- This DNNHero.com video will show you how to install DotNetNuke on your computer from start to finish. It will walk you through all different steps and make you aware of the possible pitfalls.
@axelhildenberg if you have gone through the initial setup properly you just need to call the local site name and the installation will kick off. Let's say if you called it DNN5 , then just call localhost/DNN5 and the installation will run automatically.
Thank you very much for this tutorial!
@digink Sure this is a v.late reply... but just thought to share with you I had the same problem today & I checked my Web.config for connection strings etc. I had no password specified. This solved my problem.
@digink I had the same problem. I figured out the problem by looking at the SQL server log files. I didn't have SQL authentication allowed on my server, and allowing that fixed the error.
@camcamhu you can call this URL /install/install[DOT]aspx?mode=install
How do you get to the installation page? The one that says: custom, typical, and auto on it? Currently, i am able to get there by using microsoft webmatrix but that is a completely different way of installation, and i'd really rather to install it using this method.
@digink The database user name and/or password that you are using are not working. You should check the database user name and password.
@ajfytd2k I wish it would be easier. If you see a more straightforward method, post it here and I will have a look.
Thanks,

I am getting this error at the database configuration:
Connection Error(s):
Index #: 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 18456
Message: Sql login failed
Can you please help?
@redhuntr Sou sim! Temos videos em português no nosso grupo de usuarios: Pagina Videos - dotnetnukebrasil PONTO com PONTO br
I do not see this interface on DNN's web site. Address dotnetnuke.com gets redirected to dnnsoftware.com, and there is completely different site there. Is this tutorial still relevant ?
Hey Dragan, this video is 6 years old - Still relevant but a lot has changed, including the "DotNetNuke" brand, which is now "DNN" - You can find more update content @ dnnhero.com
Você é brasileiro??? >: se for, pode fazer um video em portugues??
