Just wanted to say thank you for these vids. Out of all the guides out there for raids/Trials/Etc yours are by far the most clear, concise and 'legible'. Most the others are people talking entirely too fast, glancing over mechanics with half-explanations and speed running through the video. Please keep these going.
"Most the others are people talking entirely too fast, glancing over mechanics with half-explanations and speed running through the video." Are you referring to Miss_Take?
Well, I just spammed this three time yesterday. Blind entrance, practice, then actual full no death run. Got the chest, not sure whether it is worth my mental state though.
Some healers forget to heal through raid wide dmg so that kills some but most is fairly easy to dodge yet I've had to go smn instead of sam for rex cause people want to floor tank
For "The Final Song", you can cheese it by facing where the 2 halfs of your circle meet towards the falling AOE. You can ignore the entire mechanic this way.
When I started this raid, my gear was in top shape. When I was done, all my gear was under 10% durability. That’s how often I died. After watching this, hopefully my second run will be less chaotic.
You're producing the best guides by very far, thank you so much for them. I'm starting the Nier glam farm (gonna take a while...) so this will be very helpful.
Yoshi-P: “What would you like the mechanics to be for your final raid?” Yoko Taro: “Yes” (IMO - I loved the shit out of this last raid, I don’t understand y some people didn’t like it, but to each their own I guess 🤷🏻♂️)
The raid itself is fun but the story is not good make no sense with vague explanation pretty much Omega but worse at adding to FFXIV everything pretty much replacable and the context still feel the same
imo last boss' mechanics comes out way too slow and there's overuse of sides/not middle mechanic. 3rd boss is undeniably good and has creative integration of automata's hacking minigame though.
@@shaginus well, Drakengard/Nier story in of itself is pretty out there, shit worse than a Metal Gear storyline lol. It makes “sense” if u actually knew the storylines but yeah if u never played the series and just FFXIV that shit pretty wild and unexplained
@@Lashor_ i had a blast, mechanics are pretty fun.... but it's the most boring looking instance in the game. just beige with shades of grey. for every fight. the source material is not this bland. it's like they just used the placeholder textures?
@@shaginus I’d say the main issue is that the story feels smaller than it should be. The threat it ends up posing is presumably world-wide, but we spend pretty much the whole story in one corner of Kholusia. The Mhach and Ivalice raids were accepted from the same places every time, but we did end up traipsing all over Dravania and the Far East to get to the locations. It also didn’t feel much like it was interacting with the world the way it could have been. Crystal Tower and Omega also were localized to small locations, but their connections to Allag gave them a solid place in the world’s history. To the point that Crystal Tower is now inseparable from the main story. And Omega has that bit where he threatens our friends across the world in a plausible manner. I think the story could’ve felt more real with a couple of additions. First, we could’ve had quests that take us around Norvrandt. Maybe have 2P send us to kill some Machines that have gathered around small signal towers across Kholusia and Raktika. And then later, 2B’s pod has us reveal that those locations had a small one of the white Seeds buried beneath. Give the Seed a credible threat level across Norvrandt, instead of just to one town in Kholusia. Hell, suggest a connection to Ronka, the same way that Omega inspired Allag. And second, have the Nier characters talk to us more. Have them give a quest or two. I think that would help them feel more like Alpha and less like Lightning, in terms of crossover characters. Granted, some of this could still shake out. Konogg is looking into the spheres, plural, so we may get info about where else they are, and how this all happened. But even so, that’s stuff they could’ve done in the main story. Nobody who hated the story as is is gonna be actively running a weekly quest for maybe more to it. All that being said, I did still enjoy my time with this raid, and I love some of the lore implications for its home series. I would’ve just liked it to have more lore implications for FFXIV.
I do like to take my first run through things like this blind. But it is a very humbling experience. 🥺 But geez, they really didn't add much warning to anything in this raid. If not for paying attention to other people every single mechanic would have killed me!
Thank you! Many of the mechanics were honestly pretty intuitive (especially after dying to it once), but others I was still a little confused on (mostly the 3rd boss). Speaking of, it's a relief to know that other people had visual issues with that one. It was a sensory overload for me, which caused me to die so many times and I just wanted to be done with the fight very quickly (though I did enjoy the hacking part of it). I don't mind learning new mechanics, but that fight was just visually too much. I don't look forward to doing it weekly for the coin and drops, tbh. Hopefully, since SE knows that it can cause seizures, they'll do something to fix it. That aside, I hope that the weekly quests wrap up the story properly; I currently have a lot of questions and no answers...some of which questions about possible plot holes.
"Thanks! I hate it." Missed the stream since I was playing the content myself, but if the previous Nier raids are anything to go by, this is my assumed reaction from Haps at the end of it all. Lemme know if I got it right.
I think you got one of the attacks wrong on Her Inflorescence. "Distortion." is actually called. "The Final Song." Besides that..thanks for the guide. I've seen a lot of people just end up dying during these bosses..heck one person I saw got hit by a train it was hilarious.
I went down to a mechanic right before the train one, and nearly missed the raise because I was laughing when about six people got wasted by the train. XD
Just to confirm on the tanking Hansel and Gretel... Both tanks have to face both Hansel and Gretel towards the group while separating them. Is this correct? Thanks!
I left midway through the raid on release day. It's not that I couldn't do it, just with current monitor, partial colorblindness, and whoever's bright idea was to make a "sat outside for two days milk" colored floor needs to be talked to. Cause on Console, I couldn't see shit on the third boss. I died about 5 times on each boss cause I couldn't tell where any aoe markers were spawning on the floor. Most of it is based on animations, which I'm grateful for. But...yeah, got my clear and I'm staying clear of this one. To me, those ships are well...grey and...grey and those barriers are well... grey. and you guessed it grey
Really grateful for this guide, as I couldn't see a damn shit when I first did it and learned absolutely nothing. At least watching a guide helps me get a little more oriented on things. I'm kinda relieved to see I'm not the only one that struggled with the flashy mechanics tho. This was, by far, the worst raid I've ever had to deal with and I was physically ill after completing it. Too flashy mechanics is really unecessary - and dangerous - and that horrible background wreaked havoc on my light sensitive eyes. My screen brightness is at 0, and I still wanted to dig my eyes out of my skull afterwards. Heck, just watching this video made me nauseous. D: Such a shame, the raid would've been a really cool one if it hadn't been so unfriendly towards disabilities.
@@TheCarbonRockie Oh, don't get me started. XD My wide range of disabilities (that has gotten significantly worse over the years) haven't just taken away my ability to work, but also my ability to game properly. It's just downright fucking depressing.
While I sympathize with your condition, I would never fancy myself so important than a video game corporation should concern itself with my particular disability. They're entertainers. Not your personal therapist.
I just picked up playing Disgaea RPG for mobile but I was interested in the Dissidia Opera omnia mobile. So many video games, videos, and audio books are competing for my time. So many things which interest me.
Maybe I'm still a noob compared to y'all around here with my 700 hrs of playtime, but I still struggle with this raid even after running it for a third time today. The swingaround animation on Hansel and Gretel throws me off completely (they don't seem to make a full rotation, but attack towards their original frontsides nonetheless? how does that make sense?). Thanks for the guide. I'll try to improve, but I'll probably just keep dieing to some off this stuff regardless whenever it comes up in Alliance Raid roulette.
I thought in the new dungeon, we were going to (spolier alert!) have dragon combat. I was like, oh no! 😭 But no they were just there to take us to the other side to my "disappointment?" Lol.
