Looks like a good set-up. We've got the girls out with the big girls. Lots of action in both our flocks! Cheers!

Such a thoughtful and excellent set-up for your flock integration!
In my experience, it doesn't seem to matter if a hen hatched the new members. Once the little ones are full size and added to the current flock, they are "competition" and treated like a not-so-welcome stranger...even by the hatch-mama! I hope yours prove different!
I HATE the pecking-order behavior, don't you? I spend a lot of time with my little flock and discourage it as much as possible. I don't care if it's "natural" to chickens, I don't like it. They can, and do, learn. My rooster is a sweetie and he knows the word "no", and watches me and listens to me. My girls, too, but...I must admit, I 've showered my one boy with loving affection since I "adopted" him at 2 days old, 5 years ago. I love on my girls, too, just as you do😄🐔 My methods have worked fairly well, I think. 🌻
I love how you love your feathered babies. Many blessings 🌻🌻🌻

I love your name, I named my garden “The rooted heart garden”. Kinda similar!
