Drood is one of my all time favorites. I must mention my favorite scene, where I literally laughed until I cried. This is the Christmas Charles Macready is invited and he’s all “ah ah…by god, Dickens!” And dickens’s daughters are rolling their eyes at one another. 😂😂😂
I’m no fan of Dickens’s writing nor his character. 😒 So I enjoyed him being a prat in this.
I’ve tried to read Dan Simmons before and couldn’t get into him. I think I’m the exception to your rule because this is a book I’m rather obsessed with. Bought it for $1, too.

I enjoyed Drood - I think? Haha, it's been awhile - I read it when it first came out. But I do love Dan Simmons. I plan on reading this one again when I finally read Dickens' The Mystery of Edwin Brood. Since you haven't read Wilkie Collins, I recommend The Woman in White - it's great! Thanks for the video!

I've read 4 by Simmons: Drood, The Terror and the Ilium and Olympos Duology. Hyperion is a top priority for me this year.
I *love* The Terror! One of the best books I've read period! Ilium is another favorite--I should really re-read it since it's been so long, and then read Olympos after that. Hyperion is absolutely incredible. I'll look forward to your thoughts!
