La gimnasia de Russia es la que más me gusta. Sin duda muy originales y sus ejercicios arriesgados :) Espero que ganen el oro en Londres 2012 porque se lo merecen.
How come there's not this kind of originality in 2012 routines. This was something fresh and new! And the slow motion of Pichuzhkina is just lovely.. I miss her.
With a somewhat simplistic choreography, the Russian team has lectured in the domain of one of the most difficult apparatus gymnastics. It is remarkable prowess and skill gymnasts displayed when picking up balls with your feet and femininity and poise with which to make turns on its axis. A new gold medal entering the golden hall of the brand new Russian Federation. The dresses were the finest gymnasts in the competition.
@94Flordeliza No, you are right! They have a new choreographer/coach, she was the same coach who handled the junior group in 2005 - 2010 and she was known for contemporary work like this.
@xuarxu Oh, I really like this choice of music. It's very different which is why this routine is so impressive. I thought they packaged everything really well, the music, choreography and costumes. IMHO. And they won gold with this routine, so I guess the coaches made the right move.
@nechta86 Martzius65 loves saying negative comments about Russian group because he is a biased (and very unsporting) fan of Italian group. I'm also Italian like her, but I love Russian group, and I don't have any problem in admitting that a group is better than my national group. More, she didn't even notice that Italian group drop a ball in Event Finals. I'm sure she would have noticed the drop if it was made by Russian group. -__-
The part at 1:17 - 1:18...I'll never understand why this is a part of the choreography. It's so random...and slightly inappropriate looking in a very awkward way. Then there's the part at 2:05 - 2:08, it's such a beautiful catch but then they just leave it there. Other than that, one of the best choreographies of the year. Very well performed in this final, deserving of gold for sure...maybe not by a whole point though...
@Martzius65 Italy is strong group, but i haven't seen so many catches without hands in Italy's routine with 5 balls, and Russia was always stronger by body difficulty elements. Noone gave them that medal they deserved that.
Oh that was one of the worst soundtracks ever used in a rhythmic group routine-i just dont understand what the russian coach was thinking,so bad taste...
Of all the choreography of the best teams, this is what I like least. There is no emotion, there is no spectacle. Then, a point of difference with Italy? Ridiculous .. and Italy did better here than in the All Around, and has been judged less! Now they know they can not finish the tournament without giving at least one gold medal to Russia. And one day all this will pay for the rhythmic gymnastics!
I'm kinda agree with you, but I think that what called the attention was that Russia didn't have this style of routines since the year 2000 when they performed to Julian Cope's music for their 10 clubs routine. Since then all their routines were following the same style. This was a break for them. In 2012 they went back to _normal_ , so I think we'll have to wait SO MANY MORE YEARS to see a routine like this one again. U.U

Simple perhaps, but definitely not simplistic.
The most graceful group. Pichuzhkina's face as if from Botticelli's paintings...
@Ederuvaiso I love this music, too. It's called Olei by Nino Katamadze, a Georgian jazz singer. You can find it on iTunes.
