The venn diagram of people who are obsessed with office supplies and DnD players is almost certainly a circle lol. Your notebook is amazing and definite goals.
Yeah, you can put me in that Venn diagram, too. I'm an office supplies geek and a DM. I'm like a little kid in a candy store when I go to Staples or Office Depot.
This is such a great idea, why have I not thought of this before? I love the scrapbook style of your journal it is beautiful and unique. I've been playing D&D for years and years now and have never thought about this, brilliant!
Love how the Electrum space on everyone’s character sheet is always empty LOL! This was such a cute spread! Definitely going to use this as inspiration for my next d&d character journal.
This is so precious!! 🥺🥺 Find it hard to justify this myself for my virtual games, and my only IRL game I am the DM, but would love to do this one day for a future home game! 🥹💖
thank you brizzy!! (i've been watching your videos since I was a teen so it means an extra lot that you enjoyed it! ❤) my games are actually also virtual, and I find that having a physical notebook helps it feel more like a home game, but I definitely feel that about finding it harder to justify in a virtual space!
Amazing D&D journal. As a stationary nerd and a bullet journal addict, this pleases me on so many levels. Also i got a lot of new ideas. Thank you so much. Very inspiring video. Keep up the awesome work.
I love the fact that you separate your IRL notes from character notes by the types of paper! Probably gonna steal that for myself when I start playing!
I’m curious about D&D but haven’t actually started playing I think the customization of things would probably make the experience more enjoyable. Looking into casting types since I always gravitate to support types on mmorpg and love their aesthetic.
It's one of my favourite parts! I definitely lean more into vibes and flavour than minmaxing- I play support on both of my characters (with a focus on healing for my cleric and exploration/rp for my wizard) and I love it! spellcasters are my personal faves too ✨
It’s so cool how in depth you can make the characters. I always thought D & D was really dark but the way you handle it here proves that it’s really only as dark as you make it :)
Tabs and flags can really help with this kind of thing. I will generally color-code important events, first meetings, and acquisition of a particular item or clue in my notes. Not only does it really jazz up the spine (bonus!) but it helps if we want to remember the context around something when it first cropped up in notes. Tabletop is also the only circumstance where I've found digital scrapbooking helpful. You can still get fancy with everything and use handwriting (with the right laptop or tablet) but most note-taking apps will allow you to search your handwriting afterwards.
Great work! To have a player that takes such wonderful notes is amazing to a DM, even though you use it to help you concentrate it is still keeping you engaged in the game.
How does it feel to live my dream? Nah in all seriousness, never thought of a D&D journal but it makes so much sense to have one and yours is so stunning! The little details and all!
I've been watching a lot of videos about dnd character journals in preparation for my next campaign, and your journal is STUNNING! I love your handwriting and how you have the pages in order. Definitely taking some inspiration from you. Thanks for making this!!
I ordered my binder from amazon and I'm so excited for it to get here so I can start my own journal for my DnD/Novel character. And thank you so much for linking the modular character sheet!
Glad this came up in "Recommended"!d I've been junk journaling for a few years now (great craft during the pandemic), and I love D&D. I'm gonna have to put something together, thanks for the walk-through!
Thanks so much for making this video!! I love your journal so much 😭 I'm gonna go buy the same notebook from michael's today and hopefully i can get everything together for the start of a new campaign this Saturday! Also thanks for sharing the links to the printables!
This is awesome!! I struggle to take notes when playing/find a system that works for me. I just found your channel and I love your content! I would absolutely love a video going more in detail on your particular way of taking session notes. ❤️
I would laminate the sheets, so I can write and rewrite them in the future. But it would be wonderful to be able to reminisce after the whole adventure is finished one day 🤔
That’s the thing I’m most looking forward to- keeping it after the adventure as a memory book! And the nice thing about printable sheets is that you can re-print them as many times as you need, so you can print the same journal for all of your characters!
This is exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you for sharing! I've been letting other party members take notes but I think I need to start doing my own so I know what is happening every time.
I love how you've made the character sheet into modular cut-outs and arranged them so nicely. I love it so much I'm choosing to do that to convert a Pathfinder second edition character sheet into a small notebook. Thank you so much for sharing! It's so nice and I am so inspired.
That's a great idea! I feel like my extensive notes would have to be boiled down and then written into this sort of system. But I love this system! Thank you so much for the video!^^
Thank you for sharing! I just started playing DCC and this video gave me so many ideas on how to organize my own journal. Best of luck in your adventure ~
Amazing Idea! I think the best part is how modular it can be since its an A5 Binder! No more worries about running out of paper since you can always refill.
The notebook is not really my style, but it is gorgeous and it looks like it's super-organised and works really well for you! You did give me some inspiration for my own binder so thank you for this video! :)
Wonderful! You mentioned that you had a notetaking system that works for you? Would you be into sharing? I'm the party's designated notetaker and I've changed my notetaking style at least thrice now XD
This is very cute. DnD Beyond is so convenient for keeping all your character info that I never got the appeal of doing it on paper. This makes me want one…
Ooh, I just used an 18 last night to Counterspell (for the first time!) a higher-level teleportation spell from an NPC we were trying to have a conversation with, so that was a very exciting one!
i watched this video and immediately went and ordered everything i need for this XD i may be a forever dm but by god i will find a campaign to play in so i can do this!!
This look fun! I’m curious about how it works in action. And it also takes me back to my AD&D days, but our note taking system was very simple and boring hahaha
This is so pretty and honestly really useful? In one of the campaigns i’m in every session will feature a lot of lore and important information and I would love to be a good notetaker but my notes always suck! I have 3-4 different half empty notebooks full of random notes from sessions which I can’t make out later at all. I’ve got to try this kind of a scrapbook thing also! :-)
I'm very digital with my DnD note taking. I scribble the high points and any particularly memorable bits on a note pad on my laptop as we play and, as I get the time, I transfer it all to an Airtable. (Airtable is essentially a website with various charts. Think fancy excel, but with more visual options available, and not great for math. Highly recommend if digital organization is appealing to you, for anything.) Because of the way I made my table, I also have a calendar of the sessions and an overview of my goals for the character(s) ahead of time. I definitely appreciate that my ADHD hyperfixates on these tables. But I also love the look of this journal and the scrap book style. My heart is torn between loving my organization and loving this aesthetic.
Ooh I love this idea! My notes are definitely more in character and less organized (both of my gals are quite scatterbrained) but I love the idea of having a digital database for a character too!
Master the Dungeon is that you?! I was going nuts because your voice was so familiar !! Gorgeous notebook I’m prepping to run a new campaign and I’m stealing a few of your organizational ideas!
That's the beauty of d&d- you can be whoever you want to be and taking on a character can definitely help bring you out of your shell!! Sending you all the confidence!
The first half seems like it would be easier to just keep on a character sheet. But the note-taking and other information is beautiful. I'm in desperate need of an alternate system than just writing everything down and your concise, elegant style is really inspiring.

