Metzen's hand drawn concept art was so fucking good. It'd be cool if we got a Warcraft game with that art style.
This was my childhood. Good shit man.
+MatrixTime69 Good shit good shit thats some good shit right there right here
2:17:00 During this mission, I would have a miniature stroke every time he blew an opportunity to build a great hall next to the humans' gold mines.
Been watching your videos for what feels like a long time. Love the content and love the commentary. You've kept the same honest and enjoyable energy and have made many people smile and laugh. Thank you
I appreciate that!
I absolutely love the art style of Warcraft 2. It would look so cool if they remastered it like Starcraft
Brings back memories of getting this for Christmas when I was a kid, loved it so much
NOW THIS IS A REAL RTS!
Man I miss THIS Blizzard.
+Mason Nix Just like EA went to crap stopped making games for gamers and start making money sinks for suits.....

Cut away to Activision's games in 2019. Not Blizzard but Activison shareholders, CEOs, CFOs, CCOs, CZOs, etc. Trim the fat cats already before laying off devs and service reps.
Just came out of your Warcraft 1 playthrough and found 30 more hours to refresh my childhood. Cheers!
When an Ogre dies you can see his balls
Uhhm... how is this the top comment???
@@Awsomememes because people like the comment
aw yes. my after school favorite from back in the day
I love that: "arg?" as if they are just figuring out how to be pirates
Love how the Shipyard sound is reused in WoW in the Auction House.
Man I used to be ADDICTED to this game! Beat it over and over! They took all that was great with Dune II and took it to the next level! I'm watching Mission 3 right now and I remember loving destroying their transport ships before they could deploy wiping out 7 unit at once! Great times!
Watching Mission 5 now. One of things I used to love to do was use the trees as a blockade and chop the wood from the inside and put towers in the openings with backup units near them. My bases used to be virtually impenetrable!
good idea!
The peon revolution around 2:10:00 was absolutely beautiful to see. Seize the means of production!
Edit: My god, the music SLAPS
I loved how excited you are to play it. I'm the same when I play my nostalgia games like Warcraft: Orcs & Humans
this was very first PC game ever. and it was awesome
It wasn't my first pc game, but it was the first game I actually owned.
yeah, I was shocked when I've seen it on the first time... When I was a kid, I was often at marketplace where I was able to see W2 gameplay ^^ I watched it for an hours, like an paralyzed ^^
Yeah it wasnt the very first PC game ever, but i agree its decent for its Years :)
lol warcraft 1 should be older no? i remember i use to play warcraft 1, diablo, duke nukem, assassin warrior, doom and several other game at this time but can't remember wich came first
sebastien T hes playing Warcraft 2 so y Warcraft 1 is older :)
3:16:37 "I would love to." 😂 That was some tense moment, but I laughed - a lot.
I bought this when it came out back in the day. This was one of the games I played the most. I even played it more than the original Command and conquer.
i love how some of the music can be heard in the queue screen of Hearthstone. So gudddddd
The 5th level of both Tides of Darkness campaigns are actually the same battle from both perspectives. The orcs come down from the north in the mainland, raizing a town and building their camp in its place, then invade the human town in the island. While in the human campaign you save the island town and destroy the orc base in the mainland.
The soundtrack of this game is simply AMAZING! Really, still my favorite game soundtrack of all time in 2018. At 1:37 you can feel the badass vibe coming 8)
Nostalgia, thx witi for WC2 gameplay, reminds of back days. :)
Ahhh nostalgia, you beautiful bias drug you
Thanks a lot for doing these videos! Much appreciated!
I love Warcraft 2. It was my first PC game. I’ve beaten all of the campaigns. Beyond the Dark Portal is pretty hard, especially the last orc level. I remember having to begin building a base in the middle of the enemy base right at the beginning of the attack on said base to even stand a chance.
Gotta love that 7 hours in the gameplay has devolved to a huge mosh pit of trolls essentially balling their way through the enemy base making as much goddamn noise as possible.
