Ppl always think QB is most critical, but its Oline which is as important as pass rush. Somehow our GMs didn't seem to clearly understand. Trenches 1st. Pressure opps QB and protect yours. Although all 32 teams must do it, it seems some GMs dont get it. Oline is hands down our problem historically. Dominate Offenses have had HOF LTs or all pro. KS has done this for awhile. 49ers dip a little last yr, but they are not weak. How did JGoeff emerge in DET, 3 1st rds on Oline. Draft position doesn't guarantee success, but when it hits, makes a big diff. Top teams typically get Oline right. Health is essential, but talent and depth is critical. I hope we upgrade C and LT. BJones is OK. But we need to have top talent for a change to contend. Let's Goooo! BEAR DOWN

No we need better starters. We have bkup quality starting. Upgrade that like we did everything else. Until then the QB issue is not fixed. Literally got another below avg guard to play center...again. and we wasted a pick to get him. Always getting project hopefuls instead of actual proven STARTERS. Even when we draft we don't get the STARS. Outside (wright) we get the potential steals. Raise the damn standards.

Bears need 6-7 good picks in this Draft imo. #1 QB #2 3Tech(Could come via trade) #3 WR #4 DE #5 Center Are all definitely needs. Tackle would also be nice to compete. You better trade back twice from 9 😅🤷🏻💯 Get that 2nd going into the teens (or future 1st if they offer🤷🏻 and late pick) Then do it again going into the 20s. Take Powers, Sweat, Chop, Keon Coleman. Someone in that same bracket but at a better value. I hear they like Chop alot, you can move to 20 something and get Chop. Add 2 2nds in this draft maybe more.

I am intrigued with Olumuyiwa Fashanu, was watching PFF clip about offensive tackles and they claim, by their metrics, he's had one of the BEST EVER careers for college offensive tackle when it comes to pass protection, they do admit his run blocking was below average in college and he will need to put in plenty of work on his strength and technique in run blocking but if you can work on that and get him to average there, he will probably project have the best career of any tackle in the draft. Left tackles that are so good on pass protection, you can put on an island and not worry about them, even forget about them, don't come around often. Could move Braxton Jones to guard or dangle him as trade bait, there have to be some cap strapped (contending) teams that would happily trade 3rd or 4th round pick for experienced player on low salary for 2 more years. IF one of the QB were to fall to number 9, Drake Maye or JJ McCarthy, trading back with Broncos or Raiders would be a good spot to pick him if he's available.
PS. He's also the player media hasn't linked to the bears.....

This is a great video. The first thing I did was divide the number of pressures by the total snaps. Wright gives up a pressure every 22 snaps, Davis every 23 snaps, Shelton every 33 snaps, Jenkins every 43 snaps, and Jones every 23 snaps. Tackles go against the premiere edge rushers so we need to cut them some slack. I still believe our tackle need to do much better. Jenkins is clearly a stud.

Good job breaking down this offensive line. I am now convinced that the O-Line is currently in better shape than I have previously believed. HOWEVER , the Bears need quality OL depth all the way around. I'm still going to want to see picking an OL early in the draft, but if we come away from draft day with Odunze or Nabors at WR, and a top notch edge rusher, well, all I can say is I can adjust. My disappointment won't be as massive as it could have been. Having a better than average offensive line is still, in my humble opinion, the Bears most glaring need going into the draft. This is Chicago! You can give REAL criticism where needed.

Would have been nice for Fields… wasted opportunity.
At least when Williams flames out it’ll be because of him and not the talent surrounding him.

@jaycutler118 not true. Center was the issue and right guard depth. He got Coleman and bates who are superior to everything we had. Nate Davis season was bad cause of personal shit and illness. He missed a lot of workouts. He will be fine this coming season. Center is upgraded.

so a guy can't have a bad year. Plus he had family issues. How any of you'll know plus he's only 27 years 1 bad season and give up. I'm 57 and it's time for bears to start sticking with players and not letting them go.

Whoa. I didn't "Give up on him". I simply compared him to Ryan bates and gave my opinion that Bates is here to be the "insurance policy". Its not "just for Nate" its for Teven Jenkins and Shelton Coleman too.

@@SwiftSportsNetwork Really, it's important, no shit!!! That's why we need a better one. The whole freaking O line is important, the Center HAS to be able to deliver the ball, tit high every freaking time, when have we seen that here in Chicago?? Olin maybe. Jenkins is a Mauler when he's not hurt. Davis blocks his own teammates. Now we have yet another backup half guard center. If the line stays the way it is now Williams won't last till November.

What’s the point of mentioning RAS scores when you are talking about players that have been in the league for several years?
Does anyone really care what a 28 year old’s RAS score was coming out of college?

What wall are you talking about Swifty? You are delusional. That is more like a big turnstyle! None of the new pieces added so far this year are great, they are average at best! Let's how many sacks and hurries this O-line will give up this year? Maybe go down from 44 sacks allowed to 39 sacks? They will still suck!
