Another nice video on the ABANA National Curriculum (level-1). Some very good information. I'll sign off on you completing this stage of your journey to ABANA instructor.
Very nice video this week. Very useful and every information video sir. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
That's one of the biggest things I notice with new smiths, especially. Little tiny taps that don't do much. We're moving metal you need to mean it when you hit it.

Ventilation is high on my list of things to fix with our shop. One of the downsides of an all volunteer blacksmithing group at a non-profit is how long it takes to get things done. We encourage masks but don't mandate them.

Glad you liked it.
I am glad you mentioned using a full swing. It drives me nuts when I see a ‘smith do the pitter patter strokes. I wanna say HIT IT ALREADY!

I stand back and lean over when an anvil is too low. It is hard on the back.
Proper height anvil makes a big difference if you're going to be hammering all day.

Bell hammer for lineman
..i felt like a dummy when i looked it up...
Yup. Fun and unusual hammer.
What is it used for? A friend of mine bought me one he found while antique shopping. I had to have it cause I’ve never seen one until now.
