It was lovely to do this experience with you! And for anyone considering doing this I’d like say I highly recommend it! Liza and Julie made everyone feel so comfortable, regardless of their sewing or costuming or modeling experience!
~24:55 - Yes, hard work and costumes and photography... but also; PUPPY PIRATE... YARRRRR~ ... ... ... puppo pirate doin' a big wag. Yarr. :3 But actually, that looked really fun. That is definite costuming goals right there. I'm always in awe of these kinds of shindigs. :D
As a photographer who does styled fantasy shoots, working with all y'all has been my dream forever. Absolutely in love with the fact you all put this together and brought all these concepts to life. Fantastic, well done!
The amount of work that everyone must have put in to make this happen is astounding. The results looks amazing though! Can't imagine how much money all of this also costs, from making/buying the costumes, accommodation, travelling, paying the photographers.... Since I'll never be able to afford a photo retreat like that (never energy-wise nor financially), it's nice to live the dream second hand by beautiful videos like this :)
Sounds like good fun - and of course you all looked amazing. Put a bunch of people with a slightly nerdy interest together, and beautiful things happen...
I do not like to be on photos, but my sister does and she once did a photoshoot for a photographer friend who wanted some fantasy spice in his portfolio. So, she doned a white flowy dress, did her makeup and they went into the fields with a nice latern. At dusk. After the snow just fell. Honestly, my sister is an awesome model, I could never. Those photos are awesome.
I can't remember if I've already commented, but I keep rewatching this video and the ghost one. I think fantasy historical-ish costuming is truly where my heart is. Love this type of content from you because it's still so educational. Also, petition for the pirate costume video puhlease 😢🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
This was so much fun to watch. I have been sewing for over fifty years. Now all my kids are grown and my grandchildren like their own style of clothing, which is fine….but I’d love to be a part of a group of people who love sewing for fantasy costumes. And I’d love to be one of them modeling. So much fun. A lot of my friend’s don’t understand my love for this.
I'm truly loving how you quickly assembled such amazing costumes. You are inspiring me to let go of perfectionism in favor of getting out and enjoying myself. I live in Oregon and used to live just north of Cannon Beach, where you did the seaside photo shoot. Whenever I've driven the highway just east of Cannon Beach, I've always felt that I was traveling through a forest in Middle Earth. Thanks for bringing my reverie into reality.
July 2022 I had a photo shoot that I had won in a giveaway with Liza in a formerly abandoned Victorian parkland cemetery in Philly! I wore my friend’s black 18th century suit and had such a blast doing it. She was great to work with!
What an amazing amount of work! I live here, and yes, you always need to be prepared for water, wind, and sudden changes of temperature. What a fun workshop! But a lot of work, a LOT of work.
gorgeous! please do a tutorial on the making of the rust velvet cloak--it sounds like an excellent project for beginner sewists who don't yet own machines. :)
It is lovely to see all of you enjoying the experience. I have always hated having my picture taken, which is extremely unfortunate considering my career is in the performing arts.
Magical. (There is so much work behind every instance of the appearance of casual magic. I guess that is why I am currently wearing a stretched out t-shirt and baggy shorts. I have to up my magic game!)
I really like how you showcased simple makes and they had really nice impact. I have to be reminded that not everything has to be big to look really nice.
That was lovely. I really enjoyed the beach shots. I haven't been to Cannon Beach in many years, but when I was a kid, it was the place my family usually went to for beach trips, and I loved seeing Haystack Rock. Next time I'm down in Portland in somewhat temperate weather, I'll have to drag my family out there for a day trip.
Fantastic! You looked beautiful as always & all the other ladies too. Loved your white wig & ears! I don't care for mine as they don't look realistic except the points & are heavy!
All the sessions were beautiful, but seaside aesthetic is my thing. The first seaside shoot was so gorgeous. The group shot you showed was breathtaking 😍
I enjoy fantasy medieval cosplay. Nothing is truly wrong, you just wear it. Everyone looked so relaxed and into the themes. I honestly could not tell what was thrifted or what was crafted. Guessing the puppy was a surprise guest? The settings looked perfect whether, moody or ethereal no matter what choice number they were, well excepting the logging road of course, but...adventure! Sometimes cosplaying at a comic con puts pressure on the creator or cosplayer to be perfect. It is a pitfall I seem to trip into from time to time. However watching this video makes me want to cosplay again.
I’m so glad you had such a great experience here on our beaches and in our forest. Everyone looked beautiful. Your cape solution was so clever and really showed off the gorgeous drape of that velvet.
I love that [nameless] Oregon beach! My family goes there every couple years since I was little. I've never thought to do a proper photoshoot- just pretty ocean pictures. Or pictures of the bunnies that hang out by one of the hotels. A couple years ago, me and my bf did a hike in one of the darker forests. Tons of mushrooms. The trail was pretty gnarled up with tree roots, though. You guys all look like you had tons of fun!
All the looks were so good. I love that you showed ‘costume’ makes that we’re not just single-use or for-polictures quality. I’m definitely making that 3yd velvet cape ♥️
This was so very interesting. I love how you pulled everything together. How did your leaf shoes hold up? You chose stunning fabrics and colors. You all looked so beautiful in all of the photographs. Cheers!
I’m going to the Medieval Mythologies one in November and overwhelming is a good description. I’m still trying to figure out how to limit my items while having variety so it can magically fit in a carry on.
This area looks so much like coastal Humboldt County, CA where I went to college. Cal Poly Humboldt is about 90 miles south of the Oregon border. I've done a lot of nature photography around there, but I was out of touch with any of my costuming friends while I was in school.
All the costumes look awesome, but I would say that you make a really badass pirate in that costume! 😁🏴☠🏴☠ Also, I laughed out loud at the puppy wanting to join the pirate crew 😂

