The ideal resolution Catlyn was aiming for was that Stannis and Renly would make up and join forces so that Rob could join them as a triple force united. But past tension with High Garden in Renly’s ear preaching for his solo rule and the Red Preast doing the same for Stannis. Shit got dicey
If Viserys survived, he still wouldn’t have invaded because he commands no respect from the Dothraki. If anything, we would have left when Mormont caught him with the eggs and maybe raise an army of sell swords. He would have died in the first battle because of his small force. Now if he lived and stuck around with Dani, than maybe he’d join them when they cross over? Nope, his attitude would cause him to push consistently he’d definitely have so many opportunities to be killed for his arrogance. Or even when Droggo dies. Buddy wouldn’t have lived to see Quarth.
If Tywin lived the faith wouldn’t have come back. No arc with Cersei power trip. Theon staying loyal wouldn’t have changed the Iron island invasion. Maybe it would have helped Rob at the Red Wedding, Theon could play a part beside him, not that it could terribly change much, maybe Rob wouldn’t have felt the need to murder the Karstarks due to constant betrayals in his ranks. Which in hand would have prevented the red wedding so maybe. If the Vale joined Rob, than the war would have been over even faster, theyre would be no way the Freys would be able to pull of the red wedding against such large numbers
