Everything about John is inspirational. From the lyrics of the songs he sings to the longevity of his career, the fight he had to make it to the Top and his ability to stay there. His love of his family, the team he surrounds himself with, his relationship with his fans, his kindness, his philanthropy to his fight against cancer. That's why he is the legend that he is. Helps that he is one of the best singers to ever live and easy on they eye to boot.
I played a whole album of John's Christmas songs on Christmas Day, and my whole family, which includes my grandchildren, and great grandchildren, sang along with him. In fact, after it had finished, my 6 year old grandson wanted me to play 'You're The Voice' and 'Two Strong Hearts', and we all danced and sang along to that, too. I had four generations there that day who love and appreciate 'The Voice'. His legacy will live on forever in my family. John Farnham is the goat!!!!
I’ve been listening to John for 40 odd years and it never gets old. This classic song has been performed by many people and other versions of it by John but this is by far the most magical version. So much passion and emotion, voice is unwavering and just perfect. His mic control is next level and breath control is epic. If you notice most singers you can hear when they take a breath but with John you don’t, amazing. The greatest male vocalist of all time. And his usual lineup of backing vocalist awesome.
We are so lucky to have had John in our generation, and as you pointed out, his legacy and voice will be immortal through his recordings. But you are playing no small part yourself mate. By sharing your reactions across the world, there are people still only just discovering John. Thank you so much Roskoe, Happy New Year mate.
It's not just John's incredible voice that we love, it's the Human being that he obviously is John has made us laugh, he has made us cry & recently he made us pray. I am nearly 70 yrs young! I have been privileged to enjoy John's career from the very beginning. This cover of You'll Never Walk Alone is magical.
I love his backup singers. Miss Venetta came from America and she sang backup for many greats including Whitney Houston. She was in 2 movies and she could have been a star of her own. So could Lisa and Lyndsey but they chose John and you have to know him to understand why. He is love and kindness. When they sing Amazing Grace live Miss Venetta sings first, then John comes in and puts his sweaty arm around her. She just looks up at him with love and has the look of a proud Mama, I love that lady and they all stayed for their whole careers. John taught us that every person on that stage is important and everyone has a name. I didn’t know any backup singers names before John. We are so Blessed to have him. His Bio Pic is now on RUclips called Finding the Voice. It is really worth watching and you will understand more about him. Thank you.
Excellent comment. Venetta looks like a proud mentor (or mum) gazing up at John in Amazing Grace. I also adore him singing Granada (a Pavarotti staple) with Anthony Warlow as a comedy routine
Great reaction Rosco - John is an interpreter of songs and his delivery not only is amazing because of his voice but his interpretation and emotion he adds to his vocals makes his performances so much better ❤❤❤
Ah Roskoe I was ok at holding back the tears until you spoke about his battle and the words of this song....Can hardly see to type my response...especially right now having lost my dear sister yesterday after her long battle with such a cruel disease. The words to this song are so uplifting right now....But that is also down to the fact that John sings from his heart and means what he sings. whew! thank you for this wonderful reaction and your moving words of praise.
I love everything that John does, however, you mentioned that John wrote this song...unfortunately that is incorrect, "You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel. I saw your reaction to the other one on UTube the 1994 version for the Drought Relief concert, and that is my favorite, the fact that he could "chew gum" and still sing this so incredibly, blows my mind. ruclips.net/video/dWTEesb7FrY/видео.html
I hear what you’re saying about Lindsey, Venetta, and Lisa. The same applies to his musicians. Hugely talented people fall all over themselves to work with John
Another top Christmas carol is the song immediately before this. Song was a beautiful rendition of Mary’s boy child which @is the loveliest I’ve ever heard.
Hey Roscoe. John did a great job as always. As you said a very inspirational song that I appreciate for myself. A few other artists that covered this song are Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli

They started as back up singers, and became friends. That is how he introduces them.

I saw him sing this live in 1988 when my girlfriend dragged me along to his concert.. Never forget how good that was. His version is one of the best.
If his voice and the lyrics don’t move you then your not human lol
Love Carols by Candlelight and John❤

😢
It has a memoir coming out on the 30th of October 2024 which he has chosen to oversee himself and write it. I have already pre-ordered mine.😊
I grew up listening to this voice.
What an incredible experience... and ALWAYS... Always ...listen to John Farnham Live
