I left the church at around 16 years of age. Fast forward I returned to the church last year (I am now 33)
During my time away I still wore a scapular everyday (I always believed in its power) I truly believe Mother Mary played a Huge role in bringing me back to her Son Jesus Christ.
I thank her so much for being with me even when I was away and living a horribly sinful lifestyle. I am grateful for our Holy Mother! I am blessed that I decided to continue to wear a scapular. I am so devoted to Mary
Very funny that this comes up in my recommended as well as being uploaded only 35 minutes ago, as I've just bought a brown scapular and I'm going to wear it as a non-Catholic (who is eventually going to be confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church in 2025 I hope) as I have heard that I can. I think it will give me a constant reminder that there is a goal in sight & on the day I am confirmed I will also ask to be fully enrolled so I can reap the benefits & promises with complete certainty.
Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for guiding me to the Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church of my forefathers & allowing through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother, Mary, to come closer to you through her & building a relationship not only with Father, Son & Holy Spirit, but the New Eve & Queen of Heaven. Amen.
Pray for me
@@SpearOfLughh be strong and ready to fight as satin will be trying to keep you from your goal. 🕊️🙏✝️ God bless you ✝️
@lizolson282 Been under attack mentally, physically & spiritually for a while now but I'm keeping faith, please pray for me ✝️🙏
A couple of weeks ago I went in for surgery and removed all jewelry- which included my crucifix, miraculous medal. However, I asked if I could keep my brown scapular on and the OR staff allowed it. ☺️Hail Mary….. 🙏🏻💙
Me too because it isn't made of metal 🕊️🙏✝️
Awesome! Needed this. Thank you
St Simon of Stock please pray for Us All ❤

Scapular is very popular with Mexicans and Mexican Americans.
@@chrisr348 Filipinos, too.
Italians as well. I have my grandfathers still. Things are older than I am.
It’s the only thing I wear as I don’t like wearing jewellery. I have miraculous medal sown in one side and at Benedict the other. I wear it all the time. The 2 times it came off or I forgot it, I got a knee injury playing football and I was in a serious car accident! Let’s just say I don’t forget it anymore 😅
Love my hometown reference and the Benedictines that formed me… tell Fr. Michael the Benedictines are blessing scapulars too…
This is the hardest thing in all of Catholicism for me to believe. Maybe I have it wrong, but if you are wearing the scapula you will not go to hell. It cancels out all the horrible sins that a person does, but without repentance required? I was under the impression that Jesus is the only way to redemption. The way to the Father is through the Son. It’s so hard for me to get behind the scapula for this reason.
I believe in the power of the brown scapular. I never take mine off
Superstition. Depend wholly on Christ, not a lucky charm.
@tbrickman I understand the confusion. On the surface it can look superstitious, but it's actually a sacramental which is an instrument for God's grace. Think of how God used Moses's staff as an instrument for His grace. Our Lady, who is the closest to the Lord, gave the brown scapular to us to aid our salvation.

The Ark of the covenant might be a lucky charm then….
I wear a scapular, typically hidden though, but am not consecrated to it. Is that okay? I’ve read mixed answers.
I have had a few people who have seen it peeking from behind my shirt though thinking it was a tag to the shirt and trying to stuff it back in (usually a relative but a grocery clerk once tried to tell me, very politely, “your tag is sticking out”)
We want to make scapulars in Vietnam by a Marian community. What are the specifications needed to create scapulars from scratch?
You would need to be part of the Carmelite order and they would be able to tell you what is necessary.
As mentioned in the video it’s a section of the same cloth they would be using to make scapulars in the order.
Note there are many online stores from Carmelite orders. They even provide the text of the blessing for your local priest to use with you when adorning you with the scapular.
Hi Matt, new Catholic here and new to your show but so far been loving it. Question, the scapular you are wearing, the simplistic one, where did you buy it from? I'm having a hard time finding a simple scapular, without pictures
I would love to have a simple one without pictures, it's silly that there aren't any.
well, you'd pretty much have to make it yourself, which of course can be done.
@drmaybe7667 you could buy one with a picture and use a stitch remover to take it off. Mine is wool that has a separate fabric with the picture sewed on.
What's wrong with the picture, reminding you of the blessed virgin Mary?@@ElizabethDMadison
Why has father Mike never been on Pints?
Fr. Mike Schmitz? He’s been on the show plenty of times brother
@ I guess more like a long form discussion like this one
@@ReedWilkinsonI believe there are a few. The one I am remembering is an older episode, but they’ve had interviews since then at conferences that should be on Pints channel.
Sooooo….what is it and why do you wear it???
It is a piece of brown cloth superstitious fanatics wear arounf their necks to ward of evil. Consider it the catholic equivalent of a rabbits paw.
Superstition. Like a lucky charm.
@@kevinkelly2162 I'll pray that you increase in charity. I'd also recommend that you take a long hard look at why you're so disgusted by devotions to Our Lady.
It's a devotional that was given to the faithful by Our Lady. It signifies commitment to living a life of grace in Jesus through Mary.
@@tbrickman That's not true. You shouldn't say things that aren't true. If certain people misuse it in that way, that doesn't mean that it's defined by its misuse.
I have wore a Scapular since I was 13 years old and I’m now 59. It is my garment of grace. Won’t live home without it 🙏🏼

Why would you ask a Discalsed Carmelite whose group is 16th century about the brown scapular? The original Carmelites still exist and they still live at Aylesford Priory in Kent England where the St Simon Stock recieved the scapular apparitions. Aylesford was the first friary when the hermits on Mount Carmek came to England with the local knight after their being forced to leave the Holy Land. The discalced friar you interview does not even wear the same habit. He is wrong on many points and being American removed from the story. The friars now wear a white cloak over the habit. When they arrived in England the cloak was of broad brown and white stripes. This was then changed to white.
