I'm a dairy manager who has Beena in the grocery business for over 48 years Usually steel ribbed floor's are for dairy frozen food and produce so that water can drain and your not standing in liquid when you un load Dry good trailers a k a grocery trucks have Wood or steel floors We call the rear door configuration on that barn doors great vidy as always
Knocked it out of the park again. 👍 Was put on my list as soon as I saw it on the release video but still enjoy watching you build it. Always learn something new every time I see one of your videos.👌
The old ERTL kit. I had that kit a million years ago being towed by the ERTL Mack DM600 tractor. My first big rig model as a kid. The box art is the same too ! Awesome.
Very realistic results, Chris! The shots outside look amazing. Thanks for your time it was a FUN review. I remember your beer truck photos looked equally as good. Great work HPI Guy.
Using bleach in a large enough tub will remove chrome surprisingly fast. Sometimes old toothbrush for stubborn spots will help. Rinse under running tap water.
After watching further in the video,I found the landing legs, that are in the instruction sheet, oops the reefer trailer in molded in gray and black. Great build
Chris+ she turned out beautiful keep up the great work I noticed tho there are not much in the way of new smia truck kits modern trucks only the two international kits by mobeus models the pro star and lone star like to see more of the newer trucks as well like Kenworth and Peterbilt with the airo package on them injoyed the build keep up the great work 👍🍻 Chris you can use tape to hold those big pieces of trailer together while you glue them make it a little easier to assemble
If I’m not mistaken, I think that was the ertl smokey and the bandit trailer from the early 80s, I could be wrong about that, but it looks like it though
This is in the great Dane reefer too, they borrowed it from the ertl extendable flat bed. I bet like the reefer the landing gear is not in the instructions, either.
I saw the video yesterday but had to watch again today. I work at a gravel plant and we have an old trailer sitting by the lane that we use for storage. I must have drove past it thousands of times but didn't notice til today this trailer has the same ribbed and riveted side panels and the door on the right side as well, just like 2:16, the exact rear frame at 3:08 except it had the roll up door instead of the type in the kit, and the hinges and latch on the side door 3:28 and landing pads 22:38 was exactly like the ones in the kit. I looked for the trailer name but couldn't find it, it wasn't at the top front. I'll have to look at the build plate which is what I meant to do after work but when I was done fueling and greasing the equipment I forgot about it. Other than 3 very minor differences I believe it is the same trailer I'm about to get a model kit of. 🤯 Just blows my mind.
Looks good when finished. I recently built the reefer version, and had a lot of warped parts; rear panel, side door, both chassis rails. Round2 was great, and were able to send replacements that I could actually work with.
I work for Food Lion. I would love to get hold of some Food Lion logo decals for this. I don't drive semis by the way. Just thought it would be cool to do.
I know it's a simple subject but this has to be one the best kits ever made, so rewarding to build. I built three or four of them in the 80s and they were just fantastic every time. If only ERTL had carried on, they made such great truck kits
Yup -- it's the former Ertl trailer. Those Ertl.parts really lock together well. The big AMT trailer was a Fruehauf and it came with a movable wheel dolly and vinyl airlines. The movable wheel dolly was more for drivability than weight transfer -- forward for tighter turns in the city, farther back for smoother handling on the highway. I was disappointed, Chris. I thought you'd give us a tutorial on wide-brush texturing the wooden floor. Great job!
Wrong - sliding wheels was for weight transfer - slide back more weight on the drives, forward less weight, also slid all the way forward, you would not want tight turns in traffic, as you would wipe out everything with the back end.
Hey Chris, Love the Show.. I will give you a chuckle. Did you know that ERTL produced 2 verisons of the dry stock trailer. I have had in my model stock the model you are building. 6 Months ago, i found the model without the side door, Great still sealed in shrink wrap. The kit arrives it takes me a couple of days to decide if i am going to unwrap this kit. I unwrap and open the box and find the right panel has a door, but if you look at the box photo smooth side no door. i checked the part number, same as the side door kit. Weird because i have owned the smooth side trailer. I do know that ERTL had quality beforegoingout of business. Keep up the good work.
I see all the great models your building but where the 1:16 scale firebird? I saw you show the box of the model but not made the video and hope you will do it soon. I’m looking forward to it.
And the trailer reminds me of a heavy underframed trailer that a truck clutch supplier sent in a delivery circuit for where I was working. I loaded cores in a heavy basket with a forklift, and unloaded fresh reman and new clutches from pallets from the rear door. That make for trying to get someone to make a few sets of decals for me.
It's called the Mansfield bar after actress Jane Mansfield ,after her death in she was killed in a rear end collision with semi truck her driver was going too fast on a high way and collided with a back end of a semi trailer her 1966 Buick sedan is now a museum piece her children were in the back seat they survived but tragically did not
I wish for more modern day trucks and trailers your see everyday on the interstate.
Same here except the other way. I wish for 50's and 60's trucks and trailers that us baby boomer generation used to see all the time 😄.
God that is so cool. I was so lucky to be a kid in the early 80s when rigs were the thing.
Ohh man same here late 80's into the 90's! Great times for the big rigs!

