  • Bak Mei Basic Techniques
demonstrated by Master Chen Zhong Liang / Chan Jung Leung
Chen Zhong Liang studied martial arts from Childhood becoming very skilled in both Bak Mei and Taiji Quan. His Bak Mei teacher was Chen Jun Xia / Chan Gwan Haap.
Studying under master Chen Jun Xia he became very close friends with fellow student and Bak Mei innovator Li Yao Bin / Lei Yiu Ban.
Although Chen Zhong Liang's main love was Bak Mei he was very interested in the philosophy and methods of Taiji. He began to apply the teachings and methods in the Taiji classics to Bak Mei even writing essays on the subject.
He Also created several forms of his own such as the Seven Star Boxing and Seven Star Linked Boxing, both of which are meant to help beginners learn the basics before moving on to the traditional Bak Mei forms with their highly complex body mechanics.
Throughout his life he continued to practice both Taiji and Bak Mei, eventually refining his Bak Mei to a very high level.

Very relaxed and snappy version of Bak Mei. Most interesting.

Is there a web page for this guy? I can't seem to find info on this guy anywhere but here and on place that post these videos. I also kind of wonder if he is Cheung Lai Chuen, but it can't be for obvious reasons, due to different surnames and different teachers and classmates.

Would love to find an old Chinese sifu in the Tampa area to learn from.

Yeah, he's done all that more than a few times. I appreciate the way he configures his structure before fa jin. Excellent ging, subtle, subdued, and complete. Tea, there is nothing even remotely highly complex about the bio-mechanics of Bak Mei, or any other authentic striking TCMA for that matter. Sum up all sources of bio-mechanical power production available, connect/route them through the structure, end with power issuing through the striking surface. Simple :)

@Wilfri Castillo that's why those fake martial artists got knocked out, they never spar with anyone thinking their art will kill someone. In fact they are just dancing around and never use or test their skills, is not practical at all

This is great but sparring is key.

Agree, especially when young and learning the art. But when the time comes when the practitioner cannot spar, then I think this is key.
