Michigan became the first FBS team since Minnesota in 1903 to hold 15 different opponents under 25 points in a season. Michigan became the first national champion to have a lead at halftime in every game it played since Miami in 2001. Michigan became the first team in Big Ten football history to finish a 15-0 season.

Their defense will be strong right from the beginning and once their offense gets moving the way they want to after two or three games they could be extremely good by the time they go to Columbus at the end of November.

Very insightful Spring Game. We are good at the QB position. We have identified 2 that are ready with differing styles. Orgi can morf into Denard Robinson on steroids and Davis Warren can sling it around. RB room is 4 deep at least who must play. The front four DL combined will be the best in the country. OL has been well developed as far as getting in the weight room while those draft picks were playing ahead of them. We are reloaded. It’s going to be another good year.

I liked what I saw from Orji with his ability to run the ball. I even liked how his numbers looked at the end of the day. My only issue is that I never saw him go to a second or third read and so I am concerned that he might not be the guy that this offense finds its best success around. I am hoping that I'm wrong but Orji does make me a little nervous in terms of better defenses having answer for him but maybe not. After all, thisnis college ball and he has 4 more months to learn as much as he can.

Warren and Orji both looked great. I wouldn't be surprised to see both of them get a lot of playing time this year. I think I am personally leaning towards Warren (this is all personal opinion) just because we already have the Don and Mulligans in the backfield so we have dynamic runners.

  • @woodshed_moments
    @woodshed_moments Месяц назад +1

This is going to be a spotted bag of tricks at best… but not at all a bad place to be in. Orji looks fantastic, he’s got the same things he’s gotta work on this slowly getting better, Davis Warren did step up, but he didn’t step out of all we expected he stepped up in where we knew he would be.
As for Denegal, if anyone makes a break for the transfer portal, I’m predicting he’ll be first… he’s ancillary at this point, but he has snaps Warren doesn’t... so, that would be his logic to stay - and as for the young guy Davis, he only had one snap so, for me what do you want to say? Lol
In my mind it’s going to be:
    1. Orji
    2. Warren
    3. Denegal
    4. Davis
I think what Sherrone Moore is gonna end up doing is exactly what Jim Harbaugh did when you had bubble quarterbacks, where they’re right on the bubble, play them both until the bubble bursts, and one advances
At any rate, the thing to be proud of is that Michigan’s QB bench is stacked and the defense looked awesome…

3 ) WR : still need a big 50/50 wide receiver that wins a jump ball..
4 ) no concerns about the TE they will be just fine..
5 ) o-line with more reps and a little bit of time will be just fine seen some good some bad..

Those UM LBs and DEs looked really slow and unathletic when Wink had them drop back in coverage during those "exotic" blitzes. If that blitz doesnt get home and a QB can extend the play in a scramble drill, it could get ugly. Its gonna be interesting to see how well those coverages hold up against teams with athletic TEs and RBs who are also skilled receivers.

Most of the guys who played the last 3 years aren't there anymore, plus the season that defense was most effective was last year, when you had guys with years of game experience in that scheme. One of the knocks on Wink by Giants' players was he made things more complicated then they needed to be, and that was from NFL Pros. I saw more than a few plays where the LB/DE lost track of a guy in coverage, especially in the flat and drag routes, and an experienced QB and OC are going to make you pay. I'm just pointing out what I saw. I guess we'll find out early enough against TX. If Ewers and Sark have a huge game passing to RBs and TEs, just remember, I saw it coming way back in April.

If you figure in the three post season victories, Michigan played 8 of 15 games after the Stalions accusations broke -- 53% of opponents/ games. Orji is a junior. There are four seniors projected to be starters on the O-line. The fifth is a junior. Both of the top tight ends are juniors. They also have six players in the front seven on defense that are at least all juniors and have already started games in the Big Ten. Two of them are projected to be first round picks. They even have an All-American corner returning along with a fifth-year senior captain returning at safety. Michigan has been developing these guys themselves and the team is built to win now.
