You need to cut a slice 1cm thick of belacan, tamarind paste, chili paste mixed and cook well in the work with little vege oil, onions, garlic with bit of salt for nice taste. You may add some sugar or brown sugar or palm sugar according to your taste. Awesome Bro!! Only in Malaysia + cucumber + egg + peanuts + bilis ...
It's hard to say which is the best bcoz many Malays make wonderful nasi lemak. Have u tried nasi kerabu? U will like it too....the rice comes with some cabbage, tossed shaved coconut, fresh herbs, salted duck egg and delicious sambal. This Nasi Kerabu is harder to find than nasi lemak.
It's slightly on the high side for the nasi lemak at village restaurant but what the heck! It's delicious.. Lunch time is crowded and parking is a problem there.
That looks very delicious with all the flavors as expected, and the peanuts too. Maybe try a few more places just for comparison ? ;)) it looks like the chicken has a coating of marinade then gets tossed in the deep fry. I think it stays moist by cooking it in larger pieces, then hacking it.

I tell you the best coconut milk is not in a can or box (instant version). The best one is the raw version, take the old coconut fruit, grind the white flesh in the coconut and get the grated coconut. After that squeeze it hard and you will get the coconut milk. Use this to cook nasi lemak.

I think the egg is plain boiled along with cucumbers almost as a palate cleanser or to balance the fattiness and spiciness of the dish. If not it’s just too cloy. Usually I dislike cucumbers due to its lack of flavour but in nasi lemak it’s essential to offset the oil in the chicken and sambal and the richness in rice.

Steve don't you think the potion is a bit small.. but having said that its very well presented with a banana leaf lining to give it that touch of traditional aesthetic.. as for the sambal.. all good traditional Malay sambal should have Belacan ( shrimp paste ) as a foundations in the Sambal paste.. but i prefer the Siamese style sambal made with fish sauce as a substitute to Belacan.. but you only find these in the north.. i.e. in Penang and Kedah and in all the southern Thai Malay state.. but i also heard there's a really good posh breakfast place in Bangsar.. ( not sure if its still there ) worth checking that out..

Village Park is decent and reasonably priced for what you get. If you have time you could also try Botak Nasi Lemak which claims to be the 2nd Best Nasi Lemak in Petaling Jaya... I'd say it's an undisputed 2nd best because so far I haven't heard anyone else fight for the 2nd best spot... :p

I know it sounds ridiculuous but have u tried the nasi lemak at MC Donald's? Only in malaysia MCd had that menu. It is quite good but be careful because the sambal is superspicy. If u want to try u can try the nasi lemak with spicy chicken. For me it's tasty, worth to try😊👍
Is the sambal sweet?! It hard to find good nasi lemak and sambal! The nasi lemak I used to eat when I was very young are more declious. Stir fry kangkung instead of cucumber was the common veg and sambal was fragrant, not too sweet nor salty - just the right balance and spicy.
I will say this regarding nasi lemak. A lot of the popular places being recommended on YT is allright but not the best. Some are probably even overated. Some of them used to be really really good, hence why they went viral in the first place but a lot of them kinda went from excellent to mehhh over the years. I'd say explore and try whatever looks good to you and be adventurous. You'll find some hidden gems along the way. Village Park is pretty allright but being the best? No..nope..nope nope

This is definitely not as hyped just like the famous hyped cendol in Penang. This is tasty but just average or below average nasi lemak. A Simple packet of authentic real Kampung nasi lemak from any mak cik is pure heaven. If you take a drive down any old road around Malaysia you will find it. This is marketing that's all.
You'd need to be more specific, perhaps? I have a few now and many have been really under average.. Anyway, I will continue to seek better..

MSG galore here! First and last time I ate here. After eating..I was thirsty the whole day. Really shocking! Go eat here only if you love to swallow tons of MSG.

Yes, I was going to say our Malaccan nasik lemak must have kangkung (morning glory), ikan bilis and peanuts. In Singapore their nasi lemak have none of the three but replaced by otak otak, and fish cake and fried ikan kuning, I stopped eating their nasi lemak.

the way u eat is just like eating KFC,u don't even eat the chicken with rice and sambal together....not sure if u are getting the real taste of nasi lemak.....
I am not sure you watched the Video but never mind. I'm not in the habit of bullying people to eat the way I demand.. I tend to think people have their own autonomy, maybe you can respect that but also, take a moment to watch the video..
