Guys, I KNOW this wrap cost $6500...but when this was recorded info was not in front of me. LET it go, it's just an error of information on WHEN this was recorded. LOL, my goodness. I KNOW IT COST $6500!
But once someone spends $100,000+ for the truck, the extra $6,500 is just chump change.
Not to be one of those jerks that correct people on Internet, but Elon never actually said them windows were bulletproof, just shatter resistant. Which they weren’t. The windows are however, stronger than standard pick up truck windows.

Good point about it being a canvas. The aftermarket will bring around a lot of haters to the dark side with wraps, new bumpers, grill, tires, accessories, etc.
I feel like if I got this truck I'd need to wrap it. I saw one in public last week here in CA and the car looked so dirty and was covered in handprints and smudges that it looked sort of gross.

I’m not worried about fingerprints when my truck is highly resistant to dents, 9 mm rounds & 45 acp rounds. If anything I’ll get a compatible ceramic coating (substantially cheaper than a wrap) and coat the exterior to prevent the fingerprints.
This truck is a beast and way cooler than I expected it to be when I first saw it unveiled.
You know that the truck with never see a dirt road or off-road to do any real work if the owner is worried about fingerprints on the outside. This is sounding more and more like an expensive vanity project.

Dont worry about fingerprints. Unless you plan for people to be massaging your car. The only place anyone should be touching are handles and charging port.

It is essentially big gorrilla glass on phone screen.

That was like 2 years ago at the unveiling of the prototype. In the actual delivery of the first trucks a few days ago, they did the same test and it did not break. But they never said the window was bulletproof. It is the actual metal part of the truck that are. The windows are pretty solid, but not bullet proof. So if someone is shoo**** at you, you better duck!

Wraps are the biggest waste of money. You CANNOT take it through a carwash, EVER! It scratches and stains very easily. If you take it off-roading and brush against bushes or trees, it's ruined. If it rains, you need to wipe it down immediately or the rain drops leave marks all over it.
White would look clean af

The only advantage of having a flat black wrap is it hides the deformity of the panel is not going to show up as bad as it would if it was a mirrored surface high gloss because if they left it the stainless steel that it came from the factory surface it requires the same amount of surface attention that every truck driver has to do when it comes to polishing the Chrome and aluminum on a truck and by the way if you actually physically scratch the surface you cannot hammer it out you can't use body filler on it you can't use a spray coating to give it the same luster as the rest of the panel cuz it's going to look like a blurry blob this was their solution to hide a lot of the misalignments of the panels that showed up at dealerships where the door panels where they meet the top of the roof the groove would vary from a quarter to a half inch because they weren't pressed out right and the lower door panels on the one side believe it was the right back door that the lower panel can clearly see was in front of the other one by more than I have inch yeah they let it leave the factory like that that's how sad the quality control is there you think they would have did a better job put it on display but they didn't

The ripples in the panels are so gross. And they'll probably get worse over time. The wrap does nothing to hide them.
