- Is the wait worth it? We finally see what the Lanner Tactical LA-SF15 in .22LR is all about with a trip to the range.
A huge thank you to the subscriber that bought the rifle down and making this possible! Of course Blue Fieldsport as well for the range use and ammunition!

Opinions are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of any companies mentioned in the video.
I've had my Lasf-15 compact for over a year now and I can't fault the rifle or the company. I knew the lead times to expect. Communication was good, and they take a deposit with the rest taken once it was in the country and back from proof. Really fun wee rifle and would recommend it to anyone.
Can I ask what the deposit was please?
@@oilatum500g can't quite remember but I think it was half the cost before modifications.
I was surprised to see you reviewing the Lantac, having seen your previous posts. It can’t have been easy for you, but it’s good to see. Hope relations are healing so Kudos to you. I have an LA-SF15 and they are amazing rifles and well worth the wait. I have thousands of rounds through mine, but I recommend the TI firing pin upgrade for HV loads. As a post script, buffer spring is redundant for 22lr and easily removed, solves the twang, not that I’ve really noticed but might do now.
I’ve got one of these and can’t fault it....my wait was only couple of months as I got in at the end of the delivery process
The firearms keep getting better. I know they're just .22 but it's still neat. I'd buy it 👍👍👍👍👍👍
You can fit a Taccom Pressure plug to stop the 'spring twang' - good review btw guys :-)
Thanks for watching and the advice!
I have just started to get into shooting as a hobby/sport this week. I shot a few of my uncles air rifles yesterday and i am just about to today. I have just discovered your channel today and i love it.
Great to hear! Thanks for stopping by and watching 🙂
Good on you for providing an impartial review under the circumstances, I have a Lasf-15 standard and it's superb, I have had a Tippmann, A Kriss and a Smith and Wesson and Interestingly I would put the Tippmann and Kriss at the bottom of the pile. My Tippmann was unreliable to the extreme and my Kriss was inaccurate and fell strangely cheap and toy like.. Although the plastic M&P feels very "soft air" it was massively reliable, accurate and frankly cheap when I bought mine 10 years ago.. you cannot really fault them for the money. I have a Sub Raven on order and as you you say the lead times can be long but I was told this at point of order and have been kept updated on a regular basis so personally I am happy to wait. I replaced my M&P with a Spikes purely because I wanted a "real" AR, that lasted a 2 months, utter poo!!
So glad to finally see a review of this!! Appreciate it mate!
Thanks for watching!
I eliminated the buffer ‘twang on my cmmg by upgrading the buffer spring to a Strike Industries flat carbine spring. Highly recommend to any sensitive souls 😁
Whenever possible, if possible in the UK, the Magpul MOE Carbine stock should be upgraded to the CTR stock. It's secondary lock takes all play and rattle out of the Buttstock/buffer tube assy. But you may already be aware of this.
Thanks for the tip!
Always good to hear your unbiased opinion. So getting the best .22 is a balance between budget and whats available for the new-be .22 rimfire practical beginner. Smith and Weston seem to be the best all rounder but Ruger have loads of attachments available. What your top 5 practical rifles is pretty much understood in a previous excellent video. but what would make a great u tube v blog, top 10 if poss. and why. :-)
Thanks! Buying a gun is always a balance but that's what makes it interesting. I would agree on the 15-22, I've not seen a rifle to date that can beat it on price and reliability.
Thinking of getting one of these, should order it now even though I haven't got an FAC yet, will probably get it delivered by the time I get an FAC, lol.
KingNothing100 I'm thinking of doing the same thing!!
No reason you can't! Paying a deposit for a gun without an FAC is completely legal and will save you a load of time.
My order for a cmmg was through Lantac when I was waiting for my fac.Lantac stated that if my fac was refused they would refund my deposit.
Purchased my cmmg through Lantac where they machined a 11deg crown, polished the feed and sear.Had it for 5 years, never missed a beat. Not sure but I think the Lantac branded rifles use a Lantac made lower but still use the cmmg upper and bolt system.
Looking to push through my FAC and this was going to be one of my choices... as it doubles as a 223 and a 22lr.
have you opinions changed about the Lantac gun itself or the afgter care service?
