  • We have mentioned the wonders of gua sha so many times but, did you know it helps to nourish the skin by increasing microcirculation up to 400%, leaving you a with healthier and glowing complexion?
    It also stimulates the #acupressurepoints on the face, which is a simple way to support your organs internally. #Chinesemedicine recognises that facial beauty is linked to the organs in this way - the state of your health is literally reflected in your face.
    Watch Chinese medicine practitioner, Katie Brindle, as she shows how to perform a gua sha ritual using the Hayo'u oil, the Jade and Clear Beauty Restorers and the Jade Precision Tool.

    I saw several videos that state to hold the jade stone flat on your skin as you move it upward and not use the edge to scrape against the skin on your face. They said to do it slowly and mindfully and not tug. She’s doing the exact opposite and she is rushing through it so quickly. When I do it I like to take it slowly and really enjoy the process since life itself seems to rush by. It’s like a spa experience for me. I put on soft background music and drag the tool slowly over each area of my face and it really feels like I’m pampering myself. I’ve also heard some people say to move the jade down your neck versus upward since you are helping drain the fluids that accumulate during the day. I suppose it’s best to do a little research before you begin. Also, be very gentle around the eyes. That skin underneath is so thin and delicate.

      Yeah she definitely had her own method. I also like using it as flat as possible and going slower with a good oil, though sometimes I don't have that kind of time lol. But it doesn't feel like it works well going fast, and since it's really meant for lymphatic drainage, I don't know how fast you can force those fluids out of you lol

      Agreed and also use one hand to hold the skin tight, so it's a 2 hand treatment.

    Honestly, the only difference I can see is that the right side of your face looks more hydrated because of the oil application. Maybe it's just not translating well on screen. In any event, I cannot use any oil on my face, so what can I use instead? Moisturizer for sensitive skin?

      Yes and no. Upward strokes for "lifting" but downward strokes for draining lymphatic fluid from the glands: you always want to flush in the direction towards the heart.

    Ps; you look double of carmen Electra, she used to be on baywatch back in the day with Pamela Anderson…. Carmen Electra looks so much like you, she is also very beautiful like you…. I know very irrelevant to the topic but just thought I’d let you know LOL.

    What I noticed, initially, is that the side of the face worked on (right side) already had a lifted look, compared to the other (left) side.
    The video would have been more impactfull if the left side of the face were gua sha'ed, rather than the right side because the right side already had a more lifted look.
    I think it's possible that the right side may have possibly looked more lifted than it did before working on it, but nearly impossible to tell if this was my imagination because, as mentioned, the right side appeared, to me, to look more lifted than the left side at the beginning of the video.

    • @caseys.2371
      @caseys.2371 2 года назад +3

      Part way through the video, I had the same reaction. I went back to the beginning and yes, the right side already looks more "lifted" than the left. So my initial excitement waned when I discovered this. Shame, I was very hopeful for this method/product. Regardless, this woman is very lovely and I certainly hope I mature as gracefully as she has.

    • @alleyj826
      @alleyj826 Год назад

      The side is more lifted (you definitely see it in the brow) but if you look at the overall plumpness of her face, that side looks way more youthful. It for sure smoother and plumped the lines around her mouth. The side she didn’t do, the skin itself looks dull.

    • @marshmalotoast
      @marshmalotoast Год назад +1

      Yes you are correct. My face is like this - I am a side sleeper so one side is less plump and one eye a bit more lidded. Very annoying but she should have used other side as this was already different

      This is completely different than the experts I've seen qua sha. You're supposed to hold your fingers a certain way as you are moving the gua sha on the flat surface against your skin. Never upright like this. You always start up from your neck going up to your jaw all the way around, not from the top down. Then once you get to the top of your forehead you slide it all the way down to the side of your face, down to your neck then it angle to your collarbone to drain the lymphatic system - at least to my understanding of watching/preforming this for many years is the way it's supposed to be. I mean maybe her way is working for her and she knows a different way but I don't know...🤷🏻‍♀️

      Seriously, she’s pulling the heck out of her face! She’s very pretty, but the wrinkles are there (so what) and pulling on her face isn’t going to make it better, but worse! Putting that stone in her mouth and stretching it out and then scraping on it. I don’t get this at all. To gently move it over your face to increase blood flow to feel good, maybe, but not all that pulling.

      Traditionally even a ceramic spoon was used! I think the stones are more for aesthetic and psychological pleasure rather than any functional benefit. I have 3 - white and pink quartz and a jade one - but I LOVE polished stones (diamonds are my absolute favourite LOL). Seriously, I haven't found any difference - and I started doing this years ago with a PLASTIC tool I got from Daiso - all same same!

    I didn’t see any improvement to her wrinkles on the side she rubbed her magic crystals on, you aren’t supposed to rub Gua Sha down your neck. The unworked Side of her face looks better, seems like she is pulling on her skin, which will just create saggy skin.

  • @TourniquetTwin

    Ummm….arent you supposed to hold the stone at an angle of about 10-45 degrees? Why are you using it like a scraper knife?
    Honestly, I just do it cause I like semiprecious rocks in my skin and it feels nice to massage my face with them. Yeah, my skin is flushed afterwards, but honestly, other than perhaps improving lymphatic drainage, this is just a sensory stim, and nothing more.
    Also, I most definitely wouldn’t out the oily rock in my mouth.

  • @JanetSmith900

    It just looks like you’re pulling on your skin. What’s the point of this? You still have wrinkles on your face. Nothing wrong with that. You’re very beautiful, obviously. Let’s all just accept aging and live life. If it’s just to feel good, great. But it’s not going to stop your skin from aging.

Probably best to leave them in the earth so we can all benefit, if there is any actual benefit.
