For me, one of the highlights of the series..great marriage of music and dance, great song choice..they used the entire floor in a much bigger setting than they were used to in the studio. Aliona looked fabulous..and Matt Baker, shaking that thang...what more could you want? :O)
Aliona, Ola & Kristina are three of the best things about TV. Why would ANYONE want to switch off these three lovely ladies so they can watch ZZZ Factor??
I just about fell in love with Matt Baker on this show. So quiet and sweet, and then BAM. DEM HIPS. DEM LEGS. DAT ASS. And then he just topped it off by being rude to the prime minister on the one show.
Yup, I want to buy a voodoo doll and get Jason Gilkison's hair on it and prick the doll's bum 100x everytime I see a wrong song choice, wrong tempo, too many props etc.. That chief choreographer has too much say in the couples' routine and it's ruining it for me (and more importantly for them, such as Claudia in week 5 when the tempo to the same music is too fast)!
Aliona gets a tough time from some.. I think some people don't like to see a fiercly competitive woman + Natalie suffers the same thing, at times.. I say good on them both + I agree, Matt's doing really well, he's totally up for it + working his socks off. Re the sexy thing..good point, he's grown on me, over the weeks. Normally I'd go for more beefy types but he's got it, in spades.. It's all very well having a nice ass Mr Henson, but this guy knows how to shake it! :O) Great song 2!
i love how on tour he did the backflips after the routine so len would give him a ten. clever. :) and then robin tumbled to the judges desk after his routine :L
How could they use Matt and Aliona's samba music and use it for the exact same dance.. there's bound to be comparisons made good or bad. AJ's choreo was actually quite bad and the tempo of the music really didn't help his situation at all. This is a good old school samba Aliona is a stunner who did everything basically just that much better..
There is pretty much only wunn thing I disliked about series 8 of strictly. The BBC for once did something right, giving this demoralised programme a fresh start in a wonderful new set that they still utilize today. O, how wonderful and in my opinion the right thing too do, for the greater good of Great Britain. The fact that some of the dances, including this wunn resemble somewhat the dances that would have taken place in the earlier years, doubtless because they were dances without any props at all.

Lol I know this is an old comment, err Aliona was on strictly way before Dianne plus won two trophies amongst her Christmas special and the tour. Plus a better choreographer than Dianne. Dianne isn’t a btec version of Aliona but she sure does not hold a candlelight near her in terms of success. How could you even say that lol.
The judges really annoyed me with matt... they hated when they tried to be differant they scale it back it's not interestring enough... DID NOT LIKE LEN THAT SEASON
Love this dance and love Matt Baker, but Aliona is wearing so little, (whilst he is covered from neck to toe) that it felt intrusive and almost voyeuristic at times, especially when they're doing the samba rolls. I don't care if she's wearing trad samba costume- I just feel the huge disparity between how much flesh each is showing.

I do think she chooses it tho because shes always in skimpy outfits. Maybe she finds it easier to move 🤷♀️