It's worth mentioning that if you get the short variant and convert it in the US. You may be in SBR legal territory.
Excellent review! Would love to see a review of the Calibre Innovation CISCAR in .223
Thanks, we work with Calibre a lot so I'll see what we can do!
@@EnglishShooting Thanks! They look like amazing rifles, but it would be good to get your take on them
How do you go about switching the lantac to .223? Is it a case of switching out various components like the barrel etc? Thx for a great review
Great video mucker 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Beautiful.
Thank you, I always try my best 😂
I wish we had semiautomatic back 😢
As do I!
Could you make a separate playlist with all your reviews, please.

I see a lot of the .22 sporters on your channel are made in the USA. Is there anything over there of interest that's made in the UK for the British? Is there anything on the market over there like an L85A1/2/3 variant chambered in .22LR or .22WMR?
No uk legal l85 clones im afraid. I made one myslef (l85a2) out of an airsoft replica and a 10/22
Lantac are a British company. These were originally made in the UK.
@@rubencentro4974 Is there a legal reason for that or is it just because no one ever thought there'd be demand for such a thing?
@@rubencentro4974 That sounds fascinating! Got any pictures?
WKZworks There isn’t the demand because the UK market is so small. Plus the L85 is dog ugly!
I own a S&W M&P which cost me a lot less than half the price of the Lantac. I've had no issues with it, no stoppages whatever ammo I use subsonic or high velocity. I agree an all metal receiver would have been better but not at over twice the price.
I'm in exactly the same boat.
I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to AR platforms, I want mine to be mil spec not mil look alike.
@@flyerh You pay your money and make a choice. Nothing wrong with that.
You said you did not think the kriss was as good as Tippmin in A previous video you seem to Contradict yourself from time to time?
I think the Kriss and Tippmann are on par, depending on the context, one could pip the other, either gun is on the lower end of the .22 semi-auto offering on the market in my opinion.
Just ordered one, will let you know the lead time.
Cheers!
@@EnglishShooting I actually had a call the next day advising me on lead times and as i had paid in full offered to return most of the money holding just a deposit, all very polite.
What were the wait times?
@@YJohnson97 could be 3 months.
Obviously it’s not a target rifle! But what sort of accuracy can you get from these rifles as opposed to other .2 2L are black rifles?
You make guns look really light
What do you mean?
@@EnglishShooting As in not that heavy
@@Adamstankevitch 3kg is light 🤔🤔😂
@@boneo9552 I didn't know it's exact weight because I'm a new comer, I live in liverpool were the closest thing to a gun is a rubber band. I'm glad that my lack of knowledge gave you a laugh.
@@Adamstankevitch Some guns are much heavier than others. AR designs like this one aren't particularly heavy, and .22lr has very little recoil compared to a centrefire rifle or a shotgun.
Looks like a good varmint gun😉
Do you think British people should be allowed pistol caliber semi-auto rifles again e.g 9mm, 5.7 X 28mm and 45acp calibers
Yes! Along with handguns and all calibers of rifles
When politicians foolishly make laws to look virtuous and gain votes,it's impossible to reverse those decisions without confirming their foolishness .
Would you say get the standard or compact? Is there much difference in the performance?
I haven't shot the standard, but personally I prefer shorter rifles. When I changed the 16" barrel to a 12" on my 15-22 I didn't notice a huge difference apart from being a lot more agile. You will lose velocity though when may give less accuracy at longer ranges.
Hi, could you tell me what type of muzzle brake that is please. It sounded on the video like you said 3d printed?. Thanks in advance
@@danghawes thanks very much
Are there any good .22wmr AR15 out there?
NWCP and Gun Craft both make one
AR10 is at that price in .308 and 6.5 creed see the price difference between 🇬🇧 and 🇺🇸
How does swapping to 223 work in the UK? Are you even allowed to own it?
Yes, you can have a dedicated .223 upper to swap but the upper is classed as a firearm and you would need a slot on you FAC to own it as well.
them add on parts look awful , they make it look like a childs gun , the muzzel brake adds to the childs gun effect too . just my my opinion . as for Lantac , i have never shot a bad one and all are good guns .
