Thank you Jeff! We're glad you like the information. Although I (Lara) do most of the writing, the source of inspiration and information was my late father. Nina does all of the research to verify and expand on the stories I've heard over the years. And yes, Boston definitely had no shortage of double dealing gangster and law enforcement officers. Hope you keep listening! And again thank you :)

Hi Neal. Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them. It's definitely a regional thing, but I'm surprised how many people listen from other parts of the world.
Your dad must have had plenty of stories to tell. We will be covering more of Rhode Island later this season and the next.

It’s really great to see content about the Boston Mob as it is especially interesting to those who were living around the area or knew people who were close to the action... Brings back memories that I haven’t thought about in years....

My new favorite channel. Great info that is presented well with some funny outbursts. Haha!
Do you have any information about the Joe English Gang from MA (from approximate 40's on forward)?
My great uncle (From New Bedford, MA) was the right hand man to Joe English, and it sounds like the gang was based out of the Worcester area.
From the very few stories I have been able to scrape up, it sounded like an Irish "type" (my great uncle was not a drop of Irish) organized crime. Strong arming, possible hijacking, enforcing and who knows what else?
The gang no longer exists, so I haven't been able to find anything online about it. Any info leads would be much appreciated. Hopefully, there is enough info hidden out there that would stir up some interest to do an episode on it.
Another group that I am more distantly related to (discovered by family tree perusal) is the reportedly defunct Dubois Brothers from East Montreal.

Thank you! Glad you like the channel :)
I don't know anything about the Joe English Gang, but I will ask my cohost Nina. She's done quite a bit of research about organized crime in the Worcester area. What was your great uncle's name? Maybe she's come across him also. If she has any info, I'll be happy to share it with you. Who knows, there might be enough there for a bonus episode.
We'll be covering some of the Canadian connections later this season. I'll definitely take a look at the Dubois brothers.
      Best,
      Lara

Say what you will about Ray but he took care of ppl he knew, I mean everyday ppl even. My Mom grew up in Federal Hill and lost both her parent, her mom at 3 and dad at 10, and Ray always looked out for them and boght food for her and her brothers and sisters. I have a personel knowledge of the mafia from some of my family members and understand they we ruthless men but always took care of their own.

At 21 I dropped a fork while setting the table, so I knew the caller would be Mr. Patriarca, a small, dark, handsome Italian, who can change your life: 4eva: forever for better or for worse!
