To be fair if people buy this thinking they're getting a vintage box that cheap when it literally says it's not real that's on them for being ignorant. I'm sure people are buying to resell as legit to scam, but I don't blame the seller. It's pretty much a decoration. I wouldn't wanna decorate with fake boxes but I'm sure some people would. I'm kinda on the fence because on one hand as long as this guy is saying they're fake, let him sell his props. On the otherhand I definitely see how he's enabling scammers. Can you really hold him responsible for the potential misdeeds of his buyers? Seems like a grey area to me personally 🤷🏽‍♂️

If I buy a mask and a crowbar at home depot and rob a bank, is home depot at fault? Of course not. Same here. This seller is not at fault if someone uses his CLEARLY LABELED REPRODUCTION boxes to scam people. He can't be responsible for the misdeeds of someone else.

as someone who doesn’t care about pokémon cards but collects other things i’ll equate it to my collections: if i can’t afford the real thing, but want to have that thing, i get something similar (and customize if possible).
there is nothing wrong with wanting to add a fake item to your collection as long as you aren’t passing it off as real and selling it as so.. in the end it literally does not matter it’s just a collection of things you like to look at ;)
also in some cases knockoffs or bootlegs or custom made items are way better quality or cuter, cooler, etc than official licensed stuff.

Even though this seller’s sales would most likely end up with scammers using the boxes, making replica boxes in itself is not wrong. You call them counterfeit but really they are just replicas. In my opinion they don’t become counterfeit until someone tries to play it off as the real thing. If this seller is honest and says that these boxes are not real, then I don’t see how blame or wrongdoing of scammers can be pinned on this guy.

People need to read the listing and title and description. Most buyers will not do this. It amazes me how little the buyers will actually read. A listing for an item will say something is damaged in the title and discuss damage in description and show pictures of the damage. The buyer will get the item and then ask to return and a refund because the item is damaged. It was fully disclosed everywhere that it was damaged but buyer never read. They saw a lower price, item is damaged, and just purchased. This happens way too much. Buyers don’t like reading.
On eBay also look to see how long the person has been a seller. Look at their seller rating and look at any reviews that have been given. If they are basically a brand new seller or they don’t have any reviews I would run. Also see what else they sold. Normally doing all that can really point out who is legitimate and who is not. Now that doesn’t mean someone who is legitimate doesn’t decide to become scammy so always look further.
Also, I believe they get away with this by saying it’s handmade or saying something is custom made (this gets said about fake Funko Pops). They don’t say it’s real so they get away with things.

Rattle, just because you can afford all the wotc boxes under the sun doesn’t mean that others can. If someone wants something cheaper just to have on their display with all their other Pokémon stuff then I’m not sure what the issue is. You’re a real culprit of causing drama within the community when there isn’t a need to. If someone’s genuinely scamming people then report on it and raise awareness but if someone’s just making boxes that clearly state they’re repro on the bottom just so people
Can buy display pieces then not sure what you’re gaining from causing abuse for them. Also you don’t see people that make repro gameboy boxes get this upset so …….

Also yes this person is selling counterfeits but they are stating that they are reproductions and putting them in a bad light isn’t a positive message when you know that your subscribers are going to hassle them. It’s the people the try and sell these on as real that you should do videos on as they’re the scumb bags.
