@@lucamassenzio7606I’ve beaten her with both deflects and parries only multiple times now on NG+7, and her healing is barely noticeable. @@safijivvaboi5081 yeah but i'm more talking about different styles of gameplay, the healing completely invalidates normal tank/guard builds, your opinion is one of someone that is very knowledgeable about the bossfight, but a bossfight has to be good for someone that goes in through the fog gate for the first time. Nice job!! I’ve been struggling trying to do this on NG+7 with her using the Great Katana and buffs; she heals an INSANE amount of health whenever she strikes your perfect deflects at this difficulty.
Yeah and you are also taking a lot more stamina damage too. Look up the multipliers for ng+ on the wiki. The biggest jump by far, for any of the stats that scale, is stamina damage from ng+5 to ng+6.
I found that at ng+7 and onward it’s honestly best to go for damage rather than defense. I just beat Consort Radahn this past Friday on ng+8 and my only saving grace was pure damage. I used the full Rakshasa armor set, sacred scorpion charm, two-handed sword talisman, curved sword talisman, great shield talisman, deflecting hardtear and bloodsucking cracked tear, golden vow, howl of shabriri, and giants crusher with holy affinity and royal knight’s resolve. I put it up on my channel if you wanna take a look at it, but good luck man!
Technically, they’re more like Lies of P deflects. Because unlike Sekiro, you can actually hit the button in the immediate moment before the attack hits and pull off the deflect. Sekiro has this weird thing where if you try and deflect within the last like eighth of a second before a hit lands, it won’t succeed-you’ll have needed to press the button *earlier* to succeed. But not here, though. Thankfully. They’re also a bit better than the LoP ones because they consume less stamina than even that game’s perfect deflect. The effect lasts a long time which is nice but, if I could change it, I’d make it a Talisman. And have that be one of the ones where it would actually be fitting for you to take more damage, instead of the back step-i-frames one, which shouldn’t have that effect.
Backstep I-frame talisman is actually the strongest thing in the game right now due to an oversight (I think?) they should most definitely be swapped. The bone bows AoW stance allows you to rapidly backstep as long as you mash properly and have medium or light load, the i-frames last long enough for you to backstep again before they're over. This also works on heavy load as you can cancel backstep with a block to do it faster in that state. I've been able to backstep through ganks invading, as well as consort radahn's light show. Wouldn't be nearly as bad if it was on a timer inside a physick. Edit: found a video of it. "JeeNiNe Media" - "Fromsoft needs to fix this..." Not sure if links work even if they're internal so thats the "author" - "title".
having it make you take more damage in pvp would make it almost useless, since with multiple opponents you get spammed on so much that you can't possibly deflect everything (and the stamina consumption is definitely there, especially against big weapons). right now it's more of a "timed challenge". defeat the enemies within 5 minutes. I do understand it sucks for pve that you can't use it throughout large areas. pc players with mods are gonna have fun with that.
Too powerful for talismans. If "spontaneous guard" were a mechanic without needing the Tear, then having a talisman to boost it further would've been nice. Make the inherent "spontaneous guard" either not change stamina consumption or not have 100% physical reduction, and leave the Tear version as‐is, and it'd be great.
oh that explains why i loved Lies of P ( Laxasia was such a good boss imho ) and had really hard time playing Sekiro ( so much so that i stopped playing, planning to return to it "one day" ). I just cant get the feel for Sekiro parries. Also, although i didnt tried out this tear yet, i agree that it should be a talisman. Doubt that they will do that, but it would be nice if they remove effects time all together and just make it so it lasts until death ( that seems like something realistic that could possibly get patched in or something ).
@@DreamskyDanceSekiro's Parry is perfect because all the Gameplay resolves around it, the Parry windows is higher because you don't have other ways to evade damage (dodge doesn't always work and there are a lot of attacks that you cannot dodge). In Lies of P and Elden Ring you have other ways to avoid damage, Rolling, blocking, the parry has to be perfect or it would be too easy (i say that but Elden Ring parry is easy as fuck with a Shield, the punishment it's nothing).

I tried this too!!! It's very fun but her healing is also why a lot of her attacks are better to be dodged. Only deflect and counter on the ones that you know she will not istantly run away. Phase 1 Waterfowl can be completely deflected without taking damage, it's all about the timing of the first deflect of each flurry. Phase 2 is tricky, maybe I was distracted and failed to perfectly deflect, but it seems that she still applies a good chunk of rot. I still survived it by deflecting the first, dodging inside the second and deflect again and hope you got the timing right, otherwhise you'll be 100% rotted. You'll still survive it anyway and if you have boluses ready you're good to go. Honestly it makes her fight a lot better, the healing is annoying as once reached 10% of her phase 2 health and she jumped back to 50%... but it was my fault of not dodging correctly and using the deflect too much. Phase 1 is so fun to just deflect tho, ignoring the bossfight.
