+ADKMTNS Glad to hear it! I think you'll have a lot of fun with it. They work a little differently than American axes, but once you get used to them and adapt your chopping strategy they're an absolute joy to use. I have some nice American axes that I use from time to time, but I most commonly reach for my various Italian ones these days!
I bought this from you. It works great. Only change I'd make is to swell the very end of the handle so it doesn't slip out of your hands when chopping for a long time or in wet weather. TERRIFIC AXE!
We actually had custom hickory handles made for these with an offset neck that improves the balance of the tool, and they have a small flare at the butt end of the handle for just that purpose. :) www.baryonyxknife.com/byprcohaforr.html
Never felled a tree using an axe. Is it required to cut so high up? I imagine it would be comfortable for swinging but is it possible to cut lower to the ground with an axe the way you can with a saw? Cutting permits where I live mandate you to cut much lower to the ground, because you're leaving behind such a huge piece of wood there.
Safety with the awkward footing in that location. There's something of a ravine behind it and vegetation obscuring access to full swings low to the ground on the other.
Looks like a beast of an axe! Looks almost like a Dane axe (has a bit more heft than one I imagine).
+Jeffrey Hill With a nominal head weight of 1300g, it's about 2.87lb. :)
their factory is here in Italy not far from where I live. We are very lucky because we can buy these tools for about 30-35 Euros (4o usd)!
Just got mine from you in the mail Benjamin...trying it out this week! It is one mighty axe!!!

That axe looks like epic!!!
tripod malfunction? you're supposed to say that the axe hit the tree with so much force it caused a mini earthquake :P
Exactly! And the tripod wasn't stable enough to withstand the earth-shattering force. :D
Where I live ,, we all have an ax Rinaldi. Great price and quality.
Hi how and where can I order this axe from and how much are they can I get them by ordering in Canada

Thanks for the Video Barry.
that thing looks massive and it only weighs 1300 grams! I have a german felling axe with half the bit size that weighs 1400 grams
Yup! Broad, deep, and thin!
Goes to show weight isnt everything.
Chopping so good you felled the world :P

It's fully possible to cut lower, but this tree was in an awkward location and the chief concern was in making sure that it went where intended.
Felling the tree so high up?
Because of the location, it was safest and easiest to fell at that height and then deal with the stump separately.
Why such a high stump?
Safety with the awkward footing in that location. There's something of a ravine behind it and vegetation obscuring access to full swings low to the ground on the other.
Because he quite obviously doesn't know what he is doing.
BAD ASS!
how much for one sent to australia
je viens de m'en commander un en 1kg300 et une en 0kg500!
I want one
A good ten minutes
Stupid to have a handle that long makes horrible form and accuracy cut that thing in half and you’ll have a real feller
The end to end length with the stock handle is 34-1/4". The custom handles we had made for them are 32".
If u cut that handle in half you get a single hand axe with a gigantic blade doesnt make any sense, but 15cm would be ok .
