVA
3:23 "Hiei is forbidden to take human life! he'll be punished severely." Didnt he just take out like three men earlier? i don't see blood but he's a pretty precise killer.
Lol this scene was sorta funny in the end Kurama was there the entire time!! just standing there Lol if Hiei didn`t get there then I guess Kurama would had saved her instead but how in the world did he slip in not noticed? welp.. it`s Kurama so that`s why Lol
Kurama was always the soft-spoken, super strategic badass of the gang he wasn't as obnoxiously outspoken as Yusuke or Kuwabara and wasn't as outwardly overpowered as Hiei... but he never needed to be.
That's nothing yet. Did you read the manga? Did you know what happened at the end with the Spirit World? What did they found out about King Enma? It's so fucking annoying that they cut that insanely important part out of the anime.
Its more of the fact spirits/demons arent allowed to kill humans no matter the case. I believe its because they are set to a different standard but it is kinda dumb that killing someone like this fucker by anyone isnt looked over and like 'yea...that guy. You can kill him.'

You know, after this, Hiei is my second favorite YYH character. Up to this point I didn't like him. His fighting style was however cool af. He was way too edgy and I don't usually like this type of people. He even let that fat bastard live. Damn, I can't help but smile when I see this. Reminds me of Itachi Uchiha. #oniichan
I love how he he's so gentle towards Yukina, and how his eyes kinda shimmered when she said he was familiar to her. That made my heart happy for a moment.
It's crazy how cold he is to everyone else, but so nice to her. Such a bad ass character and yet even he has a soft side.
+watsyurdeal Well it's tough to be cold to an Ice Demon. Might as well be nice lol.
His father was a flame demon so he might have inherited from him, compassion....in a demonic way.
Hiei is like Itachi and Sasuke rolled into one awesome package
He's not necessarily cold, just prefers to keep his distance. His childhood never rreally had friendships just bloodshed and darkness. I'm sure he wants to be part of the group more, but might be afraid to.

this.
A very understandable reason.
It's very beautiful how Hiei cares for his sister despite never having lived by her side, like a guardian in the shadows.
she is his only family
Later you realize she always knew Hiei was her brother. That's why she singles him out to give her necklace to the first time.
Yukina didn't say she knew cause she wanted hiei to tell her when he was ready...shes so kind..good thing she found kuwabara who will treat her right
She didn't always know but was heavily implied she found out towards the end of the series
@@razkable . Though I doubt hiei would treat him right.

"You can't run from death forever" hearing that from a guy that just took out your bodyguards in the blink of an eye would send chills down your spine
The way Hiei's eyes widen when she said "More nightmares" is just plain tear jerking.
I hadn't even noticed that.
Yeah, Toguro's execution of him was better than he deserved.
I was glad Togoro killed him
Exactly! Koenma could have told Hiei on the side like “if need be, you can kill him but make it seem like an accident, and I will take care of the official file. Just make it look like you didn’t kill him, but only if it comes to that.”
I'm pretty sure that's out of Koenma's jurisdiction. Koenma's father would be all too glad for a reason to put a demon away.
@@katyaandnikkil Koenma overthrew his own father for falsifying documentation. Koenma definitely wouldn't do that.
Lol at 5:12 tugoro's just chilling with yuske and friends. 😂 hahaha
Oh yeah, I'm totally dead over here don't mind me.
He probably thinking "Will u guys just gtf already"
LOL...Tuguro just laying there, pretending to be dead :b
Yukima:Who are You?
Hiei:No one

3:00 Fat guy sounds like Oolong... I love when I recognize DB voices in Yu Yu Hakasho
The entire team is DBZ alumni actually... including Botan.
Yusuke - Justin Cook (Adult Dende)
Kuwabara - Chris Sabat (Vegeta)
Kurama - John Burgmeier (Tien)
Hiei - Chuck Huber (Android 17)
Botan - Cynthia Cranz (Chi-Chi)

Boruto Uzumaki Snow White isn't nice to animals. She hypnotizes them into doing manual labor. At least Yukina doesn't make the animals work for her.

Hiei turned him into Raisin Bran

Awwww what a sweet older brother!!!!!
yeah epic moment now in days its just pure incest in anime -.-
Daniela F yeah if someone said that about my sister not sure i'd stop... ok i would but after breaking his ugly face
"hiei, why don't you come join us we're like one big happy FAMILY"

He actually said, "Come join us, Hiei. We're practically a family here" while playing cards
As an older brother, fully endorse everything Hiei does, and intended to do, to protect his sister.
Yukina is just so extremely cute. Seriously if I had a little sister or a daughter like her I would hug her to death all the time lol.
She's so sweet I want to eat her!!

In most cases, those words would have costed that man his life
Ugh.💓 I'm a sucker for tough characters with soft spots. Lol
Oh hiei, someday you'll tell her in the future I think.
Lmao "You ugly fool!" XD
Not me crying because I’m never gonna see the day hiei tells Yukina that he’s her brother😢🥺
She knows. In the OVA Genkai chastised him, saying she's not a naive child anymore.
I think at a certain point her intuition told her the truth but she may have understood why he didn’t tell, thus never confronting him about it.
It's kinda crazy looking back on this, I literally hear only the voice actors from DBZ. I hear Android 17, Ulong, Chichi and Dende lol.
Hieiきま a kind elder brother, however a frightening foe.
Understood, I won’t make you cry, he’s to worthless for that.💕
If it were any other circumstances, I doubt you would have spared that ugly fatass
This is what you get for fucking with Hiei when he hears you bully his sis!
So they all freak out that Hiei was about to kill the fat man despite the fact that he already killed 3 dudes right off the bat
What makes you think he killed them?
He most likely knocked them out

Oh hiei, I wish that u could tell your sis. I'm sure she'll understand.:(

As the older brother to a girl I love more than anything else in the world, this scene is beyond satisfying.
Who would have ever guessed Hiei was a total siscon? Damn.
In this video, I just was that Yukina's tears dropped as small beads on the floor.
for a demon Yukina is so hot and cute and innocent
Meant to show that not all demons are stereotypical monsters that just love to fight and kill
She didn't even hit puberty yet. Imagine how she will look like when she will finally mature.

Yukina knows hiei is her brother. Basically kuwabara and kayko are the only ones who don't know.
Well. I have something similiar. I have made an oath to never acknowledge my own son.
Hiei, the best older brother next to Itachi
Vegeta: As if.
itachi killed his family and tortured sasuke
Hiei is a better older brother than Itachi
This is why Hiei is a much better character than Sasuke. He actually cares about people.
Also Hiei x Kurama fight me
In the manga around the ending part she sort of realize hiei is her brother.
In the Anime as well. She gives him the special pearl that their mother shed when they were born (Mukuro had found Hiei's after he lost it). What episode?

Cool series
You know, after this, Hiei is my second favorite YYH character. Up to this point I didn't like him. His fighting style was however cool af. He was way too edgy and I don't usually like this type of people. He even let that fat bastard live. Damn, I can't help but smile when I see this. Reminds me of Itachi Uchiha. #oniichan
What is the name of that theme that starts at 1:10? Where Hiei remembers Yukina, It's been driving me nuts. Can someone help me out with this?
