I so get the living on your own as a peace of mind. I enjoyed this video. My story: I went from living with my parents and siblings to college roommates to being married and raising a family. My husband, of 32 years, passed away 14 months ago from cancer. All of our children are grown. This past year has been the first time in my life that I've lived alone. I've been in sheer survival mode for most of this last year. Between grief and the financial struggle. He didn't have life insurance, and what little we had in savings went to paying for his last arrangements. I am 55, not old enough in the state of CA to receive his social security, and he had no retirement funds either. I work full-time as a Pre-K teacher, and losing half of my monthly income was a shock. I've had to Hussle and advocate for myself to get in a place of growth instead of just surviving. I'm so glad to come across your program while I'm on summer layoff so I can focus on learning how to budget, save and use this method. If you've made it this far reading my story, thank you!
Geez Louise are you strong! I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and struggles. I hope life treats you a little easier now and that you'll have a breather soon. Sending all the love I have and thank you for sharing your story 💜
I love your videos! I'm just watching the playlist while I'm at my desk working, eating, and organizing. Thank you for sharing with us and being real. 💜💜💜
Moving states cost us over $2200 each of the 3 times. Moving within the same state, 2 hours away, moving ourselves with a uhaul was still over $500. I suggest going online and looking at moving companies local and you can get free quotes!
I just love to see and hear you count money in every video. Can you do a video, just counting money? It's very relaxing to me! Your voice is very soothing!
Movers are essential! I’ve moved twice in the past year and it was about $750 in total, and then I tipped the two guys about $40 each. For reference I live in NC!
I just booked the movers to move to my new apartment in a new city and I can’t wait for a new start! My current neighbours have made a very toxic anxious environment for me and I’m bored of the current city. Looking forward to seeing you get your first apartment 💜
I am so excited to get started I’m watching all your videos to be as well informed about this as possible and I already have a system of numbers that work for my budget just waiting on my orders to get to me so I can start filing everything in their perspective categories but @Baddies and Budgets got me started on doing the system I have in place I’m so excited for the binders I ordered
Hey, you're back!! Yes, I am loving your saving progress for your future apartment. You're making so much progress! I'm going on 3 years in my place, I live with a roommate and wish for the day to live alone in my own home. I am hoping to start saving for a small, modest home in the next 3 to 4 year years!
I’ve moved a couple of times with movers and it’s definitely the way to go! I requested quotes by calling the companies first and they were able to give me an estimate based on how many bedrooms etc. I had at the time. I’ve used them to put my things in storage and then to take my belongings out of storage and into a house. Also one company offered to wrap all my items and pack them which was an extra fee. I want to say I paid anywhere from $1000-$1300 adding in distance and depending on how many people they had to send. But moving out of a house with a whole family is going to have your girl budgeting a year in advance because from single to family of four is no joke!!! Good luck and continue to protect your peace because it’s priceless 💜
Jas...one of the items we splurged on was our bed! Girl, my hubby and I are getting older and need our sleep..😆 Was $5,000 but it's a king and reclines up and down, vibrates and lights up...LOL. Worth every penny! Love these videos ❤️
I used movers but I had a full household 3 bedroom 2 bath kitchen living room den and it was 2400 I’m in west Texas, if you have less stuff just get a u-haul and go it yourself save the money!
Oo, I feel that wanting to live alone. My husband and I are from different countries and could never stay in one place for a while so renting or buying a place would have been impractical. So for 5 years we've either been staying with his family or my family and it is exasperating. This year is the first time we could start planning, saving up, and preparing to get our own place. Not long-term and by no means luxury, but at least we will be on our own 🌼
I feel ya on getting a new bed. Sleep is so important. I am saving up for a new bed called the Big Fig I am debating if I want get the base that goes into sitting position. Love the video!
Pretty nails ❤️Yesss to spending good money on a proper bed and mattress. Sleep should be a priority. I'm with you on not doing manual labour 😂Well done on completing the sheet! Keep going, Jaz!
