The intro music won me over. Being a kid in the early eighties from Illinois.
The 80’s was such a good time class of 88
I was supposed to graduate in 88 but graduated in 90
Super cute Movie. The New Yorker or Mark VIII whichever he was driving around all movie was such a nice car in 1984, top of the line luxury and three times the price of a economy, so probably not the car a poor kid would be driving around, but still fun to see such a nice example still in existence.
Nothing like that happened to me in high school, but the high school theme brought back a lot of memories. Great movie!
Not what I remember from '84, where's The Police, The Cars, Duran Duran, Talking Heads, Cindy Lauper, Madonna, The scorpions, Def Lepard?
Run DMC and Big Country were in the line up, so it wasn't all lower charts music...!

Oil city is decidedly north of Pittsburgh yet when he arrives in Pittsburgh they show him coming through the fort Pittsburgh tunnels which are south of Pittsburgh. As an SRU alumni I will tell you our art program is plenty robust. No need to go all the way to LA for art when SRU is an easy commute from his parents house.
This film was completely unresearched and has every thing wrong. Full of rip off characters from successful 80s films.

Definitely like teenage years I went through without college. Lol but I ended up on lake Michigan with a girl and we both got caught naked in beach towels and lite up by a freight ship coming in port. What a night. Would love to see her again. 1980s ruled.
the uk growing up in the 80's was amazing upon reflection, freedom, friends, laughter, adventures. new generation no idea of real fun, shame they missed some great decades but if they want to swap reality for this new technical world, they can keep it .

This is not an 1984 film. This is a millennial film filmed in the dark as was the custom by people who weren't there. The writers have have no clue. Just a pile of adolescent junk.
The songs are totally 80’s. The movie just isn’t that great imo. I got bored and didn’t finish watching it.
