  • We had a bit of fun with our O3D vision camera in this demonstration but the information it gathers is crucial for a variety of our applications including, palletizing, depalletizing, case completeness, and our patented tape inspection station.
The O3D that we have mounted creates a 9000-point point-cloud image to map a 3D image of what it sees. With this point cloud image, we can find the dimensions of cases, the position of cases, and the level or fill of a container.
The O3D sensor is used in our patented tape inspection system.
as well as finding the layer height for depalletizing full layers of product and detecting the presence of a slip sheet.
Then when stacking empty pallets, we are taking a picture of each pallet to determine what type of pallet they are, if it is a single, double, or pallet with pallet board, so that we can then use the EOAT to pick appropriately.
After placing the pallet on the empty pallet stack, we take another image of the pallet stack because the pallets can be damaged pallets, and they do not stack very well. The image ensures the stack’s stability and determines if another pallet will be added or the stack should be removed and a new stack started.
O3D Vision is a technology that brings our systems even more flexibility, reliability and efficiency.
