He's so perfect that he can cosplay every thing and he can be anyone
Thorns having dark skin fits the lore, as he's from Iberia and in real life, Iberian Peninsula was once ruled by the Moors who had darker skin ( brown ) than native Europeans/Iberians.

So apparently, Thorns said that his bloodline in the past have a white skin and smooth hair, but because of the conflict somewhere beneath the ocean. His ancestors fled to Iberia and that's the reason why their hair becomes frizzy and their skin turned black.
It's also said that most Aegir's who stays on the surface always need water for sustenance or else they will become dry. It seems like Thorns and his ancestors are the only Aegir's who doesn't need water even if they're on the surface.
Additional info: I forgot where i've read this, but somebody said that Iberia's temperature is scorching hot especially on desert regions like Sargon.
But man you gotta admit it, sea urchins are built different.

Isn't Thorns based on the Crown-of-Thorns Starfish rather than the Sea Urchin? Operators tend to have something in the name that refers to the animal they're based off of whenever it's posible
Do you perhaps meant the "Crown of thorns" starfish? It's a starfish with poisonous thorns on it's upper body that is pretty lethal to humans.

Honestly it's pretty unsure. But we know that it's one of those 2 or even those 2 combined. The name and the star motif might indicate the COT starfish, but he has also appeared in some official media with a sea urchin

Listening to his backstory makes me to definitely want a rework on abyssal hunters, their talents should work with Aegir ops too because the actual roster of AH is kinda BS (as a team not as individuals)
