  • LEGENDS OF THE OLD WEST presented by Black Barrel Media. During and immediately after the Civil War, the Texas frontier suffers from renewed attacks by the Comanche and Kiowa. One of the most notable is the devastating Elm Creek Raid. After the war, Texas briefly reconstitutes the Texas Rangers, but they’re not fully resurrected until the creation of the Frontier Battalion in 1874. Major John B. Jones becomes the commander and leads the battalion into a new era.

    These Texas Ranger stories are my favorite. Texas history, and particularly that of the Rangers, is some of the finest on this side of the planet. Those Rangers are the epitome of the American spirit and hold a hallowed place in the history of America.

    I would have stayed in the east rather than going out there..good rich soil and thick woods here in the east

      @@UncutSavage9858 The most famous & talked about long range rifle shot of the cowboy era. Taught, talked about & debated even today in military sniper schools.
