  • Let's do some controlled testing of the training features available within MyNBA in NBA 2K23. Can we find a consensus as to what's the best approach?

    You could try checking the players “peak start” age in their vitals. From my experience players which peaks are later even if they have a higher potential will develop slower. Kind of like a Steph or Giannis. Whereas a player with a lower Peak Start age for example they get drafted at 20 and peak start is 22 by the time they reach 22 they should hit their potential and so they will progress a lot faster then if their peak start is 25. I think training has more to do with developing specific attributes, skills and badges whereas progression has more to do with potential and the aging of which they hit their “peak” or their Prime.

      That’s not true, if a player has a low peak start he will never reach his potential

    What's up Mike thanks for the video...Been playing 2k for a min and I've always seem to have issues with the training no matter how hard I train players they never seem to progress as you can see. One thing I notice is that if you look at the progression/training effects 2k sets everything on 50...progression rate, training effects, training intensity, work ethic, team player badge, no badge, and extremely confident. I'm sure we all can agree that a player/team that trains harder with a stronger work ethic at a higer intensity will progress atlot faster than a player/team with no work ethic low at low intensity. For example someone with kobes mamba mentality like lebron should progress/regress alot faster/slower than someone with who doesn't stride to be the best. So you'll have to adjust the number (REALISTICALLY...lol) to get any effects from training if not you'll get the same 1 pt progression every year whether you train hard or not. I'm pretty sure you can up with a realistic setting...looking forward to an update....

    The reason Jaden Ivey missed a lot of games in your test with the training is because you had load management on high and load management means basically relaxing more and taking off more games think players like Kawhi.

      @bob11002009 Год назад +2

      Well was Ivey the starter? If not, maybe putting him in the starting lineup changes the outcome?
      At the end of the day the base potential rules over everything so he can only get so far regardless. If his max potential is 90 then that’s the best you can do.
      I guess the real question is can you monkey with the shot distribution and assigned minutes played?
      If you INCREASE the minutes to mid/high 30 ppg that’ll help the stats/reps.
      I’m pretty sure there’s a way to make Ivey the primary scorer but I just can’t remember how to access it.
      For example if the team attempts 100 baskets in a game and he’s shooting 30% of that then that’d help the progression.

    I think when you put a player on “high” load management you are telling the coach to play them in less games to prevent them from getting too fatigued or injured like you would see with a Kawhi or Lebron. If you want your player to play in as many games as possible you go with low. That’s my understanding.
    Good news overall is it’s unpredictable and and not a huge impost considering we are assuming the CPU doesn’t take advance or these training options. This would be unlike Madden where you can easily progress your team into a super team in a few years.
