⭐️ She won American Got Talents 2016 🌺 I just found out about her in 2020 from RUclips Now I know her and I love her 💗 Grace VanderWaal 🎵 And her song: "I Don't Like You (Official Video)" is awsome
Most of Grace's fans - especially the older ones - are extremely admiring fans of her parents too. I'm sure this hasn't been easy for them. I can't imagine how this must have exploded their comfortable upper middle-class suburban lives.
Actually Grace was going to a private school that shut down, and went back to taking online courses but she hated it. She hates online schooling so you might keep that in mind for your own kids. This year she's going to a prestigious Arts boarding school in Michigan but continues to sing covers and new songs from her dorm room.(and the washroom occasionally). She's sixteen now and no longer uncertain about music as a career. I agree with you about her parents--they're awesome. When Grace and her dad got back from Africa they got matching elephant tattoos. Coolest dad ever.
I would imagine Grace is respectfully head strong, she has her own way of doing things and I believe Dave and Tina are aware of it, they are exceptional parents indeed!!
@@cbebrad Yeah, that's the one. Very expensive(68 thou) but I guess Grace can afford it. She seems to be enjoying it(except for the hated music theory class) but misses performing a great deal.
Grace, now 16, is in boarding school and taking music-related courses. Her songs now are a little more edgy and still deep. Playing guitar quite easily. Doing Instagram Live from her room at school. More beautiful than ever. Even sang a cover in French today.
her dad was, recently retired, an award winning CEO advertising exec for LG. so lots of marketing knowledge and connections to support her product when it's published and in her benefit.
He was the man behind the famous Maytag man commercials and cardboard cutouts we seen everywhere since 90's , extremely talented and respected in the marketing world
@@thawk6792 Grace had a very good upbringing by amazing parents who saw the creativity in their daughter, also Olivia is an accomplished artist. Her work on Grace's Perfectly Imperfect EP was a masterpiece. The way music was flowing out of Graces mind was genius.
@@McDevittMike I'm sure she's open to the wisdom he holds. I think his connections have been a link to the market in japan and all her advertisement licensing. She may have said that but she's like science and changes with new observations as she grows into her own wisdom in a very shark infested world of music business.
Your comments about her parents are dead on. Somebody said it in a RUclips comment somewhere but part of what I appreciate is that the VanderWaal’s let us be part of her family, let us into their living room - it’s that sense of grounded humility with the joy of what they are doing is what makes Grace and her family special
Good catch on her parents being such a healthy part of her life. You will be pleased to know this has been evident in their interactions with Grace and with the public, multiple times over the last 5 yesrs. Her sister Olivia and brother Jakob and their three dogs have also helped!
The corona virus really put a monkey wrench in the momentum of her career as a touring act. It destroyed the plans of a lot of people who had made Grace's 2020 tour their tour deforce. The tour failed to materialize and her beloved road crew have had to find other jobs. To salvage the year.... It really, really, made a lot of sense that Grace should use the rest of this year to reconnect with girls her own age and the be learning from real teachers in person, at a real school.
Grace is an amazing young woman, and a perfect role model for young people. Hopefully, she will continue to be true to herself because that is what fuels her incredible talent. Peace.
I teared up a little bit too, I had not seen this one. I think you are more of a VanderWaal Family fan, not only a fan of Grace. This was still really cool. I agree about parenting, totally different perspective of life all the way around. So, if you are in a mood to ball your eyes out at something wholesome, there is Grace's acceptance speech at the Billboard Women In Music awards. Obviously don't watch if you are in no mood to cry.
Grace, Courtney, Angelina and Darcy Lynn, are all very talented artist. I think the parents of all these young artist have alot to do with their creativity. But Grace is a Prodical genius when it come to writing music. The days of the naughty teen singers are numbered. The new generation of teen talent are true artist.
I agree with that. The only thing I may add is those days of naughty teens will be numbered, but how quick that happens depends also on how fast the music moguls realize they no longer have the same power to forecast the future of music as they once did. A lot more artists are taking power into their own hands and refusing to sign on their terms. The executives who signed The Warning recently admitted that The Warnings contract has never been written up like that before. Those girls have full control of how things will go down. When they see someone like Angelina Jordan or Liliac or The Warning making world wide names for themselves without record deals they will need to reevaluate how they go about there business. I"m sure they will figure out a work around, but I see artists now holding firm more often.
Grace's appeal has always been more than just her music. Her music is special. But her openness and spontaneous way of expressing herself is magical. Grace is real. Grace is not some star that we put on a pedestal and can barely touch the hem of her garment. Grace is down-to-earth, relatable, someone that anyone can talk to, and someone who cares.
My daughter is a pre-k 4 Head start teacher and also the Google teach liaison for her district' It is set up so well you will be fine at it. To hear Grace talk she is a horrible student but I'm sure its just the environment of her education and it just need a more customized structure. It is good that she is a fairly talented young lady!
Hy there. I have to introduce myself, I’m a 72 and half years old male and that is my real name what you see on the beginning of my comment.my question is multiple. Here it is. What do you think, of grace personality, style of her music and for the most important what style she will end up to do??? I m not a music expert, but after a long life and listening a lot of different singers, bands, even orchestras , I have a feeling she will go to hard rock.Wich I don’t think anything is wrong with because if I think about those musicians are responsible for some of the greatest songs. Please if you can give me a response. Thanks!!!!!
There are plenty of these videos of Grace away from music, or interviews. You can really start to understand how intelligent and entertaining she can be. This is not just a singer/songwriter, she’s a role model for all the young people, and actually the older people as well. Other people have said this in the past but I think she would do well with her own TV show, like Kelly Clarkson has.
Thank god you're not religious, LOL l was wondering. I've only seen this video once, and really enjoyed your perspective on it. I appreciate her parents for both giving her room to express herself, and still keeping an eye out for her emotional well being. Grace has her share of emotional challenges, but I think she'll be a decent adult thanks to her upbringing.

She's in Michigan?!! I live in Michigan. There's a music arts school in northern michigan called Interlochen. That's the only one I know of.

Grace is 100% sweetheart. If I were her dad, I'd know I finally did something right.

Grace had to go to home school after AGT. December 2016, Grace said I'll go back to school or I'll quit. ✌️😎🇩🇪🇪🇺💯

Soon, hopefully, there will be a 2 part Documentary on Grace coming out. How many at that age of ever had that happen.
Coming out?? What do you mean by that? Not that I would have a problem with her “coming out” but I think I’m reading this wrong.

Warren P. Davis yea he edited the comment haha, at first all it said was Grace was coming out and I didn’t have a clue what that meant
