The 3M™ Scott™ ELSA Emergency Escape Breathing Device continuously flows ~30-40 liters per minute of air into the head top. This high flow of air dilutes/eliminates the small amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) that is generated by the wearer for the entire time that the wearer is using the respirator. The respirator is rated for 5-, 10- or 15-minutes.
