It must taste amazing compared to store bought. I have so much respect for this couple. I wonder if your guys could collaborate with these amazing people to film the secrets and process so that the knowledge isn't lost. You wouldn't have to air it if they want privacy. Just an archive.
Chinese parents often want their kids to have a “better life” than they did. No parent wants their kids to have to do such strenuous work with such long working hours with minimal earnings (profit is usually low on these foods). I’m sure they rather have their children working easier jobs that are less time and physically demanding. I feel bad for them too and I don’t want a culture to die but I don’t think their children should be taking over if I’m going to look at it from a parents perspective
yeah its basicaly the same pounded rice but since mochi is a japanese word and this is a chinese show, thats why its the chinese name for it not the japanese name. and even in china i think they have different name for it as well

I have heard of The Solstice Festival (winter) and Spring Festival but my first time learning they celebrate Double 9th festival as well.
traditionally you have to climb on a high mountain on that day

Mochi, Mochi...😋
Why they don't hire someone to help or buy machine to make it easier to do.
Rip to their social life when all the time they're working
This is what life is for most people.

How the hell does he have 4 kids under the 1 kid law in china?
That rule does not apply to most of rural China or minority ethnic groups.
Hmm muah chee..
Is it just me or do I hear a french accent in him?
4 children? one child policy?

Yeah, but rice cakes differ in taste and texture depending on country or region

YABA Mochi/rice cake is usually niangao. Apparently they call it ciba over there.