I’m sorry but I’m laughing so hard. The 3rd go at the tomb of sargaras every save you made was o1 overwriting every good spot you were at.
I was watching Mission 9 and I remember this was when you had to start using Guerilla tactics. You couldn't really do bum rush attacks anymore, you had to start doing strategic strikes to weaken their defenses before the bum rush attack. Or Micro as you call it LOL!
Thanks for doing this mate! cheers! really appreciate it
I kinda had the same experience when I tried a Warcraft 2 playthrough, the idea of the sea maps is pretty cool but with nearly 20 year old AI and pathing it's tough. I think the idea could work well if the controls were more refined, it's logical that you'd use battleships to take out cannon towers then bring guys in on transports, but the controls make it so much more difficult than it should be so then you have to just build these massive armies to win.
I think some pathing improvements and being able to use commands within a control group (land all transports at once) would make it a lot better. That and simply bigger control groups, 9 units is nothing when the units are so easily killed.
Man! thanks for this. I used to play this when I was like 5 years old. I am 21 now and I still love the thing.)
Kora Bark pleasure~
"More work?....leave me alone!!! I don't wanna do that!!!"..lol great game.I am replaying it now,as well :)
Great video man, I love this game so much.
Wow so much hate on the strategy Wtii used. I swear I probably would do the same, but he's playing this like he would WC3, yes it don't work like that, but it's him playing it his way. This post is from the future compared to when this came out, but I love your playthroughs for a long time now. Keep up the good work. I love your newer games you play, and watching you live is awesome.
i dont care bout all the misplays...if you upload 10 hr video of full gameplay, you got my love
It's weird why this play through have less views than WC1 Orc and Humans. Maybe less people played the first and want to see that game. I played it as a kid and it was my first game. I have loved Warcraft ever since.
So many memories... this was my first game.
i always liked how orc buildings in winter looks like a cups of icecream :P
2nd game I played the absolute crap out of, behind Total Annihilation ...Great memories here...Loaded it up myself and been playing again. Kudos man...
600 units in the game total for DOS, for enhanced Bnet edition games 1200 units........and that distributes among the number of players....
You can destroy the gold mines but it takes a long long time lol....
Nice work Wtii
good strategy or not, really fun to watch, I'm starting to play the campaign again and its FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! its been years since I played! good vid mate!
cheers
finding green pasture building like a King!!!
On stage 6 your idea of mass catapults works good if you have guard towers in your enemy base or near them to retreat behind (splash damage wont hurt your towers either!) and if in melee distance they'll always switch to the tower once the catapult is a step away from pursuer, which you can easily repair the tower with a few peons. Guard towers also are stronger then air units like dragons/gryphons in a 1v1 situation and they are more then half the price :)
Fun Fact: It's exactly 51 uninterrupted chops for the peons and peasants to return lumber. :)
p.s sorry for so many comments haha , players who love the game so much and still play it online today like myself tend to get a little caught up on a long video haha :P if war2combat saw your videos he'd probably leave as many comments as well and try to get you to play warcraft 2 with us like I tried convincing you on your previous video haha.
18:25 OK - learned something again about a game from my childhood o.O
used to play this when i was 7 or 8 years old but was too young to remember most anything in terms of storyline, so happy i found this. i STILL have my original warcraft 2 discs.. they just dont work on my laptop xD (probably scratched, but hopeful to other PC compatability reasons). I just started my 12-14 hour per day, mon-fri job. im on my 4th week! day 16 of my 12 to 14 hour work day. thought about your vid here all day long at work, i started watching last night and im at an hour and 47 mins. i even remember the time xD so i can continue watching tonight and not miss a minute! im gonna watch it every night till i've seen the whole warcraft 2, and the dark portal gameplay. so thankful that you made this! makes me want to play xD i just dont have the time. anyways - BEEN WAITING ALL DAY. GTG, TIME TO WATCH! lol. hmu sometime, im trying to become a streamer too
This is an important part of your childhood! Glad you are enjoying, have fun
Beyond the Dark Portal is one of the toughest games I have ever beaten. As a kid I could not beat it. Years later I came back and I remember having to be very creative to get through. I have yet to watch this, but in the orc campaign I remember having to abuse Troll Regeneration.
