- As part of a goal in his subathon, Zizaran hosts another edition of the Sunday Roast! In this show, players will submit their Path of Exile builds and list their issues, and Ziz will humorously mock them while giving advice at the same time.
The entries are voluntary and the roast is consensual, the jokes are satire.

My go-to comparison here is: "How good could I make a white item with a single crafted mod?". Half the ED guy's gear failed that test

On the first build, Ziz forgot to answer his question about why his contagion wasn't spreading far enough. If you look at the links in his helmet, he has contagion linked to bane and 2 other green gems. It's supposed to be contagion linked to increased aoe and intensify. That's why his contagion has no spread at all. I have no clue why he has bane linked to contagion when he also has bane and despair on his gloves.

i dreamed about playing ed contagion build. i had low dps. it was a nightmare because i have forgotten to use ED.

@@hoodwinkedagain I mean ED is low dps but it is EASY dps cast and dodge away. And yes I know you can push it to high levels but with a fairly low investment character wuth a 6l you won't exactly be melting high tier map bosses nvm endgame content.

Freezing Pulse with only 1 first snow? Definitely a great build.
1. Working on getting my gear ready to switch to CI. I have 4,200 life and 1,130 shield at the moment. I've never played a build like this. Trying my best :D
EDIT: Now at 4,479 life and 1,443 shield after gear upgrades!
2. Flasks are definitely on the list to fix.

3. Still have that 1 ex that I can convert to chaos. Sounds like I have to convert it and buy stuff, haha.

4. I had a REALLY hard time zooming with this build. It took me nearly 26 hours to hit maps.

ED is a very strong build and I league started with it at least 10 times by now. I'll leave a few tips that may help you out
- As Ziz said flasks are extremely important, having a Jade and Stibnite active with Ghost Shrouds can make you feel almost immortal at times. Grace aura is also an enormous boost
- Swapping to CI will make you feel so strong, you're immune to all chaos damage and with the life regen from ED (and Zealot's Oath) and ghost shrouds your ES will almost always be topped up
- Blight is your main source of single target damage, combined with the Spreading Rot jewel. Make sure you are stacking this up on bosses whenever possible.
- I think if Bane gets the kill, it can prevent your contagion from spreading the ED. That could be why you feel like it's not proliferating out? I would only use Bane on tanky single targets where you need to curse them with Despair
- Essence of Delirium gloves basically makes a 5L, you can throw your (Vaal) Blight in here to crank up the damage. Ideally your ED would be in here and Blight in the 6L but it might cause mana problems until it's set up right. You do not want to waste a flask slot on mana
The biggest TIP I can give is to watch the many ED guides that Ziz has on his channel. There's a lot of good information there even if some of it is a bit outdated
@@KingJerbear Thanks for the tips! I think that might be one of my problems, I'm still trying to get the muscle memory down for using my skills, and I think I use bane way too much in groups. I definitely use it to kill tiny groups or single targets, but I think I might be mixing it in with contagion. I will definitely make a focused effort to not do that in the future. Thank you!!
@@jaldarith jep he right i had the same problem last league if contagion gets kill it doesnt spread correctly ^^ rly try to only use it on conquerors etc or map bosses if u struggle with single target dmg
New to POE (just started playing, have about 200 hours at this point), can't always follow what's happening in your other vids, but I do enjoy this content and actually learn a lot. Ngl, some of the roasts were pretty funny.

Hey @zizaran, thanks for the roast. So dissappointed, that I missed it live:( Thes is ment to be a crit-based selfcast freezing pulse (one of "long-living" ones, where they just put update pob and post some comments every league after initial video) not sure if I can link it here, so I won't until permited. I suppose that main deffence is freezing (original build alsa have glancing blows, but no life/es on block, so I didn't take it), but the 83% sceptere is the best crit I find so far. Also, my chest is a 5-link in reality, we just can see this, because I got fucked by harvest, when 5-link recipe do nothing, but still was used, so no 6-link for me this time. Amulet and gold ring is for stats. Low lvl hatred same reason.

I mostly play melee slam builds like ice crash, but I havent ever crafted a 6 link in this league yet myself. I've only gotten 5 links XD. I have to say I never graduated past multiple health pots even at lvl 87. I always felt like i needed the vs bosses or the rare scare rare or unique. I still have no idea how people take them of and dont die.

The very first build I leveled a tornado shot build. Somewhere along the way early on I bought an item (belt I think) that had a ton of elemental damage on it with a mod saying “No Physical Damage”. I had scaled Physical on almost everything else. Could t realize why my damage was so bad. Cleared A10 Kitava with it before I realized 🤣.
Really would like to see veterans (ziz, big ducks ect.) of PoE start a build with nothing. No six link armour, no currency, nothing bought from trade, just a you find it or make it kinda build where you don't have these crazy resources at your disposal. I would find that really awesome to watch.

