Smoke detectors sounding at my Aunt Laura's house

- So I'm in Ohio until the 6th and am staying at my Aunt Laura's house (she moved into a new house about 2 months ago that's why it looks different from the rest of my videos at her place), and today my cousin and I woke up at about 9 am to the smoke alarms going off and apparently this is a recurring problem since the whole downstairs is open and a majority of the ceilings are vaulted and the only low hanging ceilings are near the kitchen which is where the smoke detectors are mounted. I am trying to help the figure out where to relocate them but it's not going to be easy because they are hard wired. So for now, they are just working to try to not set them off. In fact if you notice in this video, one of them has the battery out of it but the one near my Aunt Laura and Uncle David's bedroom is the one that is mainly tripped and it wouldn't be a good idea to disable it.
Just to let y'all know, my Aunt Laura no longer lives in this house so any suggestions about replacing or relocating alarms are no longer relevant. Thank you!
dogs LOVE this...lol
Grace seemed to just take it.
Damn it Laura how many times do we have to tell you, TURN THE FAN ON ABOVE THE STOVE WHILE YOU'RE COOKING.
Yeah I agree. TURN ON THE DAMN FAN!!! Lol
Looks like you got some first Alerts there, my dude
They're not mine.
So it looks to me that what your Aunt Laura was cooking on the stove sets of that Kidde PI2010. That’s pretty common with those dual sensor ones. And what sucks is that when they go off it’s a pain to get them to stop beeping. I wonder why she left the battery door open on the Kidde 1276. This exact thing happens at my Aunt’s house all the time but when we fan that one usually it stops beeping right away after we do that. I’ve been there for several of those times. It’s a Kidde 1276 exactly like the one that the battery door was left open but my Aunt doesn’t leave the battery drawer open.
I think it's because she initially thought the yellow one was the one being triggered.
I seriously love this video
Thank you :)

I would probably get rid of the smoke alarm that went off and replace it with a heat alarm or a carbon monoxide alarm. The spot with the alarm that is yellow is probably the best spot to have. The upstairs one should also be replaced with a smoke and carbon monoxide alarm
Well no use in this suggestion now. My Aunt doesn't even live there anymore.
@@HalonPoisoning oh ok
@@HalonPoisoning where does your aunt Laura live now?
@@KevinLyons-gn7eu Another house.
Can you not see that it’s smoky, it’s doing what it’s supposed to do
Geez Louise! That kidde that was shown on first video got a severe yellow! Mine never does that, although years later it still remains white to this day.
I'm pretty sure that's a FireX and I'm also pretty sure it's original color is yellow.
The one at my aunt’s house never yellows. Does this mean it’s a pure Kidde?
Kitty Siren I think the yellow is the original color from the factory, as I've seen other FireX models that look just like that that are also yellow. I really would have no idea what model a white one like that would be. If you really want to know, briefly unmount it from the ceiling and read the back.
And, the firex at my house never yellows one bit
Kitty Siren Like I said. Some are manufactured with yellow cases, some with white cases. That's probably the original color from the factory.
so you've got a duel sensor alarm near the kitchen huh? man those kidde duel sensor alarms are a real pain in the neck, and the ears.
This wasn't mine as stated in the title.
@@HalonPoisoning regardless, I do not like those kidde duel sensor alarms just because I've heard they are prone to go off during thunderstorms.
Thanks for giving me a love on my comment
Princess CatNoze You're welcome!
wow! thats the loudest!
Remember theirs a hush botton on those smoke detectors.
Yah I didn't initially think of it at first. Dunno why.
Wow
What made the smoke detectors go off?
My Aunt Laura burned bacon.
Halon Poisoning Wow 😮
Halon Poisoning My uncle/aunt sometimes burns food and the kiddie alarm near the oven goes off. At my house, the kitchen detector is 13 Feet away from the stove. At my aunt's, it’s like, less than 10 Feet away. My dad plans to remove it and to use the living room detector as the main kitchen one, but it never happened
Halon Poisoning the two last alarms are at my other cousin's house. They live in Danville. It’s in the kitchen and the upstairs hallway. Who knows if they are hardwired or not. There are also firex alarms in the rooms
@@HalonPoisoning similar story. At my apartment, every time my mum uses the oven, it sets off our USIs, which D O E S N O T have a mute button. Bad choice imo.
You don’t have the wave of broom around it. It has a button temporary stop the alarm.
Yes we figured that out if you saw the whole video.
When you partied hard at your friend who is a furry
Wtf

