The part where you brute forced it - check out the orientation of the four symbols at the end of the row (cut into the acrylic). And then look at the wooden engraved symbols on that face of the die around the wheels: you got the solution correct, but the markings are rotated 45 degrees, so you need to orient them diagonally instead of horizontally/vertically!
I feel like he basically brute forced the whole puzzle box from start to end. From the sliders at the very beginning that he couldn't figure out the little map piece all the way to the very obvious spin move to finish. I guess the mat that he was working on wasn't allowing it to spin smoothly or something.
It's crazy to go back and watch your first vids and see how much you've grown and how amazing your editing and shots have become. You definitely deserve way more recognition for how amazing you are in this community.
Even when two great puzzlers Chris Ramsey and Mr Puzzel, have the same puzzle to solve, it's amazing to watch their technique and their thought process to solve it. It would be amazing if you could both team up to do an escape room together.
Hey Chris! Love your videos but at 13:00, its not broken. You are missing the Key carved into the plastic at the end of the knobs for the bearing in the row. By the cogs, carved in the wood, shows the orientation of the shapes are like a compass to depict the orientation of the actual knobs.
@@scrogfpv7443 Nah man not even close. Definitely disagree there. Their styles at approach and everything are just about complete opposites so I could understand how some think he is and some think Chris is but at the same time Chris has solved legendary puzzles so I think he's a bit ahead of Mr puzzle. We all have our own opinion though!
For the last part of the puzzle you're supposed to grab the lid lift the box and then spin the whole thing while you're holding it. The centrifugal force will push the balls out of the way, and when you stop the spin it'll turn the lid. That's why the arrows were facing different directions.
For me, the vert first thing to rotate was actually cut differently, with the wood part just large enough to block the very first large socket to align with the gap the string ball is from. So I was physically unable to do directly like in the video. I though it was a fatal misconception/misproduction, but then I realised it was possible to work around by sliding the ball further in the corridors and the smaller socket, to finally being able to put the ball back on the same correct track! So that's cool we can have slighty different ways to finish this, maybe for the labyrinth too. I also managed to reset it all the way, it's just a bit tricky when the 6 balls go back to lock mode without the door, so we have to try turn it open again without the handle, but nothing is impossible. So yeah, it works, never give up. 😀 But you still barely understood the enigmas and bruteforced, in contrary of Mr. Puzzle. 😅
8:10 the pins need to line up with the holes from the little piece. The arrow needs to face left( as you were holding it. Now there are a couple more holes which indicate directions in which the pins need to be moved and numbers indicating by how much
The top was definitely supposed to be a spin move, you were trying to spin it on the felt Mat which was stopping it too abruptly, try it again on the hard table surface, it will slide much easier.
I backed the last Kickstarter for the Captain Nemo themed box last year. I also picked up their two earlier boxes as well. Was not disappointed at all. The puzzles are very well thought out, the solutions make sense, and everything you need to know is built in. The pieces can be a bit fiddly, sometimes you have to wiggle them a tiny bit, but for the most part they move easily and do not require any force. These boxes are very fun to solve. I didn't hesitate for a minute when they launched the new campaign. If you're interested at all in getting them, you will be very happy if you do.
@13:28 Here are the steps: Step one: There's a row of smaller dials that prevent a ball from moving, turning them reveals the ball stoppers all have a flat area that allows the ball to move once they are in this position. Step Two: Each of the smaller dials have a distinct shape that corresponds to one of the larger dials with the same shape, noting the direction each small dial is in, position each larger dial to face the same direction. Step Three. The main ball in the track still cannot pass to the next part of the puzzle, further inspection reveals that each large dial also has markings of a Square, Circle, Triangle and Cross. Step Four: Additionally at the end of the small dials is the same shapes cut into the plexiglass, arranged like a D-Pad. Step Five: Following the guide of the D-Pad reveals that each of the larger dials need to be adjusted so they line up with a shape, the direction of the small dials are actually indicators of this. Step Six: With these correctly aligned the main ball can now pass through to the next puzzle
Chris thank you for the incredible puzzles you have brought to my attention..... before stumbling across your videos I never really cared about puzzles and now I live and breathe mine bending puzzles and I have you solely to thank for it so keep doing what you're doing man love ya Joe N.
Recently found your channel and I find your videos very entertaining. If someone told me I'd spend 3 hours in one day watching a guy solve puzzles I never would of believed it but I can watch these all day. Your mind is amazing. I couldn't even begin to solve these
For years, Chris has solved puzzles by spinning them (even when they tell him not to), but the time he had to spin it (on the last part), he forgot his roots.
Another great puzzle solve. Someone may have commented this already, but I think the little wooden overlay had an arrow on it to signify the top of the front side. From there, you had to move the sliders vertically to line up with some kind of pattern in that overlay.
When I first started watching, you pushing to get 50k subs. You’ve really gotten me through some tough times over the years, and I thank you for brightening my days.
I am glad that you have the patience to dove these puzzles. I truly enjoy watching you. However, to be fair and honest, I would broken out the sludge hammer a long time ago.
The numbers one I figured out like picking a lock, slight pressure on the slide then move the sliders and it will unlock. You get binding points and get find the correct path.
i was literally screaming at the computer for you to try turning the box upside down and spin the lid. I was thinking possible the plexiglass cover may have been sloped to set the balls
I'm kind of shocked you didn't figure out the second puzzle on the cube the right way. That tool did fit another way, and you had it facing the right way at one point, but you didn't move the notches to where they'd fit. :-P However, where you were able to do it without the help of the tool, I absolutely needed it xD *golf clap* :) As for the puzzle after it with the notch orientation, you figured more of that out than I did and still brute forced it like I did xD I looked it up, and the solution to it actually makes a lot of sense. I was trying to figure out the key on the bottom right corner more than paying attention to the notch orientation and how it went with it. So yeah...it wasn't broken for you or me...we just both got the solution the wrong way xD Spinning it at the end turned out to be easier than I thought, too...but I got stuck on the same part you did about it because the beads kept rolling back in. You had to hold the middle while you spun the box to make all the beads stay out and unlock it. And if you went to the website it gave you, it would ask how many circles, which is what the top spinner was for ;)
With the centrifugal force part of the puzzle you were solving would it have been easier to put the puzzle on a lazy Suzan or something else that has the ability to spin to get the beads in place
I like looking at your hand movements. Your tattoos are cryptic and have meaning. Not too in depth of magical meaning but it means something to you. Love your videos.

I said I'd be back, time to beat was 62 minutes. Now I can finally watch Chris solve it 09:10 tsk tsk, bruteforcing your way through that, you were on the right track and mentioned the solution, you just didnt follow through. Spoiler below. The last puzzle IS a spin, its just that the box is kinda awkward. I held the star and used it to flick the cube. My spinner was WAY cheaper and simpler than yours... but like yours, no link to the puzzle hall of fame page, which I found odd. Camelot has one though =/
The opposite arrows on the top of the lid - Can you grab the puzzle by the hatch handle and rapidly spin it clockwise once then anticlockwise once, the first moving the balls out to the edges and then the return rotation to unscrew the lid?
The piece you pull out at 7:10 mine is jammed and won't come out. Thought I was doing something wrong and worked on it for hours, but it won't come out.

I spotted that too…Circle / Triangle / Square / Plus
I was going to mention this too. I noticed it at the last second lol
Saw that and oriented it. It's stuck in the middle.

He pushed the close up pad away before he spins. He's spinning it on the wooden table surface.

Have you thought about a chest cam on top of a over head for the parts where you have to tilt the puzzle?
