      theres also a thing in the water that blocks boats from coming up that far into the river you can see it early in the video when they on that big pier ive seen it before, i ve fished there before theres some stripers and gar in this river that will knock your socks off when they bite they run like h3ll

    hello bottom bite.yes,you are correct about the pier.Its over fished and thats why i call it the 5 minute pier.People generally only stay a few minutes due to current issues there.The safe place to fish is the other side on the wall or just down from the wall but not to far from it as the river gets very shallow and snaggie.The place you stopped at where you said your buddy caught a stripper is not that great.The current there does not allow your bait to stay in the strike zone very long as the water pressure from the generators push and funnel water down there pretty bad.Fishing below the dam on the wall side where people are sitting against the dam really requires a longer than normal pole for distance and holding your rod high so the current dont take your bait or lure down as fast when it hits the water.Believe it or not a 8-10 pole is perfect for hitting that slack water on the other side without risking the game warden giving you a hard time.The issue started back in the 1980s when the plant manager had a hard time to park because everyone wanted to fish on the plant side and he had no were to park.You will notice that you will rarely see anybody fishing there because they know better.The fishing pier used to zig-zag up the steep bank filled with large rip-rap to the chain link fence entrance to the ga power plant.Now they dont even want people up there.It used to be a scenic lookout.The other side where you used that rusty metal post to hold your rod used to be a metal fence to keep fisherman out of that area.The trash gate that releases water washed away the fence.The quality fish are coming back because the water weir finally rusted out and they removed it.The weir was a metal wall that zig-zaged across the entire width of the river stopping the fish from going up behind the dam.The point of the weir was to create more oxygen in the river but really screwed the fisherman for many years.Best thing that happened down there in years was to see the weir gone. take care

    hello bottom bite.been fishing there for 30 plus years and yes its great fishing but the side your on going around the barb wire will get you in trouble,fined,or a trip to jail.i really dont see the big deal to fish there but the cameras are right there where you were standing and the ga power employees will call the game warden or ask you to leave.if you dont things will get worse for you.PRO TIP if youre going to fish on that side do it on the weekends,there are no ga power employees there but you still take the risk from the game warden which there boat dock is above the dam in the right hand corner of the park.i got busted there last year and they take your name down and if your caught there again its a ride to jasper county jail.just looking out for you. take care

    • @bottombitefishing6483
      @bottombitefishing6483  5 лет назад

      Thanks! And yes we only go to that spot on the weekends. There is a spot where the water doesn’t flow right there. The fish hold up on that spot. The dock is almost impossible to fish due to overfishing. Thanks for the advice tho!