The intro cutscene's narrator gives such a bewildering delivery. It sounds like he's some kind of alien from another dimension and doesn't understand what english is at all. What the heck is this line reading seriously.
well, orcs are indeed aliens from another dimension who have no idea what english is
there were no professional voice actors in this game, it was voiced by all the people who were working on the game ( not unsual for the time ), pretty sure the orcs are voiced by Rob Pardo
I really like his voice, but his acting isn't good. I wish he improved and acted in other games
I think the orc premission briefings are read by Chris Metzen.
Peasant fight lol this is awesome
Now I want to play. LOL. Old memories.
idk why I decided to start watching this hahaha oh gods
7:58:35 the way the trolls attack nice music xd
3:18:49 actually there's a way to make ship do what you want, but it's all planning as where you put your ship and the exact orders you give and it kinda take some time to get used to
This is awesome. Your videos are super entertaining... i'm currently watching them to get to bed. They definitely help. It's the memories... and/or maybe it's the accent? lol...
Maybe it's everything plus critiquing something that just doesn't really matter?
+trisix99 I think it's these questions that are keeping you up! thanks ^^
+wtiiwarcraft I get to bed eventually. Great videos! It's just because it's a great game. Keep up the cool vids!
+trisix99 cheers, will do
This was quite a bit before my time, never got to play the very first game and only got to play the second one WAY after playing the third one, once I was about 16 or so. I'm still trying to get familiar with this ancient history, but I gotta say - I had no idea how much of an improvement that Warcraft II was on the first game. It really is VASTLY better, and that says a lot for back then. Back then, with Warcraft being as successful as it was, Blizzard could have easily just made what was pretty much just an expansion to the first game with new levels and call it a sequel. But this game actually took what was there, and made it much, much better.
You are awesome. :D I laughed so much because your voice over is so funny sometimes. xD
LtJackMorton Thank you kindly, glad you had some fun with it~
4:43:10 you should use death coil, it cost 100 magic and deal 50 damage to one unit (two if possible and you have 200 magic) and return that health to the death knight, healing them.
on Mission 9 orcs you spent too much money on Berserkers on the first try haha, all the research you put into it was enough for 8 juggernauts at the least haha, which could've taken out every cannon tower on the map if microed correctly! :) Juggernaut Imbalance! :P and with the 3K gold you had left you could have built Altar of storms, researched mages and lust and barely just would've had the bloodlust tech to destroy the top right base to then long distance mine it to take tyrs bay :p well played on the second try though! My only advice would be, if you've got a blacksmith. Research your level 1 weapons and armour upgrades at least as soon as possible :P a few grunts at lvl 3 or 4 is a nice defence early on, specially if the enemy was using level 1 knights :p
A very interesting game is Hero And Empires, a custom game in Warcraft 3 a long game better played with multi player. Takes time and practice to get good. Very challenging, and very time consuming. I hope one day you'll make a series on it with sexytime and a couple of other fans who are familiar with it. Thanks for posting this!
+Nondogmatic Yesh I'll make a note thanks
+wtiiwarcraft Only 10h? GIT GUD, Casual!
ahh watching this in almost 2017 definitely makes me notice a lot of references. References from the future~ the funny thing is
Nostalgia, I had the regular Warcraft 2 on Playstation 1, wicked shit!
The first WarCraft and the 3rd are the best imo
The neat thing about the hardcopy of warcraft 2 is that I remember if you put the disc in a CD player, you can play the game music like an audio disc.
Warcraft 2 had a great soundtrack
10 hour video and more than 130k people watched it.. *Grabs chips and drinks* lets do this..
Warcraft II - Let's see it through.