I would love to see how you did the elf cape. I can kinda see it in my head but I think it would be a lovely make for a beginner.
Love this hairstyle on you!!!
The elven cape design is a genius idea and it looks amazing!
It looks like it was so much fun
This is so lovely, I’m gonna cry 😭

I know this is a little unrelated, but I love your hair color & cut. It makes you seem more impish which feels like your personality.
I appreciate that the elves were especially annoyed finding themselves stuck in the middle of a clear cut operation.
Sounds like good fun - and of course you all looked amazing. Put a bunch of people with a slightly nerdy interest together, and beautiful things happen...
I am absolutely obsessed with how amazing everyone looks in their costumes ✨
Love your hair! You have so many talents. I always look forward to seeing your work.

I love that a doggie was so happy to see y'all like you were his best buddies! His tail was so delighted & waggin' in a big way😂!
You can’t beat the Oregon Coast! Surf, Sand, Forest, sometimes some sun and definitely ADVENTURE! Looks like you all had so much fun!
That elf and nymph cape designs are both so smart! All of the footage is really lovely!
The first shoot makes me think of the beach scene from Little women

This was fascinating to see and hear about the making of. The elfin segment I wanted dancing. 🧡🥰
If you want sleeves to fit better on the shoulders use a simple honeycomb smocking. It remains elastic after you remove the pleating threads.

@@seanmcgcostumesIt really is.
Loved the behind the scenes, so beautiful, gorgeous locations and costumes

Beautiful photography ,as a lover of trees, and forests, it's right down my alkey
Delightful! Glorious!
You all looked so beautiful. I got a little teary eyed. 🥹

same, any tips?
also what do you do?
@@allesaufanfang-sarah i don't have any tip, sure wish I did because it never gets easier. I'm a musician.
Your videos and talent are so awesome!
Magical. (There is so much work behind every instance of the appearance of casual magic. I guess that is why I am currently wearing a stretched out t-shirt and baggy shorts. I have to up my magic game!)
I wonder . . .if I dressed the part of a magical, powerful person at least once a week, would I feel more powerful inside. I think I'd like that. 🌄

Make memories! I'd holler "Road trip!" And off we'd go!
Could you give us some more details on the velvet cloak? I'd love to make one!
Fantastic! You looked beautiful as always & all the other ladies too. Loved your white wig & ears! I don't care for mine as they don't look realistic except the points & are heavy!
A hunt for the perfect ears, perhaps?
All the sessions were beautiful, but seaside aesthetic is my thing. The first seaside shoot was so gorgeous. The group shot you showed was breathtaking 😍
How fun! And I’m in Oregon so that was a nice little bonus of “hey, I know that beach” lol
Breathtakingly beautiful!!
I love your new hair look. Very very healthy looking and beautiful on you. The color very much suits you.
How wonderful to share this❣️ I love watching it!
i may have said it before; the Louise Brooks homage hair is so Gorgeous on you! modern with a nod to the past......

Puppy was a surprise guest! He didn’t want to leave.
Great video! I thought all the outfits were great, and the nod to Fortuny especially was *chef's kiss*. Loved it!
I wish I had a life like yours! So lovely.
I’m so glad you had such a great experience here on our beaches and in our forest. Everyone looked beautiful.

Such a creative approach to all the costumes.
Thank you for taking us along on all your adventures, Nicole!
This looks so fun! I would love to do a trip like this.
Pirate Nicole sets my little heart a pitter patter every time she comes out to play. All of the outfits were beautiful.

Beautiful!! In one of my favorite places in the world.
This was so dang cute! I’ve been to a few retreats with Liza and they’re always so much fun! I love seeing how people bring the themes to life!
The pinafore with your haircut kind of gives ‘Sound of Music, but make it fancy’ vibes. 😄
Oh, that looked like it was a wonderful experience!

This was all beautiful, but the look on everyone's face when the puppy showed up was just pure joy 😊
What a nice thing to watch while I'm down while I'm down with the flu. Made a difficult morning better. 🤜🏻🤛🏻
I hope you feel better very soon!🍄🍁📚🐈⬛🫖🎃🧙♀️
Thank you Nicole for bringing such beauty, knowkwdge and inspiration to my life. Your skills are totally amazing! 😍🤗

It was such a wonderful experience, and watching all the bts video just brought me back to that weekend. Everyone's outfits were amazing. ❤
That was so awesome it kinda gave me chills.
Especially that scene when everyone was walking towards the camera on the beach.

Already watched this more than once to relive the trip!
You looked like you all had a great time. Everyone was gorgeous.
Looks like so much fun and the photos looks lovely! Would have been so funny if there had been keys for the photo bombing pirate dog ! 😄
I think the colours and fabrics you chose for your eleven costume are divine and look incredible against the green forest background. Wow
