Quick tip, Portugal's number plates are distinct from the rest of Europe! They have a strip of blue on the left, and a strip of orange on the right, the rest of the plate is white if you see that you're definitely in Portugal
If you've ever played Assassin's Creed 2, brotherhood and revelations you should know Firenze means Florence based on the fact the character is named Ezio Auditore Da Firenze and the game starts you in Florence.
I mean, _we_ learned that NL thinks German is French, doesn't even recognize the flag of Swaziland _as_ a flag, and that his smugness regarding Justin's mispronunciations of European city names are no remedy for absolutely butchering 'Łódź.' But no, NL learned nothing.
I'm a new player and got into Silver III pretty quickly, going to be Silver II when the counter reaches 0 on the first try. The game is pretty easy when you have photographic memory. I also learned a few tricks from youtube like the fact that if you see police following you in Africa, you're most likely in Nigeria. Also, the game puts you in capitals most of the time, so always go for those except if you see the city in writing or recognize it. Also, the game gives you the same maps sometimes so if you can remember them or take screenshots, you will do better than most players. Also, in the first world countries, there aren't many places where they speak french. Your only options are France, Luxembourg, Switzerland or Quebec in Canada. If you get german and french, you're in Luxembourg. If you get french but you have Canadian flags and stop signs that say "Arrêt" you're in Quebec, usually Quebec City. As for Switzerland, you'll get mountains and maybe a mix of german and french on signs. My biggest struggle in the game is eastern europe since it's the only part of Europe I haven't been to. Also the middle east is pretty difficult for me, took me a couple of fails before figuring out what Hebrew looks like.
In silver, the map is The World, which does indeed have a lot of capitals. In gold and above the map changes and has lmore diversity. Also Belgium speaks french.
