We always stay in the Suidobashi area - it’s our go to place to stay Our Hotel is near the station and isn’t as touristy as other areas Across from the Dome area is a shrine tucked away near a university . We walked to don Quijote there even at 2:30 am with no issues . So many students in the area as well- that’s why food is cheap . Take care - from Orlando Florida Goofy Gimbal
Thank you for this as My Daughter and I will be in Tokyo next week for a two week vacation. I'm still learning about how to get around the Tokyo area and the Tokyo Dome area is on our list to visit! Also, we plan on eating our way around Tokyo, so all of that food viewing is just making out mouths water!
Hi john so excited about my very first trip to japan only 2 weeks to go counting the days hours minutes and second when i get on that long flight to Narita on Emirates!
Just got back from 2 weeks in Japan. The well known sites un Kyoto are swarming with tourists. I changed my plans and went to some less touristy spots and had a great time. If you are into Japanese history Nijo-Jo Castle in Kyoto is a must see. Have a great time!
Hi John. I remember watching your livestream from the Tokyo Dome a while back when you went for a huge food festival and while you were eating a cute little girl was talking to you. Loved that interaction you had with her. I recall thinking that you would be a great father one day! And here you are being a great dad to Leo. Fantastic livestream my friend! 😊
Looking forward to that Godzilla looming over Super Mario Postcard. Enjoyed seeing an episode focusing on mid priced restaurant food as an alternative to the usually featured street food. Never tried horse meat, but at least in past decades there was abundant whale meat in the supermarkets that made for a tasty stew. Never saw it featured on a restaurant menu though. Seeing Tokyo Dome always brings back pleasant memories of watching a baseball game there with some of our children. If we were back in Hawaii would have extended an invite to stay at our place there. Maybe when you return to Oahu with the family?
@@onlyinjapanGO It was in my PO Box yesterday. Likely arrived here in Alaska over the Memorial Day Weekend. Thanks for the special touch having it postmarked in Shinjuku!
Love all the food. You should not see much of a price rise if all or most of the ingredients, including the labor, transportation, and packaging, are local. There is local inflation, but inflation from abroad will not affect local food as much. It will affect some amount of the financial sector that is connected to foreign investments, so if there is a lot of food that is sold on the global market, like if rice is exported. However, I do not think a significant amount of Japanese rice is exported, but I could be wrong. However, while selling on the foreign market might result in less profit in Japanese yen, it does not translate completely to a rise in local costs. It depends on what the profit people are taking and the costs input to the product. It seems that much of the cost of the food, at least, is in Japan, so as long as labor in Tokyo compares to labor wherever the food is produced, transportation, other inputs, inflation is the difference. I do not see that much change in the cost of food, for example, within Japan, but I could be wrong. It is not a specific market I have researched. It just seems to be very local, which I adore.

It’s a good choice for place to stay, good access - many attractions, good, cheap eats and entertainment! Very central.

They’ve arrived in the US more places so it shouldn’t be long before it hits the north!

I see PVG was streaming as well, you guys should have synced up for a little tag team action!
You could document the Roppongi 5-Chome area before it gets torn down.
A beautiful day to be alive and eat.
A good Indian Restaurant is Delhi in Ginza. Recommend the Tandoori Chicken!
I’ll check it out 😋
The bottakuri gimbal ?