Now that's a short video we got here
I played this few years ago but after the few first missions it gets really hard.
Stage 13 Tomb of Sargeras trolled you really hard haha, Death Knights are a good counter since they learn whirlwind and death and decay at that level which D&D is great for annihilating everything when the death knight is hasted. :P
if you attacked there gold mines alot sooner with 6-12 ogres bloodlusted you could have easily knocked one ai out :p the blue one dies easier usually, just gotta instantly hit the towers with a juggernaut or lust!
I watched the first 3 hours befor I fell asleep so I think I did good
Hi, thanks for answering my email regarding this video. All the best Tomas
I dont have a laptop can this b played on a console?
9:05:02 all the human units match exactly point for point the horde units, except for the spell of the ogre-magi/paladin and the mage/death-knights also for one skill of the ranger/beserker. beside that they are carbon copy
9:38:35
Basically, all the Orc campaign happens, except they're routed during the seige of Lordaeron, due to splitting the Horde in two in order to punish Gul'dan's treachery, thus allowing the Alliance to counter attack the weakened Horde outside the city walls and start rolling them back south through Khaz Modan, and finally ending the war at the Dark Portal.
So the last Orc mission happens concurrently with the one where you destroy the Stormreaver and Twilight's Hammer clans, and then the Human campaign is the continuation of that, where the Alliance has gained the upper hand and has but to mop up the retreating Horde.
That's the premise for Beyond the Dark Portal, the Horde being defeated and the Portal being destroyed by Khadgar.
Ah... at last! This is more like it!
Now I remember why it was so satisfying to use god mode and send in one grunt to wreck huge bases lol
The last level of the Dark Portal is the hardest level ever! Among all strategy games.
5:29:50 catapults man, use the catapults to pelt their juggernaught with flaming rocks!
When I a kid I loved Warcraft 2 like a religion. But it was very hard.
Best RUclipser for ever.
You should of made an altar of storms on the tyre bay mission
You can play The Tides of Darkness campaign with humans and orcs on Warcraft 3 too, you can download it on The Hive Workshop
The ships are really op in this game.
i dont want to brag but im not a expert at rts but i love them, but this level i actually was about to ogre rush with 3 transports.
Orges were upgraded to magi, and then i just bloodlusted them on the island for steam roll.
Yeah the fort was worth it because you can build an alter of storms to get bloodlust for your ogres.
Thanks for this Wtii
ICh weiss nicht lol, avenge your younger self & defeat it!
wtiiwarcraft for sure :D
+ICh weiss nicht are you going to waste money on game? really justt download cracked version from thepiratebay
+Sans The skeleton cracked version users are loners, since those usually aren't compatible with online multiplayer
7:30 Damn just realized they used the Warcraft 2 music in Hearthstone.
2:49:09 juggernaught are power bul but can't attack air and also cost much more are slower and their attack speed is in the gutter, your need to pair them with some destroyer, even if the destroyer are just a diversion cause the juggernaught also have a very high cost and take time to build
awesome sauce. I missed playing this game cuz I had no PC back in the day so I'll just watch your playthrough instead. btw you wouldn't by any chance know how to remapping the keys around so I can use WASD to move the camera around for Warcraft 3 instead of the arrow keys do you? been looking around online but can't find anything but something called keycraft which seems to let me remap every hot key but not the camera...
I don't know how to change camera movement hotkeys but you can of course change the hotkeys for most things by editing the CusomKeyInfo.txt file in your Warcraft III directory (make sure to save a copy of it before editing).
If you did change the camera movement to WASD that would cause issues with various other normal hotkeys such as A for Attack and S for Stop ^^
wtiiwarcraft hmm... yeah it's okay. thank you for the response.. I will just have to play warcraft 3 with the default key mapping.
It's just I am spoiled as a late bloomer RTS player and figured out how to do it in SC2 and DoW2. no worries tho. I will overcome. Slainte.
WhirlingWolves
good luck~
Damn you got so easy on that Tomb of Sargeras mission at 5:10:00 point.
