I think the critics here are missing the point of his message. He's not asking you to be just like him but to be the best you can be while still taking time to stop and smell the roses. Have a goal, a vision and the belief that you can fulfill it. Whether it's being the greatest bodybuilder of all time, the governor of California ... or BOTH!! Other motivational speakers just want to sell you something, collect a few dollars from sales and disappear

    • @scienz

@@scienz Yes, it is. You can be anyone. You need to study, study and study. You need to get out of your comfort zone and go befriend a guy/woman with connections instead of insulting them for being whores. You need to give up on your drinking friends - the people you grew up with but their goal is to go clubbing on Friday night. Then if you can do this sacrifice and have the strong believe you will achieve anything you want.

And he wrote a bunch of books. Big deal. And he starred in 14 movies even though we couldn't really understand what the hell he was saying. Action flicks AND comedies. And then what... Governor a couple times? Big whoop. Anyone can do that.

Not everything in life has to be grand gestures, hard work and set to an inspirational video and soundtrack. Fuck it. Sometimes getting lost and just drifting, looking at the small things in the undergrowth, is all we need.

Faked my way to an office job and even did better than most uni guys though never got promoted coz didn't want anyone looking through my background. Now am married, manage my own time, married to a beautiful talented gal ten years younger than me who adores me. Own my own shop and even have plans of opening a new one. Yes I watch RUclips but to learn new things. I believe the internet will give guys like me a better chance. I even remember one day I worked so hard and had a chemical accident on my hands, didn't stop workin though I was leaving bloody handprints everywhere. After which I'd go home to th e workers quarters with about twenty guys sharing one room. One bathroom making about a dollar and fifty cents a day back then. But never complained just did as best I could and waited for a better chance. Arnold's right.

I do understand what you're saying. I have aspergers. I'm 33 years old. I'm actually quite happy with life. I'm not going looking for anything. What ever the environment throws at me, I will happily accept. Maybe my brain adapted to have that way of thinking because it works. The benefit of being appreciative and not going looking for anything and being able to rapidly adapt is higher than the cost later of not getting what I could have gotten. Since I have aspergers, I can keep doing my own thinking independently of my past and don't need to build on past results and not get bored by it. Since there are already existing problems, I tried to come up with solutions and write them to my MP but I never went looking for problems to solve and if there were none, I would have probably been happy with it.
I think what you're saying is other people had something they really wanted to accomplish so they should keep working hard at it so that they will be happy. If they really have trouble totally letting everything go like me, the best way to fill them with energy to do it is to have them truly pick up the mind set of an older person who didn't get it done and was unhappy. Then they'll feel like they have a second past branch in that person and then see that it's like they were given a lot more life by surprise and and be all full of energy to work hard on it.

maybe it sounds a little nuts, but Wylie coyote was and STILL at 60yrs old my hero.
He may not have ever got the roadrunner, BUT HE NEVER GAVE UP EITHER!!!
That's life, and life ain't always fair and it's usually always kinda hard, being a stupid quitter just makes it harder!

Not everyone can do this, it basically comes down to genetics, most people would become ill working too hard and sleeping for 6 hours.
There's a reason humans fit into a bell curve and 'only 2% understand this' sure if you want to be in the 2% go for it, but not everyone can.
Reminder, if everyone is extraordinary then by definition nobody is.

@@connertaherian5166 No they can't, 98% of population would burn out with that lifestyle. Go ask a psychiatrist. You must be blessed with a great stress resilience and high energy level and rapid recovery mechanisms to work that hard all day with so little rest, and this is where it comes down to genetics.

@Kisra David Meaning isn't a given, rather,it's something that is gradually unearthed. It's the person themselves that creates the feeling of life having meaning,by discovering what activity or activities provide the greatest joy, pleasure and satisfaction, and then committing to improving at it,so it can continue being a source of pleasure and satisfaction throughout life(or at least until you've sucked out all the life-enhancing benefits it has for you,at which point you move onto other things that by then have more to offer.).
