This is so nice to listen to and equal to watch. I used to go to a disco in Barmouth (1970's) I'd dance like this along with Derbs the DJ and others man life was good even though we were skint dancing to this wonderful music was a tonic... ;-)

There’s two vids. This is an overdub. The original is poor quality audio. The dancing and movement are pure and poetic. One cancels the other. A compromise maybe, but we are not all purists, but by Christ she was the nearest you would get to perfection. Fantastic musical interpretation!

That was Northern soul. Everyone enjoying the music and the dancing. Everyone so friendly with each other and no problems. The music made you feel so happy. Great times and great people. Nothing like it around anymore. Those times are long gone but the memories are everlasting.

Went to an old Aunts 80th birthday recently, only a small venue but us 60yr olds were dancing to these sounds for a few hours. Strange that I never new my relations had been into northern soul in the 70's. However we kept the faith and had a real good time.

Otis, your Mum was a wonderful dancer, she was the girl that put Northern soul into our hearts. She could entrance and beguile. So silky smooth, could glide I’m sure. Thanks to her Northern soul has been resurrected and will live forever. The new generation will look back and say yeh! That was the real Soul Girl! The original !

Thanks Docludi. Things make sense to me. A great Northern Soul sound has a good string and horn arrangement, Good backing Vox and a great singer to bring the soul into our ears. I am sure Ian Levine said Northern is becoming too commercialised. Also proof of our record companies in the 70's trying the crossover to disco is The Walter Murphy Band's :- California Strut. This was classed as Northern as the Record producers were getting us ready for the next Big thing being SAT Night Fever DISCO!!!!
I come back here regularly just to see this lovely lady dance.. Remember seeing her and family at Whitby. She lit up the dance floor with her great style, enthusiasm, and feel for the music. RIP.. KTF..

There were moments at the casino where i would sit and just goggle at the birds dancing mesmerized and in love. This lady would be on of them!!