I managed to get myself fubar in the human07 level, built a lumbermill while I was destroying their greathall, didnt have enough to build my own town hall! :P
It hasn't been 20 years since you've played this, as Warcraft Orcs and Humans has only just hit 20 years.
I'm pretty sure he means the actual warcraft 2 without any DLC's.
Wow this was painful to watch. I haven't played Warcraft 2 since the late 90s but remember basic strategy. Despite being attacked by transport ships over and over, you do absolutely nothing to build up your base defenses and then act surprised when a knight and a few archers decimate your peons, costing you thousands in gold to replace not to mention a lot of time. You neglect to build watch towers as well as upgrade them and when you're on the offensive, you unload transport ships in a single area, attack farms before guard towers and barracks, and bring oil and transport ships against armed enemy ships. You fail to defend oil rigs and new bases. Arghh!!
+kevin15776 I also don't get why he seems to keep using the Attack function from the commands bar instead of just right-clicking his target...
+kevin15776 To be fair, he has played WC3 for like 5 years competitively. Everything here you just said is an absolutely stupid idea in WC3, so his intuition is to do these things.
In WC3, base defenses are mostly useless aside from Human's Arcane and Guard Tower and Undead's Spirit and Nerubian Tower.
Attacking Farms is always a good idea in WC3 because the food management is done a lot better, you'll actually supply-block people that way and Moon Wells are very good to take down.
Naval is entirely unused in WC3, so he's never had experience with it before.
Generally, harassment is far less effective in WC3 than in WC2 so he's not use to having to defend from it constantly.
+kevin15776 Well thats why everybody plays warcraft 3
Yup you're totally right! He's so used to WC3 strategies that he automatically does them in WC2 but that doesn't exactly works like this XD
backflipmann Wait, your supposed to attack farms before towers in Warcraft 3? I've been doing it wrong this whole time.
No catapult left behind!
Original Classic ❤️
all units have indetical stats. thats why the footman are not as strong as grunts in warcraft 3. makes sense since orcs are pretty brutal
Warcraft 2 was the BOMB
Ahh memories i remember when i was 10 i had copy of this game and red alert and i was thinking which one is better. Lol look at where westwood is now :)
So basically Blizzard was Undertale before Undertale was made
You mean lauded constantly from every outlet to the point where even the mention of the name became intolerable?
I would love to have seen that.
*****
No but pointing fun at things of the game physics and gameplay that you would usually not do.
Like Undyne pointing out if you intentionally take all hits from her or if you have full inventory, Sans will stack the hotdog sausage on your head instead.
How in Warcraft 2 if you constantly click on the same unit for no reason he will become annoyed
Blizzard is a company and undertale is a game... So nothing in commom...?
Your base building skills are out of this world. Like some TAS robot. But your attack strategies are so reckless. It's hilarious
You've got mad skills
I remember playing this game on the internet when i was 6 :P
It was a flash game was almost entirely the same as this
Did anyone else notice that the Warcraft 2 music is the same as the Pet Battle music in WoW? LOL :)
i remember this game
6:00:00
Always found that the best way to do this level is to land on the main island and take over the Stormreaver Clan's (blue) base. Easy pickings after that :D
Very ballsy but if doable, yeah that would be great
Best defence is an offence, they say :D
That is my preferred method to pass that level (I replay the various Warcrafts every now and then).
I thought of it after having the same sort of trouble you were having with it. Your army and navy are strong enough to do it if you move you ships around while fighting the enemy vessels, they stay stationary and miss lots of hits, same for the cannon towers. Then you just need to mop up the defenders with your army, and set up your base.
Later in Beyond the Dark Portal, which I guess I'll be watching you play through later, there's a level where you have to set up a base from nothing with...three human bases..? where I've found that they're only building them as the level starts, so you can attack and destroy at least one before they become a major threat, taking their base along they way. It's got your mate Teron Gorefiend in it, too. I'll probably comment on that when I get to it, lol.