Can you look at my guy roguegiraffe, the only problem I seem to be having is I can’t run both determination and grace with 9% mana res helmet does it have to be redeemer to give extra mana res? Newer player
If you are close to the mastery node “grace has x mana res proficiency” you should take it
I may skip leagues, but I will never skip a Sunday Roast.
Hey Ziz. You are saying its so easy to get endgame crafts and here I am- a total noob when it comes to poe endgame crafting. Could you maybe make a guide extra for that? Or is there already one out? I feel so lost xD
I would like to learn how to make a decent character without following guides. What to look for? I always go for gear that is life + res, all the life that I get on the passive skill tree and notes that synergise with the skill/weapon that I am using. What else should I look out for? Thanks!
I usually just look on Poe ninja at builds, to get a general idea of how I need to build. then just kind of wing it depending on if I’m dying or if I need damage.
That's where you start. To upgrade the build you look at similar builds and steal good parts of it. Over time you memorize those and you can make a new build from the ground up while taking them in consideration (from gems to good three nodes to good uniques). Some very unique builds are way harder because the bits that make it work are exclusive to it and don't do anything on other builds or even break them. That's where you need to really know how the game works.
@@poncio2632 one thing that throws me off is when hovering above the skill, in hotbar it shows the DPS. I tend to upgrade the equipment etc., so the number increases. However, it seems like a bunch of stuff is not calculated in it, like damage over time, poison, etc. Hence I see Toxic rain builds with no phys dmg bows, but having such a bow, shows that DPS is lower. Such things seem super counterintuitive to me.
@@GailitisPrintmaking Don't look at the tooltip! Toxic Rain especially is built around the dot part and the tooltip only shows the hit damage of one arrow (same with essence drain and most dot builds.) You should download Path of Building community fork and plan/import your builds there. If you really want to look at damage in game you can hover toxic rain on the skill bar and it should show the dot in the stats of the skill, note that's also for one pod and doesn't count overlapping ones wich is very important for toxic rain.

How much ES should I have without passives before respeccing to ES/CI?

Depends a lot on how much you'll have after respeccing, you can load your char into POB and just switch the passives there to see the end result. Last patch I was ED contagion and switched in T2 maps, had 7k ES with a ton of evasion and that felt great
The 2nd guide's mana flask wasn't recovering anything because he had enduring, but corrupting blood immunity and the other mod that comes with immunity (60-75 or some amount) reduced recovered. Hope they see this.
Yeah, the reduce amount recovered caught me off guard as well this patch, but it's quite significant.
I think Ziz has gotten a lot better at being mean. I think it helps that the roasting and helping part have their own section. Good video.

also allways seems weird when someone has parts of his build completely correct setup and then some things are just complete shit makes you wonder how he fcked but the rest then if not cause he bought some stuff or a friend made 30% of his build and he fcked up the other 70%

Every league I feel so bad about my build whenever I hit a wall. Then I watch your roasts and feel like a god. Still haven’t touched T16s, not cause I don’t think I can but I’m worried about 1 shots rn until I get some more evasion. Also ziz you can fix your armors after bricking with tainted fusings by just 4 link bench crafting to save fusings and trying again

Btw I have around 400 deaths 77fire 78 cold 77 lightning 74 physical and about 4.1k hp and “ good dps “
You need extra layers, evasion+armor is really good this league. If you only have 4K life than yes you will get 1shot every single time an enemy deals 4K+ damage
Running determination + grace with jade and granite flasks is nice, and something cast on damage like a gaurd skill or Vaal molten shell. Enduring cry is like having another life potion for one gem slot

Joe look at armor benchmark in PoE wiki to see what damage 20k armor mitigates, if you have no other layers it won’t be enough after yellow maps.
I have 4.5k like, 40k evasion + 20k armor, 100% spell suppression on a toxic rain raider and I will only ever die if I go really far in scourge and get 1shotted by something nasty
Of course the vaal orb hits +2 aoe gems lol

I struggle with this game because following a build guide just seems incredibly unfun. It's someone else making the decisions for you. I guess it's a good way to learn the game though.
Its a bad way to learn the game.The better way to learn is to learn from your own mistakes. Some mistakes are hard to spot,for example divine flasks being better than eternals,you'd just think that you died bcs you were hit by stronger mobs,rather than bcs you have a worse flask.
Tilt Monger no, there are many build guides that thoroughly explain stuff that noobs need to know before making their own builds .. or they will probably forever be stuck missing some hidden knowledge that the game doesn’t explain well
@@tiltmonger9448 There are too many variables in this game to learn from your own mistakes. You can play that way but it is my opinion that you should not. In a MOBA if you get coaching they will tell you to play the easiest champion first. They want you to learn the mechanics of gameplay without having to think about the intricacies of what items to buy and having a lot of activatable items to time correctly. It is so much easier to have a build path set for you and use the knowledge someone else painstakingly acquired so that you don't have to make those same mistakes. There is still an infinite amount of things to learn in POE that having a build guide will NOT take away your opportunity to learn from your mistakes. You WILL make plenty of mistakes even with someone telling you exactly what to do. You can't deterministically craft every item from day1 so you will still have inflection points where you have to make a decision. Your resis, your move speed, your stance swapping or potion rolling. All of the little things in POE make the game intricate and difficult to master, so adding in big things like build viability make learning that much more difficult. If you start with a trash build then there is a very high chance you will NEVER make it to some of the later game content and thus you will NEVER have the chance to learn from your mistakes during boss fights b/c you will never have those boss fights to start with. I'm just trying to help people understand why starting with a good foundation is solid advice for new players and they shouldn't feel ashamed for following someone else's footsteps until they can at least crawl, rather than entering a marathon before they've even developed feet while still in the womb.
I usually will find some video and do their build, just incase....but end up doing 2-3 of my own and end up enjoying them more since its something I figured out.
So far minions, coc, bows are my easiest to do.
Now for melee I can't figure that crap out either its good but super slow or just sucks in general lol.