Each to their own 🙂
be better if they were in black or a od green /coyote brown
@@DaibhidhBhoAlba you are in the minority . with your opinion .
Looks like a serious firearm to me. Many people that are unfamiliar with firearms may think that it's a toy. Looks bang-on!
@@DaibhidhBhoAlba ha ha , well i am glad you think its ok to take the piss out of a dyslexic person , just shows the type of person you are . i only commented on the gun and looks but you seem to think its ok for personal insults . i take from this you must be one of his friends . will you be attacking the color of my skin next . its a gun channel not a channel to attack people on .
Are binary triggers legal in the uk?
No, neither are bump stocks.
What sort of license do you need for one of these
A Firearms Certificate
In America, I can literally go to a store and buy one
It is quite pricey but it does look very nice. I probably wouldn't get one due to wait/customet service. I am an impatient guy, if I want a new gun I WANT IT NOW. lol
You and me both!
Is 22wmg and 22subsonic legal to shoot?
Yes, we don’t have any restrictions on calibre in the UK.
@@EnglishShooting okay thanks
. Hi callum I thought they've taken your licence of you how are stilling shooting guns thats funny
Wonder if they are still using Hera Arms uppers and lowers?, as they used to use the Hera Arms hand guards and I can prove that as I have one from Hera Arms.
Got your FAC back then
Not yet! Firearms licensing is still closed for new applications.
what advice would you give to someone in england just starting out researching into guns and wanting to buy a gun soon for sport/gun range shooting?
Get your probation at a club started first. Can't buy anything until that's out of the way and you have your FAC sorted.
100% join a Home Office approved club!
@@EnglishShooting thanks
Surely swapping the barrel & bolt to .223 also needs the semi-auto function blocked to only allow single pull to stay legal in the UK?
Absolutely!
The 22 bolt operates on blow back, if you put a 223 barrel on it would be single shot / straight pull as there's no gas port in the barrel also no gas parts.
You swap the whole upper assembly with ‘straight pull’ operation rather than just the barrel and bolt assembly
Yeah i mean its possible to bring in one of those 22 ar15s that have just had a bolt swap (still 223 barrel) and swap in a bolt from a straight pull ar 15 but of course this is illegal
Fire select is redundant. 22lr is blow back, the bolt face doesn’t lock. You won’t get a gas ported barrel or gas tube in the UK so adding a .223 barrel means the bolt closes and locks, you’ll need to pull the bolt back to reload.
I have a probably stupid question. I’ve heard from a few people that if a gun was made/imported/registered before a certain date it can be owned without a license. Is this true?
I’m not 100% on the fine detail on this but there are guns that are considered obsolete calibre that can be purchased without a license. There are some guns depending on their construction and age that are exempt from licensing.
EnglishShooting thank you very much :)
If it is an antique and is just intended as an ornament yes. There is no defined date but there have been some stated cases of 1939.In the section there is a list of obscure calibre's but the main thing to bear in mind is ammunition is not exempt so if you possess or make ammunition to fit your antique firearm you immediately cross the line to section 1. As of November 2020 there is a bill going through to take this exemption away because there have been crimes using modified antique firearms.
3:23 If you put a semi-auto 5.56 upper on it, wouldn't that make it section 5 and as such not able to be converted back into a section 1 firearm?
It would have to be straight pull.
He means the lantac .223 non gas operated straight pull upper.
Is this an actual gun?
Yes, a .22lr rifle.
Vaseline or similar will get rid of the spring twang :D
Removing the buffer spring will also get rid of the twang
Very nice but waiting times would put me off also the price but it does look nice.
The price not so much for me but the wait would. For a custom one off rifle I could understand the wait, but their base spec "off the shelf" should be kept in stock.
@@EnglishShooting yes agreed I could buy one easily enough but I think maybe £1200 for a 22 is too steep I'll stick with my mp 15-22 great rifle sensible price.
Apart from complying with UK gun laws, is there any other target market for such a .22 AR-15? I can't imagine who in other countries would require such a pea shooter.
I live in the USA and I want one.
@@throwawaytrash33 Because .22 ammo is cheaper?
@@stukafaust Yeah and .22 is just a fun plinking caliber.
