This song is a dynamic journey through vibrant darkness. One of the definitions of atrium is anatomical cavity or passage of the heart that receives blood from the veins & forces it into the ventricles. By this, the title relates to the lyrics in that dark forces pushing their way into one's life will get in by any means necessary.
i am 17 years old(2005), my mum has been playing katatonia outloud since 2006 - release of the great cold distance. the song "my twin" and "the future of speech" has a special place in my heart. i fucking love you guys, and thank you Jonas for brightening my life

I love Katatonia. They are one of the best bands to ever exist in my opinion.
I keep saying... That end chord is perfect. Has a very menacing, dark quality. A friend said that part, to him, harkens back to their 90s era.

Yeah, many songs on that album are. 'Sulfur' and 'The Future of Speech' are a couple other good examples. I'd say the album as a whole is very melodic.
I find the majority of their songs to be hummable. Jonas really knows how to write catchy melodies.

Heavy or not, I'm grateful that Katatonia is back and making more music. Not every song has to be guitar go burrr. Both heavy and light songs have their place in the album. The vocals on this one is winter personified \m/
What a song. It's the pure essence of Katatonia; from the weeping guitar melodies, to the pensive and evocative lyrics, to the absolutely massive chorus that Jonas delivers with utmost conviction. It's a song to sing your heart out to.

What’s funny is that this was announced the moment I woke up from a sleep where I dreamt about being front row at a Katatonia concert (Anders Nyström was singing lead on a song I never heard before, which stood out to me).
This song is good! They REALLY teased me with the last 20 seconds with that old signature Katatonia sound being played for a bit.
Yeah, the ending got me out of the blue, wonder if there will be some more Brave Murder Day echoes, can't wait.

I so love Katatonia!!! Their music is wonderful 😊. Wasn’t expecting another album for a year or so. It would be amazing for them to release a new album at least every 2 yrs. I can’t get enough. Going to see them in Harrisburg PA next month and they’re probably going to play a few new tunes!

Has elements of the past and elements from The Fall of Hearts album!
But I’m also hearing some very slight H.I.M influence, particularly in some of the vocals.
Feels like City Burials but more informed by Discouraged Ones' weepier guitar work. Interesting, would definitely like to hear more of that late 90s tone if they're looking back on it.