What was that a false alarm?
Yes. My Aunt set it off cooking bacon.
I know how it feels 😬🙄😳😐😤😫😩😞😒

They probably meant white people.
Gold Leader 2004 That sounds kinda racist but ok.
My dad's dream house has Kidde smoke alarms everywhere and they might be the same one as the Kidde that did not work or there are the same firex alarms
All Is working is a long test you are safe
Yes I know, although my aunt no longer lives in this house.
1:36 does that smoke alarm works?
I think it's just not interconnected with the others. My aunt no longer lives in this house.
@@HalonPoisoning what’s the name of that smoke detector at? 1:36 is it hardwired or battery?
I have loads of smoke alarms
Fancy The Table Thingy We only have one that works at my house (I moved but haven't made a video at my new place yet)
What was the problem
Dennis Drews My Aunt burned bacon and it set them off.
Halon Poisoning My aunt burned oyster, or that was my uncle who did
Kitty Siren That must've smelled really bad.
And when I commented that comment, a first alert went off. My grandpa burned something unknown.

At real life my name was Laura
So basically, when you and your cousin woke up, the fire alarm was going off. You have to evacuate when the fire alarm goes off.
Uhhhhhh, we knew what caused it. There was no fire. It was a false alarm caused by my Aunt Laura's cooking.
@@HalonPoisoningOh. Whenever the fire alarm goes off in my house, since it's so loud it makes my ears bleed, I evacuate regardless of there being a fire or a false alarm.
@@GabetheSlacker Unfortunately it's the same case with me but I knew how to shut it off.
@@HalonPoisoningDid your cousin evacuate? If I was there, I would have evacuated.
@@GabetheSlacker No. No one did because it wasn't necessary.
I have those same fire alarms i hate them things
How come the Kiddie smoke detectors are not working
The one in the basement isn't connected with the rest of them for some reason and the FireX is separate too and doesn't have a battery. You'll notice that when I showed the FireX, the battery drawer was open.
Halon Poisoning ok 👌
+Afton R They disconnected the battery in a similar incident out of frustration, but I told them about the hush feature. They are going to try to find a company willing to completely redo where the smoke detector outlets are located so this problem will stop occurring (in fact, I've offered to help with that if I end up moving in with them). They're considering moving the FireX into the dining room, and the one outside my Aunt Laura and Uncle David's bedroom into the bedroom. I actually suggested that to them. They've also thought about putting new detector's in all of the kids rooms too and hopefully, they can get the one in the basement hardwired, especially since it's both a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and they have a gas furnace down there. They should probably get another CO detector to put close to where everyone sleeps, and I think their office should have a smoke detector as well, since it technically could be used as a bedroom, and in case the computer catches fire. My Aunt Laura takes fire safety pretty seriously, since they were in a house fire 12 years ago and not only did they survive it because of smoke alarms, but their house that they were in at the time was still livable because of them, and I take fire safety pretty seriously too!
Same as my ei146
Halon Poisoning Only one detector in my aunt’s house has no battery and not wired with the house still flashes red. How?
single black woman life sim soundboard
What?
I'm referring to the hard not to notice amount of beeping Americans that don't change the batteries in their smoke detectors and making a comment and correlation to these background noises and the background noises that (an overwhelming amount of African American people) hear on a daily basis therefor relating it to a "sim" which is short for "simulator" here you will make the connection that I'm referring to this video and the sound it projects is reminiscent of the surroundings of most "beeping
Americans" @@HalonPoisoning
hope that helped @@HalonPoisoning
@@nigghaareyoujoking I'm afraid your statement is not making any sense to me.
yes it is, its okay i know you know @@HalonPoisoning
Check if is flashing red, if one has it, is the one that is triggered
That depends on the make and model.
I told Cole burned aunt Mindys house
What?
I have smoke detectors too
That's good, they save lives!
Halon Poisoning Well they sure save lives I got a lot of smoke detectors
+Afton R Yah me too. I have 6.
Halon Poisoning wow
+Afton R Well my house is huge. 4 bedrooms (though one is really an office) plus the downstairs area, which is all one room, plus the loft upostairs. Each bedroom and the office has a detector as well as one at the top and one at the bottom of the stairs. There is also a socket for a detector outside by roomate's bedroom but it doesn't have power so if s detector is plugged in it and it sounds, it will not communicate with the rest of them, nor will any of the others communicate with it, so we don't use it.

@@HalonPoisoning that was loud ho loud was that?
@@gunnarbondank3893 Not nearly as bad as you might think. I think the vaulted ceilings helped lower the decibel rating.