Happy to see them integrate the brakes to the axles ....sometimes I find them aggravating. 👌👍👍
Love the big trucks and trailers.
Very nice looking trailer - pretty big.
YEAH 👍 👍 Had 2 back in the day NICE BUILD VERY"NICE Classic TRAILER 👌 need a few 10-4 O.G.CALIFORNIA BACK QUIET 🤫!"
I think you are correct about the landing gear. I have been around trailers for many many years and haven’t seen wheels in a long time.
Looks like you need to build an addition onto your paint booth for that bad boy 😀
Awesome kit , great build as always.
SOOO KOOOOOLLLLL .
👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Great Finish.
Mike .
Great job as always Chris stay safe and positive keep up the great work
Nice build!
Thanks Chris for doing these videos! I watch every one. I got back into the hobby 4 years ago. now really going at it since retiring.
Hi Chris, that was a awsome looking kit, you have done a superb job once again, best regards from Australia.
Love what you do my friend, GOD Bless !!! 😇👍🏼
Great build Chris
There's the MTN WAY and the hpiguys Workshop way. When the two combine - a super fine build is not far behind. Thanks again for all you do.
Thank you RA!
Always a beautiful result 👍😊👌💖
Trailers are always fun to build!!! 👍👍

Love it.
Love the build Chris, reminds me of when I built mine as a kid. P.S. I used to hide my snacks and allowance in it!
The detail is amazing.
Those outdoor shots are superb. Great build Chris.

Nice build as usual! Will be buying one!
In those end pictures, that trailer looks super realistic !!!!!
Thanks!

Was released as the part 2 trailer. Which makes no sense as part 2 was a Dorsey drop deck trailer.
This is in the great Dane reefer too, they borrowed it from the ertl extendable flat bed.
I bet like the reefer the landing gear is not in the instructions, either.

By the way, the spare tire cradle 19:59 is the exact same as well.
Came out great . Loved the photos at the end.
Thats a nice build Chris. I built one some years ago went together real nice. Thanks for sharing your build.
The Mansfield bar named after Jane Mansfield after her tragic accident.
Looks good when finished. I recently built the reefer version, and had a lot of warped parts; rear panel, side door, both chassis rails. Round2 was great, and were able to send replacements that I could actually work with.
It was an ERTL kit before merging with AMT

Thanks to you Chris, I'm into trailer kits. You're a great salesman !! I bought the Millar truck and trailer because of your channel.
Super cool! Too big for my appartment tho, but really nice to see it built
They slide the carriage forward if the nose is heavy, slide it back if it is tail heavy.
Very cool bub, absolutely outstanding as always. Keep on rocking 🤘!

@@fredericia01 I see I'm not the only one that pulled one of these for a living. Also, the roofs are all raw aluminum.
How many models have you built over the years you’ve been on RUclips? And where do you display them?
Как всегда замечательно вышло.)))
I the old ertl kit?
For 1980ern.
Build vor 5Years.
Top Trailer!😀
Awesome trailer Chris!!
Looks great Chris.Do you know why that bar is called a Mansfield Bar?Because of Jayne Mansfield.Keep up the great work
I built a couple of those kits back in the 70s
Very nice mate👍
I need this with "Old Home Bread" decals and "Metz Baking Co." decals for the truck.

Looks very very 😎, do you or anyone have a replacement product for the Pledge finish thanks for your time.

Do you know where you can find some older style trailers? All the ones I’m finding are newer styles something pre 1970’s era
Can you do the Amt big rig semi trailer please this build is driving me crazy trying to put it together
It would be cool to build this and make some leaking radioactive waste barrels to put inside along with some green led lights inside the trailer
Will you be doing the Turbo Terrific build some time later?
They forgot the new modern ones….passing side…..suicide…
