I am going the same root learning to turn with RUclips video's. One of the really neat things I have found is I am watching and learning from wood turners all over the world. I always enjoy Libor Stacha's work. And also, always enjoy watching Richard Raffan turning something who was mentioned in the video. Both are outstanding wood turners in my opinion.
I guess I am in good company, I too am a beginner and started by watching Richard. I have only been doing it for 5 month. The trouble I am having is getting to the point where I think my work is good enough to sell. With every piece, I still see imperfections everywhere. My wife says I crazy, she love everything I make. Was there a time when you felt this way?
@@EXARCWithGrandpop I have been turning for a couple of years now. I have not sold a single thing, have not even tried to. I have given a few bowls and boxes to friends and family who think they are great. Mostly I have been using scrap wood and old logs to practice on and just enjoy turning and learning and improving my skills. I am just getting comfortable now where I am considering purchasing some nice lumber to turn something of a higher end project. I would suggest maybe checking out some arts and craft shows, maybe flea markets and do some comparisons to your work? There is a company in my area that sells hand turned wood bowls. It is impressive operation for manufacturing the bowls. But their gimmick is they have their shops to sell where the people with big money live. Which makes sense .
Ahoj Libor. Mám 63 a o dreve som nevedel nič...! Prajem Ti veľa úspechov a tvorivej mysle.
Libor
Watching this video and living a dream....really fantastic! Your shop is perfect, you are a master and the music is fantastic! Thanks Libor!
Thank you very much Umberto. Take care
I'm 5 years into this as well, RUclips training. Great hobby! Nice production and lovely work.

Always a pleasure to watch a master at work. Would love to have had an English translation.
