Jon - very much appreciate the series and the integrity you put into what could be read as underwhelming results by some. I am looking forward to the Raceseng shift knob you're sending my way and will be posting a video of that quick install project soon - maybe sneak out a couple extra ponies, right?! Keep up the good work.
Not for the 987.1, the best support for that vehicle is through EVOMS: flat6motorsports.com/collections/987-ecu/products/evomsit-intelligent-ecu-tuning-2-7l-987-1-cayman-boxster
@@jonswiftucf What do you mean 3.8 swapped? This is a 2.7 tuned with all the parts. Plus a GT4 is a HUGE price difference compared to a base vs s which is around 10k. GT4 is about 100k which is about a 40k difference from S.
They didn't really spend much. Im not sure if the exhaust even adds power, so the only thing they paid was for a cobb tune, ipd plenum and intakes. Without labor (you can do all that easily yourself) its like $3k lol. A base and an S is still about $10k price difference. Not to mention you can do the exact same mods to an S. This is completely worth it.
This video has been exactly what I needed to make the decisions I needed to make on tuning my 2.7L cayman. Thanks guys.
Glad we could help, let us know if you have any questions!
Impressive and accurate analysis of difference between stock and mods. This is the kind of information all tuners should supply. Thank you.
Awesome video, thank you for sharing the in depth results!

Would you be better off buying a Cayman S? It seems that the $/HP would be much cheaper with the Cayman S
Yeah, probably. Just depends on what you're looking for. However, we just bought a 991.1 GTS engine that will be going in :)
Great build, but I have to know, what music are you using at the beginning of your videos?
May I ask how much everything cost? I think that would tell most viewers if worth it or not. Any case, the acceleration gains r significant.
Thank for sharing!
Does Cobb have anything for a 2007 2.7 Cayman?

what about the fuel economy and the endurance?
No real difference there.
@@Flat6Motorsports very cool!
How much mpg are you getting now after these modifications?
I have a 2011 cayman, I will like to tone it ,Where are you guys located?
We're in NC.

@@Flat6Motorsports not bad
Id just get an S
Hi, I would like a custom tuning for my 2013 Boxster S. I already have all the mods you guys added to this car.
We can help you out, shoot us an email at info@flat6motorsports.com
Most expensive 17hp you can probably buy.
Why spend so much money tuning a base model when you can buy the S???
They swapped a 3.8 in there. Why buy a Cayman S when you can buy a GT4? To each their own.

@@usmc2141ilya follow the other episodes, the engine gets swapped from the base 2.7L to a 3.8L X51 out of a 991.1 GTS.
@@usmc2141ilya I think at the end of all that tuning they ended up put in a 3.8 cayman s motor.
