It is important for mental health to do things by yourself when you are a mom and wife. I am proud of you for taking that much-needed time. Normally I take 1/2 hour to do something for myself and I feel bad that I'm not spending time with hubby or son. So, go for it. Do it as often as you can. It doesn't make you a bad mom or wife. It is important for your health.

Hi I absolutely love both of your channels and love your family dynamic, not to mention your cookbook. My kids are grown and I can't tell you the importance of taking time for yourself and recharge your batteries. I was a single mom and my friends and family would be gracious enough to take my kids for a few hours and/or day(s) to allow me time to myself. It's hard to not feel guilty. I always think of what they say before the flights take off, put your mask on first before helping anyone else. Love and light!!!

I think you should have tried the whole weekend, but not sure if Nate can truly handle that. Hahaha! Maybe take a day off every month or two and you don't have to spend it alone, you can hang out with your girlfriends. Erisy's conversation about dinner was too funny, but that next phone call with you was just too sweet! Good job with the kids, Nate!

Great job on this video Nate & Dzung! This video was so awesome in so many ways, I could leave a page-long comment lol! Love how you showcased every mom's simple wish of getting alone time & being able to be responsible free, even if it's for a short time, love how you were able to eat out alone, even though it's out of your comfort zone & loved your open dialogue in the vlog. Your "new" content is relatable, fun & keeps my interest 😁 Keep up the great work Dzung!

  • @janereggievia

As a fellow mom of two, I laughed a little when you asked Erisy if she had veggies and she said no, I'm always asking the same question too whenever the kids are with their dad. At first, I was irritated, but then after few times leaving them I'm like "Ya, whatever. They still eating tho." 😂
Also, to think about it, I never really live alone. I lived with my 3 roomates in a dorm during college, then moving in again with my parents, then married. I rarely have a chance to live alone for 24 hr. Maybe I should show this video to my husband and let's see how he thinks 🤔
So happy about your new experience, Dzung! Also kudos to Nate as a supportive spouse!

I used to go on a women's retreat for a weekend with women from my church once a year, and then also with a couple of girlfriends. It was so good to be reacquainted with myself. After a few years and a few kids, it was so nice to realise I actually liked who I was when I wasn't refereeing arguments, bossing people around, arguing with children who didn't want to do what they were asked..etc etc. Best two days of the year in so many ways. I would always come back refreshed.

I was thinking, yes living alone may seem great for 24 hours but living alone all the time is not easy and having people around the house makes life easier emotionally. But then I saw the shot of your kids being kids and I didn't know how fast to click away and think - thank god I live alone and don't have any kids.

One of the things that saved me back in the day was learning to take a break. Mom mode is ongoing but we have to take that time to recharge. Its important for our health and overall wellbeing. I very rarely have the house to myself but when I go I enjoy it fully🙂. Now that our kids are older (teenagers and young adults)they know if I say I'm going out for a bit it's no big deal. I enjoy the quietness but I realize me being with my family is home 🙂

I'd give anything to have a loving husband and kids. If your home is out of control with kids screaming all the time, that's a discipline issue. Kids don't need to see on the internet that mommy and/or daddy needed to get away from them.