I moved from Arkansas to South Carolina 3 years ago and we paid someone to pack up our house, take it to SC, and then put it in our third floor apartment. That cost us roughly $3,300. I have talked to a few people about local moving now that we are back in Arkansas and they quoted us around $1,000. It honestly just depends on the business and how much you are moving. Also, thank you for sharing these videos because you have encouraged us to start cash saving and in less than a month, we have over $2,000 saved!
Girl, i completely understand the peace of mind with your living arangements. I lived with family for a while and barely paid any bills and could still be there until this day, but its not worth you peace, and mental stability. I moved out 4 years ago and even though all my money goes to bills i would not have it any other way. Its like i can finally breath and have peace of mind and even when i go to visit my family i can leave when i feel like my peace is leaving me. So you are doing what is best for you and its great. love you videos too!
Girl yes I got a set of plates saucers bowls and coffee cups for my dinning table from 99cent only n they lasting way longer then the plates I got from Walmart the furniture store and Amazon who knew the plug be or local stores right
I totally understand where you are coming from when it comes to peace of mind. I love having my own place for my own peace of mind, so you have do what is right for you.
Money guys on Spotify podcast have great tips. One main tip for real estate is to not do it unless you plan on being there at least 5 years. Hope that helps! Love your content.
I feel you about the rent. I opted for a yearly cellphone plan for the same reason. I need a phone for emergencies and job offers plus I can use the hotspot for the internet to search for jobs. priorities of adults. I love my cash envelope community. You all keep me motivated.
We moved a year ago and had movers for one apt to another and it was about $300 - we in Oregon. Hope it’s not too much more in texas! So excited to see the new place
I love your videos, they're so motivating and it makes me feel like I can also get my finances under control. I am so happy for your progress and the fact that you're moving to another space. Honestly I feel what you said about paying in mental stress, its the same for me. Its not worth it, just makes everything 10x more difficult than it needs to be. I can't wait for your next video!
I am loving the nails! I am planning on doing the same thing and get me an apartment binder once we're in the clear to save for it. Just gotta keep paying that debt off till then gonna watch your apartment binder grow.
This is great!!! You are so inspiring!!! I get so excited when I see you post, I follow you on everything cause you keep us motivated to hit them goals!!!🤗🤗
I am so happy and GRATEFUL for you and your content! You are consistent and an excellent teacher, model, .... Continue to do what you do! Love ya! Please do a tutorial on your nails ... love them!!!
I was very fortunate to stumble across your channel a few days ago. I started my own business almost a year ago and I am on the struggle bus even when I know where my money is going. Since finding you I have watched almost all your videos. ❤️❤️❤️
I missed your last handful of videos! :( Gotta get back on track. I wish I had started saving for my move the way you are with a whole binder just for it, I've just been saving into my "moving" envelope lol but my 100 envelope challenge is specifically for my move so I think I'll have my bases covered with that. Starting fresh is definitely a good idea! I've moved cross country 3 times, this next move will be my fourth lol but looking at moving about a one bedroom apartment with couches, I've spent anywhere from $400 for just gas and small trailer to move with two vehicles, this next move I'm estimating about $3,000 to use a moving truck and just put my vehicle on a trailer behind. It really depends, but if you can figure out what is coming with and what's not and figure out if you need a moving truck or not, that's a great base for pricing, you never know if gas is going to be horrendous or not right off the bat. This post got long so I'll shut up after this lol but my biggest piece of advice as someone who's moved a lot and moved by myself, take it literally a step at a time, create a list of priorities, if something doesn't make the initial list, leave it alone and don't stress about it. Cover your big bases before your small bases, don't buy anything until you're moved in to avoid not having the space for something and buy slowly. Buy the priorities first, then slowly buy the other stuff in case a big expense comes up :) Good luck and you'll do just fine :)
I so get the living on your own as a peace of mind. I enjoyed this video.
