Bio:
Rising pop star Dorian Electra (pronouns: they/them/theirs) makes music that defies gender norms. In the past year, their work has gained a queer cult following and led to them being named a must-know talent by Buzzfeed and one of PAPER Magazine's "100 Women Revolutionizing Pop." Not only that, but Electra has also quickly built a dedicated fan base thanks to their futuristic spin on 00s pop, 80s funk, and a long-standing love of satirizing rigid gender roles and views on sexuality. A frequent Charli XCX collaborator, Electra was featured on the Pop 2 track "Femmebot (feat. Dorian Electra & Mykki Blanco)." They have also played live with XCX at a number of self-curated shows and after parties. In 2018, Electra performed at NYC Pride, toured with British pop sensation Rina Sawayama and supported Russian group PussyRiot on their first U.S. tour. Electra's last three singles and music videos, "Career Boy," "Adam & Steve," and "Man To Man" have garnered press and playlist spots from Billboard, The Fader, and Nylon among others. 2019 welcomes the release of Dorian Electra's debut album "Flamboyant" and first headlining tour.

@@MisterSpleenlol It depends on the person! I'd been through a surgery once before so I wasn't going in blind, plus I watched a lot of videos on the subject of top surgery to get myself acquainted. The scariest part is after, I think, when you have drains and there's a fear of getting them caught on something. And the fear of your fresh stitches coming undone if you move wrong. This is an irrational fear, but one I faced during my first few weeks. As far as expenses go, it depends on who you go to. Mine was around $7500, paid out of pocket, because the surgeon wouldn't take insurance. However, some do, but I'm not sure what the out of pocket expense is for that. Do your research into top surgeons for pricing and insurance. If they take insurance, talk to your inaurance about what they'll cover. It's usually outlined in the policy.
Also note that some surgeons require a therapist letter. Mine did. Others go by informed consent. I hope this helped!

i think dorian has had the most profound impact on me. I think (?) im cys gender and bicurious, but i've always been into the feminine side. I'd wear my moms heels, as her to do my makeup, etc. During middle school i was bullied for being gay and have some internalized homophobia. Dorian has taught me its ok to be feminine, and it doesnt make me gay. Its ok to be emotionally vulnerable as a guy, and that i am loved by at least one person out there. i love u dorian.

This song holds such power for me. I've been struggling with gender identity since I was 12, awkwardly going back and forth from an FTM identity to cis until landing semi-comfortably in the genderfluid range. I kept having this mentality that I either have to fully pass as masc or fem but seeing Dorian miss-mash things into a wonderful and fitting identity for themself gives me such a confidence boost and gives me the courage to search for the best way to present myself so I'm fully comfortable. Dorian if you see this, from every cell in my being, thank you so so much.

In Mesopotamian mythology, among the earliest written records of humanity, there are references to types of people who are neither male nor female.