Wow this would get wrecked the way I play, I’m a ‘is that a scrap of random paper? Cool, that’s my inventory for this new item’. Congrats to you for making a way that works for you though.
I love this! My notes from 30 sessions are currently across 3 thick notebooks because my handwriting is atrocious and I write more than our DM thinks any of us do. 😂 Been needing a new way to organise them so its easier to find things instead of going "huh, we heard of a gnome by that name 8 sessions ago, hang on!" and having to grab a different book. I've got a level 6 high elf wizard, who absorbs knowledge like there's no tomorrow. The trouble is separating what I know from what she knows!
Thank you! I definitely understand the challenge between notes in character and notes that you as a player know! You could always use a different colour of pen or marker to denote your own theories versus your wizard's- it's a strategy I've been considering trying out for my wizard as well!
Really great video. Do people in your campaign draw there characters? If not where would you store that picture in your journal? Did you buy a special journal or just a leather covered journal?

The dotted A5 paper was just from Amazon! I was pleasantly surprised at how it didn’t shadow despite being pretty thin paper. The more orange kraft sheets were also from Amazon and the darker brown kraft was from Michael’s!

You mentioned Lola was a rogue before, was that part of her backstory or did it happen in game? I have a character I recently created that I'm thinking of switching his class but I want it to make sense in the game. Your Rouge comment really stuck out to me lol
She was a rogue until level 9, and then for plot reasons she multiclassed into cleric! I did her as a rogue/cleric multi for two levels and then there was another plot event where Lola was willing to give her own life for the party- this caught the deity’s interest and my dm offered me the option to reclass all my levels to cleric. I had talked to her about how I wished I’d played a class with more spells, so it was something we’d already discussed. Definitely talk to your dm and see if they have any ideas about how to make it work in character- it can make for a really cool story moment! ✨
The M is the modifier I believe, so whatever the base modifier for the score is, and S is for what the saving throw is, since the saving throw modifier is often different from the base modifier depending on which saving throws you add your proficiency bonus to!
They are from amazon! I've used a couple different kinds: searching for refillable A5 planner paper (or something along those lines) will bring up a few options!

I cut standard printer sized card stock (8.5 x 11) to fit! Each page of card stock gave me 2 A5 sized pages!
New to D&D here. On the ability scores what are the sections for M and S used for? I got the same printable and I can't figure it out.
The M is the modifier I believe, so whatever the base modifier for the score is, and S is for what the saving throw is, since the saving throw modifier is often different from the base modifier depending on which saving throws you add your proficiency bonus to!

Brilliant
Where did you get your Kraft and dot grid paper?
They are from amazon! I've used a couple different kinds: searching for refillable A5 planner paper (or something along those lines) will bring up a few options!
