so from what I got from the ending...the main character was following where the base should be but gets eaten by a monster in the dark. Either the monster ate a tracking device that led the main character toward it or the men in the coms were actually the monster luring the main character

I feel like the men in the coms were actually the monster luring the main character as after the main character left Viper the men on the coms said: "We can't see what you're seeing" and yet immedieately after, said: "There should be a communications center on your left."
Of course it could've simply been they could've tracked the main character's position seeing as they could track the MC's vitals, but it's still food for thought nonetheless.
The atmosphere in this game is so well done, between the claustrophobic well lit areas, and the wide open dark areas with the overarching story of something horrible went on in these research bases, it really does a good job at really giving you hardcore chills. And the build up to the chase was real nice too

At the end I held a breath expecting a jumpscare, but then the low "howl" and the gib sound terrified me even more.
It's such a shame you only have 3.81k subscribers, these films are incredibly well done and the tense atmosphere gets me more than any recent horror film or even game.

Underwater terror, one of my favorites! What is this map called and have you tried using the maps gm_asylum and Gm_Mines? They seem like great roleplay maps and could offer up interesting stories.
gm_asylum could be about a man who went a little insane after witnessing aliens kill his friends and when explains it to the cops they blame him for the murders and throw him in the asylum
Gm_Mines could be during the scp containment breach, workers in the mine start hearing weird noises while working and when the check it out they have an encounter with SCP 939
The map is abyssal plain, and ill definitely check them out! Thank you for the advice

I wish Subnautica was like this. Yes, it has tons of scary elements, but it lacks the "claustrohobic rusty underwater submarine" feel that this map has
